New Plot Bunny with Teeth...

I know I've been pretty radio silent for a little while now and the next chapter of Lead to Gold is in the works... I've just been ambushed, tied up and kidnapped by a new plot bunny.

Aside from TheTallTaleTeller's vamp Carlo AU and BLUNTAnonymous' vampire adjacent story... I don't think there are any other vampire stories on ao3 for Lies of P. Now, I'm a sucker for a good vamp story, it's a classic and nearly every fandom needs at least one and I definitely follow the motto 'write what you want to read'.

Well this fangy little plot bunny has me madly writing material for a vampire P fic, (quite AU, no PD etc) which I hope to have the first chapter posted sometime soon.

If you might be interested in Carlo and Romeo finding a very troublesome creature then keep an eye out, I'll note when I start posting here on my blog.

Also, did you know Slavic vampires were able to turn into butterflies, and that male Calyptra moths actually drink the blood of animals including humans? 🤭

Oh yes, my search history is this bad, if not worse in some cases.

imagine a whump writer on trial as a murder suspect, and the FBI pulled out their google search histories and all of them are researches for their AO3 fics where they tortured their blorbo, but since the judge doesn’t know they’re a ✨whump writer✨ they’re definitely getting that electric chair when these are literally their google search histories:

my dream as a fanfic writer is to write a story which people want to talk to me about and send asks about afterwards and discuss things the characters did and the symbolism and meanings behind certain lines and I'll be all "hehe thanks" but irl I'll be in literal tears because I wrote something that means something to someone

My characters decide how things happen but by God I'm going to use the best language I can to properly descibe it all. I look up synonyms so often, even when I'm sure I have a good way to describe something because what if there's something even better?!

After reading this comment I was trying to think about how or why he’d have this unique heating problem, and came to the conclusion this was probably a feature rather than a bug. Now with this in mind on my fourth time around on the boss I realized something pretty insidious that pretty much confirms it for me.

There is no exit point for the boss, and the chest plate that fell off was held on with 2 large bolts on both sides. What looks like a hinge is actually a spiral decoration for his shoulder pads’ chain to connect too.

Romeo didn’t come out to meet face to face at first because he couldn’t. P was never actually supposed to see who was inside the King, and was only a consequence of the damage it received. That was the risk that had Geppetto worried enough to show up in person.

After he gets out Romeo talks about how he feels like he’s burning, and for the second phase(of his second phase) he lights his scythe off his own body(sick and metal). Romeo was rigged in there to die by overheating if by some off chance he were to ever somehow escape.

In support of this I would like to note all the machines seem to have a certain threshold for that type of damage and that Romeo isn’t actively on fire at first, just damaged. Also when he says “everything is going up in white hot flames” white flames do exist and they’re the step past blue flames, and I think he’s talking about the sensation of his systems overclocking to such a degree that he starts smoking and emitting fire.

This is so good! Just the placement of the writing on the painting supports this, Romeo comfortably writing in the middle while Carlo scrawls awkwardly at the bottom like it's a stretch to reach that far... 😘
