In early 2014 the Arts Moves Collective followed Harlem's Cash for the day and spoke to him about music and his life and how they coincide. What they got was a honest look into the life of a Corner Boy
Every day is a gamble, still we choose to roll the dice and take chances with our lives and our freedom. Chances that could potentially take us away from our families and loved ones. Chances that also have the potential to help take care of those same people…. its a 50/50 Chance, are you willing to gamble with your life?
We live in a day and age where morals are a thing of the past. Everybody is a self proclaimed "Real Nigga" and nobody does Real Nigga shit. Being a Real Nigga is owning up to what you do and having accountability for your actions. Real Niggas don't get caught up and try to pull the next man down with them to softened to their fall. A Real Nigga understands what comes with the life they're living and though it may be a hard pill to swallow, what must be done must be done....
No matter how much notoriety Harlem gets worldwide it's still primarily a small town that starts on 110th and stretches to 155th.. With that being said everybody knows each other for better or worse and we all have history with each other. In Junior High School I was the biggest Vacant Lot Records fan and it amazed me that Lil One was in the same school as me, Same thing in high school when I heard Cardan went to my school the year before and street ball legend A-Butta was still attending the same year I started. Still young and eager to build my name up I started battling around town going up against names like T-Rex, Jr Writer, Vado etc etc and hanging out with people like Loaded Lux, HUDDY Combs, and street legends who names will forever live on. Harlem is full of talented and motivated people that all rub of on each other and when they win we all feel like we're winning... I am blessed to be from one of the most influential places in the world, there's nothing like it
I'm really having fun doing these classic Roc-a-fella beats. Sometimes trying to make a hit or what you think is a "Hit" gets stressful and takes the fun out of music. At this point I'm just having fun... - Harlem's Cash
With one foot in and one foot out I have had a habit of going hard for a sec then stopping and starting then stopping and starting well from this day forward all roads lead to success, that other shit is petty and a road that I’ve traveled long enough… Next exit is the top!! If you don’t know me.. ALLOW ME TO RE-INTRODUCE MYSELF!!!!!
Being from Harlem there was nothing bigger than Cam and the Dipset joining The Roc. I mean Roc-a-fella was already fire but the swagger that Killa, Jimmy, and Juelz brought to the label was unmatched by any other artist on the roster at that time. Lets be for real Cam'ron had a pink Range Rover!! lol you couldn't tell them niggas NOTHING!!! ( they should have never gave you niggas money! *Rick James voice*)
