Senshi - "It's done!"

When Senshi prepares a dish, it isn't just food - he worries about herbs, spices, the flavor, nutritutional value. So I think Smoliv and Scovillain could be good companions.

I didn't find a golem quite like the one in the manga (not counting legendaries here, I think they'd be too much in this case). But I think a salt golem would still be suitable.

Dachsbun is representing the bread, Dragalge is representing Anne and Braviary is representing the griffin.

I considered Perrseker but it just didn't have a Senshi vibe...

Ivy Valentine - "Behave, you cur!"

Poison and Grass trainer

Ivy is an adopted English Countess, biological daughter of a zombie pirate, who explores the power of alchemy to create a powerful sword-whip. Not much of her lore is reflected in her design.

Soul Calibur is a weapon-based fighting game and Ivy's design reflects her weapon, in a way - she uses a whip, so she's a dominatrix. That's it.

She's coded as a villain (though she is more of anti-hero), usually has the color purple and has a visual motif of snakes, and sometimes some rose details (and an alternative weapon called Alraune which is a rose whip).

Arbok and Serperior are there for the snake motif, with Arbok also having the color purple and Serperior also being nobility (and having the move Vine Whip and a sense of superiority).

Salazzle and Tsareena are there for the dominatrix side with Tsareena also being nobility and Salazzle having similar "clothes" and colors.

Roserade is there for the roses and the vibe. Alolan Muk has the unique ability "The Power of Alchemy".

The Woodsman (from Over the Garden Wall) - "These woods are no place for children! Don't you know the Beast is afoot here?!"

Who would the woodsman be without a trusty axe?

Some of the tree are actually pokemon! The autumn Sawsbuck indicates that winter is coming. Snover indicates that winter is here.

And of course, the woodsman needs his trusted lantern.

Constant Companion: Watchog, alert for vital information.

Beldun is basically a flying camera, so vital for snooping.

Flygon is for her trademark rose-colored lenses (her pink sunglasses, I mean).

Nickit is for her free-style approach to private property.

Stufful is hor the company she keeps.

And I know Flabébe isn't a bug type... But Flabébe is for bugging.

Laios Touden - "Woof"

Main Pokemon - Rotomdex

Laios is a warrior whose past led to some distant from other people and an increased interest in monsters. And that also led to an interest in eating them (the monsters, that is).

Rotomdex is his main pokemon, a substitute for his bestiary / cookbook (that is also a monster!). Also it seems to have darker entries.

Gulpin is a stomach.

Toedscool has one of the many entries that mention the pokemon being delicious (I thought about including many of them...). But Toedscool is special, given that the first dish of the story is a walking mushroom.

Slowpoke's tail is the most classic pokemon dish from the games, and it also has further implications in biology (since it's the key of its evolution to Slowbro). This type of consideration for biology and the monster life cycle is an important aspect of Dungeon Meshi.

Honedge is there in homage to Laios trusted sword, helping him multiple times.

Silvally is there due to Laios love for chimeras and also due to the mistreatment in both theirs pasts.

Amy Rose - "Have no fear, Amy Rose is here!"

Main Pokemon: Tinkaton

Amy was created as a love interest for Sonic to rescue. The most notable features of her design are gender markers: being pink and wearing a dress In her original design, she was a pink Sonic. She is a hedgehog (which is why she has a Togedemaru - also I like that it's steel like her main pokemon).

Her crush (and sometimes obsession) with Sonic is one-sided, and though she likes the thrill of being rescued, she can stand up for herself with her hammer (that's why her main pokemon is Tinkaton).

Her arc in Sonic Adventure is about protecting a little blue bird (represented here by Rookidee - I like that it becomes steel like Tinkaton). First she evades capture, then when she fails she manages to escape and finally comes into her own and faces her pursuer. By the time Sonic Adventure 2 comes around she is the one rescuing Sonic.

In her first appearance, she read the cards to see the future, so I wanted to add a pokemon who had dex entries about seeing the future. I chose Kirlia - I think she looks the most like Amy, and she's also fairy type like her main pokemon.

I chose Buneary and Purugly for her to represent her friends Big The Cat and Cream.
