open to maybe doing this for people's own vids, give me a ping with your file available somewhere, or something on tumblr you're ok with me using no guarantee on timeline, kinda random when i work on these. have a pretty solid template to knock these out with though for motion track I do need some sort of...marker, for women there are usually, convenient, things to track

getting better at 3D layering and juggling multiple blend modes
figured out how to dynamically track sound i.e. ekg noise
inverted layer track so heart layer stays centered

kinda a work in progress
set my z axis wrong
gonna eventually redo, i was halfway thru when I realized my z point wasn’t 0 and that was why i was having such a hard time. didn’t want to redo all the work, pushed thru, will eventually redo.
i haven’t actually seen the we are your friends movie, but that one scene with the animated heartbeat always captivated me
wanted to figure out some way to get...more heartbeat :P
learned how to wield after effects 3D layering for this. there’s too much to track here, this is all manually keyframed. as a cardiophile this was...challenging to keep it together having to stare and replay this over and over frame by frame hah.
track is an excerpt of Can’t Sleep by Juliet Fox, pitched to 125

spend a bit giving lily a beat :)
all animation/morphing done by hand in a morphing program, sync’d breathing and heartbeat separately and combined/masked in post in After Effects
drawing not by me, see shilzumi_0916 on Twitter
see https://onouwu.tumblr.com/post/178712690153/submission2 for backstory on lily as a character if you’re unfamiliar!

thought this was funny lowkey I've fallen asleep with my steth a few times and I've been worried about this happening. didn't really think about what happens if you get poked by it though... that would be a excruuuciatingly awkward conversation with your doctor X_X

Did some work on @apoundingheartbeat ‘s video. OP (asked for permission) https://apoundingheartbeat.tumblr.com/post/178302759939/okay-well-heres-that-longer-video-of-my-fast
-Mega learning experience in denoising / post-color correcting. Color might still be a bit off, colorblindness sucks for grading :S. I can use scopes to get pretty close, but final grading will always be my weakness. -Wanted to try out puppet pinning things again, but there was way too much noise. Mocha AE got REALLY confused. Ended up doing a single point tracker, subject held still enough that it works well enough :P
-I tried embedding a BPM counter into the composition (e.g. this is generated by After Effects, not a recording of some other site). I rigged a slider effect to count keyframes, code below. You need to create keyframes that correspond with the beats, and this will grab them and average them. My workflow is to use the * key to drop markers while the video plays, since that’s easy to drop and sync to the beat. Then I go back to the beginning of the composition. I then press K (jumps to next marker) and then drop a keyframe. I have an AutoHotkey script that does this; it just presses K and then clicks Mouse1 :P.. You can then create a text layer to pull from the slider value. On this text layer, I also have Posterize Time set to 1fps, so it doesn't constantly spam updates.
// Begin After Effects slider keyframe counter code
above = false; frame = Math.round(time / thisComp.frameDuration); endframe = Math.round(time - 5 / thisComp.frameDuration); n = 0; while (frame >= 0 && frame > endframe){  t = frame * thisComp.frameDuration;  if (effect("Keyframed_beat")("Slider").nearestKey(t).time == t){      above = true;      n++;  }  frame-- } if(time == 0){  0 } else{  n * 60 / time }

The gif outputs are then opened in photoshop.
Each one is opened separately in its own file. Timeline is shown in each one, and loop mode is set (instead of “once”). Layers are then grouped in each file. One project is designated as the main file. Grouped layers are then copied from the other files into this main file (this should bring over all the Opacity keyframes in the correct timings). Duplicate and move the groups around as needed. Apply masks to the groups of layers if needed.

intro
throwaway account for heart stuff
programs:
premiere pro, some after effects, Sqirlz Morph
main point of this page is to share gifs made by Sqirlz Morph. it’s a free program, and allows creation of decent gifs in the style of @ay-heart-collection. I don’t think A.Y. uses it exactly, but uses something similar, and since I’ve figured out how to do it, I figure it’s worth documenting on the web.
I do not intend to really take commissions, maybe if I’m bored; this page is more dedicated to showing how animations are done and works in progress.
I don’t own most of the originals, I just edit. Let me know if you want something removed and it’ll get pulled off pretty quick. I credit the original poster when possible.
