Update on Crime Drama Shipping Bingo

I completely forgot about the event for most of this month, sorry. But I'm going to try and write a bunch of fics for this event over the next few days. Right now I'm working on a Linstead whump fic. Poor Jay is getting the crap kicked out of him, when Erin finds him and saves him. <3 Tell me what you think in the comments!

Here's a snippet: He was in an old building with leaky pipes, a roof that had seen better days, and a floor that was so dirty and grimy he didn’t want to think about the last time it had been cleaned, if ever, or what other fluids had been spilled near where he was. It was enough to make him feel nauseous, though the kicks to his ribs and the punches to the face already helped with that. He groaned and tried to move out of the way of another kick, but no had no luck.

It felt like he was barely breathing. Jay coughed and squeezed his eyes shut, as blood dripped from his mouth. “Why...? Why are you doing this?” He asked as the other man continued to kick him in the ribs. He was cuffed to a pipe on the ground. The floor was cold and hard, and he shivered as the beating continued. “I don’t know where she is! I haven’t seen or heard from her since she left Chicago” He yelled, after a particularly vicious punch to the nose.

A crack sounded and Charlie grinned at it. “I know you’re lying, Halstead. You and Voight are the only two people that she’d have kept in touch with once she left. And I know Voight hasn’t heard from her, because he’s been in an extra foul mood for months, so that leaves you as the only one she’s still in contact with in Chicago. So, you’re going to give me her number and address, and I’ll put you out of your misery sooner rather than later, with a bullet to the head.”

Jay winced as his ribs ached, his broken nose throbbed, and his mouth felt like the other man had broken all of his teeth, though thankfully that hadn’t happed yet. Each breath, each word hurt, but he didn’t let that stop him from protecting the woman he still loved. “I can’t tell you what I don’t know!” He lied, and then clenched his teeth as he felt another kick to his ribs. He was in agony, the pain so bad that he wanted to let the darkness overwhelm him as he passed out.

I actually haven't been reading much BuckTommy -- nothing against the ship or those who ship them, because I am pro BuckTommy, just like I'm pro Buddie, and pro BuddieTommy -- it's simply that my mental health hasn't been great, and Buddie offers me a comfort and escape unlike anything else, so I'm sticking with them.

Finished Brooklyn Nine-Nine

I just watched the series finale and it was so good. Yes, seasons 5 - 8, felt a little off and took some getting used to.

But they were still good. I enjoyed all the family moments, and the different pairings of friendships. It was so good, and I'm actually a little sad to have finished it.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine S6

I just finished season 6 and loved it.

The team-up with the Nine-Nine and Wuntch, Pembroke, and Stentley was awesome and I loved seeing it. Also, I LOVE that Boyle used the Peraltiago ship name! That was freaking awesome and made me laugh like crazy. I plan to start watching season 7 tomorrow.

I just realized something.. Chenford..

I started re-watching just Chenford scenes from season 1 and 2 last night, and I realized that season 2 episode 11: Day of Death, is one of my top 5 favorite episodes and it's one of two episodes that caused me to start shipping Chenford. When they're looking for Lucy after she's gone missing, Tim tracks down Benjamin Lassie and I love their conversation. Protective!Tim, is one of my favorite versions of him. He says this after slamming Lassie's head into the steering wheel, effectively showing off his protective side, and that he's not f-ing around. Tim: "You listen to me very carefully. Your name is Benjamin Lassie. You're a mid-level idiot, who controls every illicit item that enters the Central California Women's Facility. And today is your day of reckoning. Now, I am responsible for a life that is in jeopardy, and I will do whatever I have to to save her, do you understand? There's a man, who gives you items to smuggle onto death row for Rosalind Dyer. You are gonna give me that man." Lassie: "Why would I do that?" Tim: "Because if you don't, I will pull you inside out." ------------- Also, I love Season 3 episode 9: Amber. Tim's support and care for Lucy is shown so well with this scene. Last line is one of my favorite Tim lines ever. Lucy: "What's this?" Tim: "It's a copy of your final evaluation. I wrote it before our shift today." Lucy: "Like plainclothes day." Tim: "Only this time I didn't have to re-write it." Lucy: "Hmm. Officer Chen impressed me with every decision she made today. I will miss riding with her." Tim: "You don't let anyone ever tell you you can't do something. Not even me."

Regarding the break up, Tim's spiralling out right now and he's is self destruct mode. He's isolating himself. With that he thinks by pushing Lucy away he's protecting her. Tim believes he's a bad person/no longer worthy of her.

I dont think it's about them not being worth the effort.

I honeslty believe their time apart will strengthen them

Hey there, and thanks for your ask. I agree with you for the most part. I agree that he was spiraling and trying to protect Lucy. I hope that the time apart will help, but I don't trust the writer's to put both of them in therapy to work through their issues. For me, we don't even have to see their therapy sessions. Just some kind of random line every now and then would suffice. Tim or Lucy could mention to someone that 'Dr. So-and-So has been helping me work through past trauma and other issues.' I just don't think we'll be lucky enough to actually see it. I'm nervous about the show and whether or not it'll get renewed. All the other shows I watch have already been renewed. Even twice cancelled S.W.A.T. has been uncancelled and renewed, so now I'm just waiting and hoping for a season 7 renewal. Hopefully with a full set of episodes, where the characters and plot can get room to breathe and flow and make sense. Otherwise it'll be a clusterfuck and no one wants that.
