You may recall that I did go to the last show of Tourdust and really enjoyed. Well when 2ourdust was announced I knew I had to get an extra show in and the Seattle date was it for me. Second night of the tour so we had some idea what to expect. The piano interlude was still in as well as the Magic 8 Ball song. And even then FOB was able to make it even more magical!

This set list is REALLY good. It hits all the old faves, plays off the best songs from the new album and lets us freak the fuck out nightly in so many ways. For me it's given me a new appreciation for IOH and FAD which I didn't really listen to back in the day.

So my freak out moments: Patrick's piano medley started with Allie from Soul Punk! What? I was dumb when Soul Punk came out and skipped seeing him perform it and I regret it to this day. So getting this was extra amazing. Then the cover besides Queen(!) in the piano medley was Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun. Patrick was unsure of himself at first but he finished strong. And then during Dance Dance Pete was out in the crowd on a lifted platform by the sound booth. It made him look like he was on a hover board!

Really an amazing show not only because of the band but the crowd. The sing a long was so STRONG. I love crowds like this one, makes you just want to do it over again.

Boyz II Men perform as a trio these days (Nate, Shawn, and Wayna). They have a full backing band but I was delighted when Shawn played guitar on a few songs. So this set list had all the hits with some other fun additions. Yes, they did their song with LL Cool J. Yes that's a Beatles cover. Yes they covered Lenny Kravitz. And yes, they covered Eric Clapton. The story behind this is that Shawn learned how to play guitar around 10 years ago. I would not have guessed that, he absolutely killed it. The guys were super engaging, telling us when to get up and dance and when we could sit down (for a break since we'd need oyr legs later.) They also had the whole crowd singing Journey with them, like the biggest karaoke bar in the city. To be fair, this crowd was all in from the get go and sang a long to pretty much everything! Just a super high energy show as you would expect in their hometown.

I've seen QOTSA twice already this year but both were at festivals so hadn't seen a full set or their lighting rig so pretty happy to get that in. I had a good seat behind the sound booth so I got the light show in full affect which was cool.

This show was the last stop of the tour and "at home" so not surprising that it was a good show. Josh was so talkative (his usual self) and very effusive with his praise for the crowd. Totally worth the cross country trip for some Swivel Hips action.

This #20thanniversary reissue was an unexpected treat! Snagged the version with the liner notes that were autographed by the band. "She Paints Me Blue" shows up on Andrew McMahon set lists pretty frequently but the title track has always been my favorite off this album.

Last time I saw LP was when she opened for the Pumpkins at the Saenger right after Prince died. It was a great show and she did a really beautiful cover of Nothing Compares 2 U. So I was expecting a good show and hearing all of Exile was so great. She was talkative (this is def her thing) adding commentary like "so many songs about Johnny but I'm still pissed at that guy". She also told us that she was amazed that people still love this album and came out for this.

"It's inspiring to me and I'm very grateful."

I was on the other side of Orchestra level for this night so on Carl Bromel's side instead of JJ's side. But once again JJ used the full stage and came over to my side pretty frequently so still lots of good video (on my insta). The epic One Big Holiday is always a highlight. Also really enjoyed Thank You Too with opener Mady Diaz on guest vocals. If you know anything about my personal gut wrenching MMJ songs you know that Smokin From Shooting hit me hard. And that encore! Maybe the best encore set that I've ever experienced with them. OTR is my favorite MMJ song but Wordless Chorus is a close second and that vibe for WC was just pure undulating joy.
