Annon-Guy: Funny scene, say that Train, Sven, Eve and Rinslet are making a retreat from a dangerous enemy that has the four outnumbered and in a classic case of "Wait, who's driving the car?", Train, Sven and Rinslet see Eve is in the driver's seat driving the car!
How does Eve do holding the wheel? Does she drive them all to safety or do Train and Sven in a panic try to take the wheel from her before she crashes them?
She would actually do quite a good job, to everyone's surprise. She can easily memorize how to drive from watching Sven, and use her hair to for aid. Sven and Rinslet would panic the hell out, but Train would be like "Woah, that's cool. Let's see how you do, Princess.'' Sven would nag her all the way to safety to let him have the wheel, but she would just remain calm, keep a straight face, and perform excellently.

Annon-Guy: This is something crossover related but it can also fit into the main setting itself. (Apologies if I already asked this before.)
Like say there's a police officer seeing Eve fight criminals alongside Train and Sven and doesn't like the idea of a child doing this. So he/she goes out of his/her way to kidnap Eve, cure her of her nanomachines and put her into child care custody.
Well intentioned, but completely antagonistic as they think they're doing what's good for Eve, but is hurting her, Train and Sven by antagonizing them.
This actually happens in a lot of series with the same situation (seemingly unbecoming men adopting a child). However, in this particular case you mention, it is a bit extreme. Train and Sven would definitely intervene since this is against Eve's consent. They might give a good beating out of the guy if deeds had been done; but honestly, they would be more likely to deal with the guy the moment they sense that he will not give up. They have zero care about being antagonized, and because the cure will involve Eve's well-being and safety (she no longer has the power to defend herself), they will make sure the man takes his lesson.
In my opinion, the officer is definitely in the wrong. His concern has a reason, but there are better ways to deal with it. And there is a saying "If it still works, don't fix it." so I think unless there are signs of maltreatment or anything, the officer has no right to decide on Eve's behalf.

A picture of all the Numbers together. Even Ash is here as well. If you notice, you will realize the order fulfill a cycle of 12 hours, staring from Sephiria, Number I - representing one o’clock - to Train, Number XIII - also representing one o’clock.

Annon-Guy: Hypothetical Scenario
There are three bounties who are in one city, but opperates at three different sections. Say to cover more ground, Train, Sven and Eve split up to track each criminal down. How would they accomplish this as they each capture one on their own?
This is depending on wether the bounties are regular guys or have powers like Chronus and the Apostles.
This depends on the ability of each criminal and maybe the distance between them as well.
Eve would be assigned with the weakest one, obviously. She is the one with the least experience, despite her power and versatile tactics. Even in the case they are ordinary people, experience is a crucial factor.
Train would handle the strongest one, and this is more physical. He has incredible durability, athleticism, and strength. Sven can use the gadget to make up for the disparity in strength to a certain extent, however, this is not a guaranteed solution, because using tools would lead to a longer reaction time, causing openings.
Sven should be dealing with the one who has the biggest brain. His knowledge from the time he was a detective would be helpful against this type of criminal.
However, they can also divide the team into duo-solo. Sven goes with Eve to handle the weaker two, and then they all rush back to Train to help him beat the last one. In this case, the three operating locations of the criminals should be near each other. The duo can easily travel back and forth.
Unless they have the kind of power like Echidna, I think these strategies would work for most scenarios.

Annon-Guy: Considering how much Train and Sven rescue Eve...
In a hypothetical scenario, say Train, Sven and Rinslet were kidnapped and Eve was the ONLY one (no assistance from Sephiria, Kyoko, Leon or Charden) who can rescue them and capture the criminals who's holding her companions prisoner.
How would this go? Do you think this would take place before the final battle with Creed, after the epilogue or between those events?
if that happened, the chance it would happen before the final battle would not be very high. At that point, Creed was the only one who has the power and the capability to execute such a plan and success. So if this were to be the case, they would all be dead. Eve is definitely no match for Creed, and considering that Train had not been able to fight back efficient enough, leading to them falling into his capture, this version of Creed would be the strongest possible in the story.
It would likely occur between those events, when the gang was recovering and Train had just freshly lost Hades. If she wanted to rescue them alone, her best bet would be finding ways to communicate with them from the outside to get an insight about the situation and to discuss the tactic. She can create some device to exchange information with her nanomachine, or trying to hack into the enemy's computer system. The first option seems to be more optimal, since she can communicate with her friends and letting them know of her plans. The second one will provide proficient info on the enemy, however, this will be much harder to carry out and hide her intrusion from the technical team. This will be one way investigation as well. Her friends would be oblivious to her movement as they have no means of contact.
Either way, if she did this alone, the winning chance would be quite low. For it to be more guaranteed would result in a long preparation time, and I don't think she would have that much available. The best shot is still forming allies.

Annon-Guy: I get Black Cat mostly refers to Train (since he's the title character), but would you say Eve has some cat like aspects to her character as well?
I would say here that she even resembles a cat more than him. Train is more like a labrador who has been abused in the past so he had this gloomy era in his life, but once things change for the better, he slowly bounces back into his true self. With Eve, she is just a cat by nature. She does have a dark past but that is not the main reason she acts the way she does. Introvert, sassy, and kinda unbound by any norms but her own...Yeah, she sounds very much like a cat to me.

Annon-Guy: What's your stance on the main theme of Black Cat, Daia no Hana (Diamond Flower)?
Lyrics:
It always starts like this, I took a vow under the ultramarine sky, and now I start walking.
Yah, the golden shining desert (burning wind), searching for the diamond flower (keep wandering) for the first time, now I'm living for someone
There's something I want to protect, so I don't lose it ever again.
Yah, in order to make the wish in my heart (wavering) come true, I'll hurt myself as much as I want (I'll get hurt as much as I want) because I want you to smile, so now I'm holding the blade.
Inside my torn memories, these claws cut through the overflowing red shadows. Even if it cracks, if it's something precious that I want to grab and protect.
The diamond flower that bloomed on the night I cried thinking about someone
There's something I want to protect. I'll never lose it again. Let this heartbeat, smaller and more ephemeral than anyone else, tougher than anyone else, ring out.
I understand that the lyrics refer to Train in regards to his past with Saya and the present with Sven, Eve and Rinslet, but can the theme also be tied to Eve and even other anaime/manga characters with a mindset to Train and Eve?
I think this lyrics applied to all the key characters in the anime ver: Train, Eve, Sven, Saya, Sephiria, Creed. It can be the case for some supporting characters as well, but the depiction is not as clear. You may ask why Sephiria is also a key character here, it’s because she represents a major party in the main fight (Chronos) and she also has a crucial impact on Train’s character (they have a bonus ep just for her and Train to see eye to eye). These characters all have an idea that they’re willing to dedicate their lives to, a darker side of them that they have to balance out/grow out of, and they never give up on the path they have chosen. About protecting, the anime messed it up with its change of plot, but in the manga it’s obvious that they all have someone very dear to them, whom they would want to be safe at all cost. For the main trio, it’s each other; For Sephiria, it’s the Numbers; For Creed, it’s himself, and maybe Echidna in the future. It may sound absurd that Creed’s important person is himself, but it makes sense if you consider his past.

Annon-Guy: Don't know if music or songs are your forte, but say if Train, Eve, Sven, Rinslet and Creed each had music themes;
If they had Instrumental Themes, how would they sound to fit them?
Or
2. If they had Vocal/Character Themes, what kind of lyrics would they have?
Haha I listen to many kinds of music, but never actually learn about any of them, so I would say it's definitely not my forte. But I do have some ideas.
Sven: Jazz or sometimes R&B. Very fitting for the wildcard type of gentleman like him.
Eve: Classical music. This can change as she grows up, though.
Rinslet: Funk music. A mix of modern and the 1900s vibes. Bold, hot, kindly practical, always on a dangerous but thrilling business.
Train: Pop/country. There are ups and downs, but at the end of the day, the positivity never leaves.
Creed: Orchestral music. Not necessarily classical, but always delivered in a grand, overwhelming way. The type of performance that makes the audience feel spellbound and fully engaged, makes them remember the show for a very long time with strong emotions.
For lyrics, it would be like this:
Creed: "They used to shout my name, but now they whisper it." (Yellow Flicker Beat - Lorde)
Train: "Well, open up your mind and see like me/Open up your plans and, damn, you're free/Look into your heart and you'll find love, love, love, love." (I'm Yours - Jason Mraz)
Rinslet: "You are who you wear, it's true/A girl's just as hot as the shoes she chooses." (Fashion - Lady Gaga)
Eve: "Anything that's worth having, sure enough worth fighting for." (Fight For This Love - Cheryl)
Sven: "My heart is breaking for my sister/And the con that she called "love"/And then I look into my nephew's eyes/Man, you wouldn't believe/The most amazing things/That can come from/Some terrible nights." (Some nights - Fun)
Hmm, if I look back, some lyrics don't seem to be much relevant to the theme music. But yeah, I have the feeling that they are both of those combined.

Annon-Guy: Slightly off topic, but how do you feel about slapstick scenes in manga and anime in general (same gender, male on female and female on male).
I ask this because Train and Svene get into a LOT of comedic beatdowns with each other and recover in the next scene compared to when they get hurt for REAL. Even when Eve clocks people in the head, with criminals they get knocked out, but with the doctor after she was injured by that gunslinger, he just gets a lump on his head. Even when Kyoko tries to kiss Train, he clocks her on the head for even attempting to do so. Granted, this is mostly in the manga, but still.
You see, people take it too seriously, calling it full on abuse and saying it normalizes it, regardless if the relationship is platonic or romantic.
This is especially prevalent with Harsh Tsundere characters, mostly female ones who attack the male love for perverted reasons or out of jealousy, whether intentional or not for comedy purposes. In that case, it's a Double Standard as they're called.
Ultimately, I know we're not supposed to take it seriously, but I wanted to know your thoughts regardless.
I think it based on the context and the frequency of the action. In case of Train and Sven, it’s part of how their dynamic, like how siblings often fight. In case of Eve, it’s because she was having a nightmare and suddenly saw a foreign face when she opened her eyes, so she reacted reflexively. There was even a scene where she apologized about it. In short, they have a rightful reason to do it, and readers know that it would be acceptable to a certain extent if applied to real life.
In the case of Tsundere, it often stems from jealousy or is purely an expression. It can be cute if used for a reasonable number of times, but it’s obviously the opposite. It’s eventually become a cliché that no longer has the desired effect, and people grow annoyed about it. While we all get that it’s for comedy, watching it is tiresome. It’s like you have to watch the same youtube ad for 10 minutes in order to finish an episode. And since people cannot relate to the main character putting up with it despite doing nothing wrong, they tend to be more critical about it.
Unfortunately, this type of behavior is usually meant for female characters. Therefore, you gonna see hate aimed at female character more than male ones. It’s not entirely double standard, but rather a consequence of a stereotype in writing. Adding to the flaws, these tsundere characters are not commonly very well written. They are mostly flat, overly dependent on the male characters or take him as the only purpose to do whatever. With prominent traits of a tsundere be considered annoying, if they lacked redeeming quality, it would make it easier for people to hate them.
A good example of Tsundere is Rin Tohsaka from Fate series. While she might have been physical/harsh at some point to Emiya, she has other things about her as a character that make people love to see her on screen. I usually avoid series with this type of characters, so I can't recall any bad examples, but I'm sure that there are plenty. I have seen much backlash in this topic. Sometimes they are justified, sometimes they are just another thing for haters to bash about the character in question. But as I have said, if the writing were good in general, people would not be so against it. Even when the series is just the type for recreational purposes, the one with barely any plot at all, there are still certain standards.
Good character writing is also a reason I really love Black Cat, despite its simple, typical shonen plot. Eve could have easily been written as those Tsundere commonly seen in anime or been used for fanservice, but the author chose not to and built her character neatly.

Annon-Guy: Regarding the Anime Openings and Ending for Black Cat.
I know there's not that many differences between the two openings, but do you have a preference toward one or the other?
What do you think of Eve playing with hand puppets of Train and Sven in the ending? She also did it in the manga too 😂.
Whay do you think of the songs for the Opening and Ending?
1. They are two different OPs? I can’t tell honestly and thought they are the same. But both sound good. The OP is one of the very few things I enjoy when it comes to the anime. They are those OP that you wouldn’t skip even if you always do with others. I guess I don’t have any preference, though. I can’t even tell them apart haha.
2. I love it when she does silly things with her abilities because who wouldn’t? If i were her Train and Sven gonna have a soap opera about them.
3. I prefer the first ending to the second, partly for the cat versions of everyone, partly for I think it goes better with the OP. The second is a bit slow, more contemplative. I’m not a big fan of J-songs with such vibe.
P/s: happy tumblr anniversary! Time flies indeed. Makes me nostalgic about the beginning days of this blog so much. Never have I thought I would be sticking with it this long and have new people interact with me in this fandom. Thanks for hanging around!

For Sephiria: more reserved, but still unable to hide it. His relationship with Sephiria is complicated as it is now. They are old comrades, “supposed” enemies, some kind of mentor-student, not simply acquaintances but not as close as friends. He highly respects her, and this somehow creates a line between them that he would not dare to cross. He also understands that she must have gone to great lengths covering up his whole escape thing, so he would be thoughtful about burdening her with his feelings. However, he would not be very good at pretending. If they were in the same place together, there would be unconscious behaviors that give him away to his friends.
Sephiria’s personality only adds complication to it. She is nice to everyone, not because she is a hypocrite or something but because she sees no need to be difficult, and it makes her good will appear like kindness or affection in a very genuine way. This trait of hers would keep Train hopeful. He could not help himself despite knowing it might imply nothing. Nevertheless, he could not test her, because that would ensue letting her be aware of his feelings. But she never let her walls down. Even in the best scenario – she also, unconsciously, reciprocates – she would convince herself she doesn’t. She would be likely to cast it away as normal, platonic affection for an old comrade, and since she can’t delve on it (Chronos taking up too much of her attention), she would believe her own theory just to be done with it. In the worst case, she might not realize he has a crush on her, instead assuming that he treats everyone that way. She kinda can’t imagine that he would choose her to fall for, partly due to Train’s hiding it, partly due to her principles (not dating a junior for example).
Having to bottle up his feelings would certainly lead to frustration and melancholy at some points, and after each time, he would question himself if he should just let it go. But considering how he is, I think it would be hard. Not to mention that they may cross paths many times more. If Sephiria continued her manga behaviors (try manipulating him), it would push his frustration even further. Why does she only think of me when she needs something? And still, he would not be able to take his anger out on her, because it is true – as he has said once – that she has no better options. He hates her actions, but he can’t hate her. She is in a dilemma that both of them understand. Unless she tries to sacrifice one of his friends for her plans or to do a blatantly outrageous crime, something very unlikely with how Yabuki writes her, Train’s heartache and headache won’t be going anywhere soon. In conclusion, it’s quite a deadlock for Train here.
It's just my interpretation, though. Yabuki can write them differently (if he ever writes them at all), so there is no need to worry. Should he want the ship to happen then he would bend some traits of the characters to make it happen. I only analyze them based on a more logical view of the characters but we all know mangas don’t need it that much haha.
Sorry for dividing to so many posts. They all so long I don't want to ram them in one place, making it hard to read.

Ahhh, about Train handling being in love. It would depend on whether it is Rinslet or Sephiria we are talking about here. They have distinct personalities and backgrounds, which heavily influence how Train would regard and act around them.
Rinslet: he would be initiative with her. Considering that they share a friendlier, more casual relationship, if Train had feelings for her, he would not be reluctant to make his moves. While he is not the type to just outwardly say “hey, I like you”, he would give clear signs indicating that Rinslet is the person he has affection for. It would be an enthusiastic pursuit from his side, supposing she did not have any feelings of the same sort, but since the manga has already given us some hints that she does, it would be an overwhelming attack from him in order to win an official acceptance from her. He would be able to pick up on the hints definitely if he had his mind on her. Therefore, he would be quite excited about the whole thing. His strategy would be fast and confident, with no hesitation or doubts. His feeling is reciprocated; there are no risks to worry about if they get together, the only thing left is to have at it. Some counseling from Sven and Eve is still needed, though. Train is not thick-headed but he lacks the tact to deal with some situations involving romance and women.

Annon-Guy: This might be a bit strange, but what are your thoughts on Leon possibly having a crush on Eve?
In that vein, if Train and Eve fell in love with another person (Train with someone like Rinslit or Sephiria and Eve with Leon) how would they handel it? Considering that they never fell in love or had the time to even do so.
1. I think it makes sense that Leon has a crush on Eve. She is kinda his “Saya”, and he is at an age when conscious thoughts about romance starts developing strongly. He seems to be the type who is reluctant to show/deal with his emotions, prefer to bottling them up, so a person who is gentle/calm but sensitive like Eve would actually be a potential partner for him (both in terms of platonic and romantic). She would not push him to express himself and rather respect his boundaries. This kind of patient care is what encourages him to share his feeling.
The two would have little difficulty becoming good friends. However, the love part would not be so clear at first, even if Leon had a crush on her. As time passes and they mature, they might come to realize it and after some self-conflict, would be able to muster the courage to confess. I’m inclined to believing that Leon would yield first, but honestly, the chance is equal. Their “love” would have a rather rivalry dynamic, resulted from their friendship. Nevertheless, Eve is likely to have the upper hand most of the time haha. I also imagine that this duo would be a lot more straightforward with each other in this aspect, compared to Train and the other two you mentioned. They would have good communication, since both are not the type that likes letting people guess their mind. Even when they have something they don’t wanna say yet, they make sure their attitude got across, avoiding unnecessary misunderstanding.
Eve would handle her feeling quite well imo. She might not fully accept it at first, but she would not deny it (internally). She knows Leon is a good person and not in anyways undeserving of appreciation. The possible reason she is reluctant to admit is that she is not so sure if he feels the same and afraid of losing their friendship. However, she would still try to make him fall for her. She is not one to give up.
Eve can be embarrassed with intimacy gestures, but she definitely does not scare it. There will be awkwardness at first, like every teen couples (teen couples in my time, not sure of today ‘s). However, once they got used to it, Eve would be more relaxed to be a lovebird with him out in the open. I don’t think her personality gonna change much, though. Still the wise-beyond-her-age, a tranquil but competitive, strong willed girl. But she would be possessive, I figure. She will not back down against anyone whose intention is not “innocent”. Screaming, nagging or pouting are not gonna be her options. She will prove herself through ability so that her opponent must take defeat with respect.
Ahhh this is getting long so next post gonna be for Train!

If I had to choose who is crazier between Creed and the Berserker duo of Chronos Number, Kranz and Baldor, I would say Creed. I don't think people truly understand how insane - and may I say excellent - he is with daring to have and pursue his ambitions. He would clear everyone he considers obstacles out of the way in a heartbeat if he could. And if he were unable to do it immediately, he never gave up; he would find every ways, do everything, so that his opportunity could finally come. He would kill men, women, children, friends, foes, the second he thinks he should and is able to. Baldor and Kranz even bothered to tell Eve to stay away when they wanted to finish the soldier who eventually blew himself up. Creed? He would just send them both to heaven, in the most cruel way possible so that Eve would never have the courage to think of goodness again. He was about to do away with the children who are witnesses of him murdering Saya, carrying the same face he would have on dealing with any of his targets.
The most important thing is, that he is insane enough to think that immortality is achievable and that he can be the one who possesses it. Can you imagine, a man who used to be just an eraser, not even a Number, that far from being at the top of anything powerful, succeeded in obtaining the most invincible ability, having an organization of his own, and just plot armor away from smashing the main character? He is the definition of a self-made god. Baldor and Kranz can be combat enthusiasts, but they for sure do not have that kind of craze/determination in them. They would not break free from the servitude Chronos projected on them, even if they could. Creed, on the other hand, would. It literally is just a matter of time for him.

Annon-Guy: Excluding Train (Chronus/Sweeper), Sven (Sweeper), Eve (Sweeper) and Creed (Chronus/Apostle), do you have a favorite character from Chronus, The Sweeper Aliance and The Apostle of the Stars respectively?
Sephiria is pretty much my overall favorite in the story. But for the question, it’s Sephiria (Chronos), Charden (Apostles) and Kevin (Sweeper Alliance). However, if we also counting Rinslet as part of the Sweeper, then she would be the one.
