Another thing about the old dress up game host sites is that they used to be all different! I remember sitting at my mom's computer playing games and getting linked from site to site and they each had they own look, their own personality, their own gimmick.

So here's something fun from when I was in school.

My handwriting if I'm trying is pretty readable. Perfectly acceptable, teachers had no problem with it.

My handwriting for personal notes is hot garbage.

Now, when I was in high school I had a composition book that served as my diary/homework planner.

Because it looked like a composition book, I could write in it whenever I wanted and it just looked like notes, and because my handwriting is so very very very bad, even if I lost it or someone looked over my shoulder or whatever, I wouldn't have to worry about it being read because it was basically illegible for anyone but me.

So I would write very honestly about the teachers I disliked (one guy in particular was written about a lot) during their classes and it never came back to bite me.

It's good to write legibly but writing illegibly can also have it's advantages.

So you might be saying: Lion why a guide on drawing black people? Well young blood it’s because a lot of people cant…seem…to draw…black people..Amazing I know. 

Racist (caricatures) portrayals of black people have been around forever, and to this day people can’t seem to draw black people like they are human. If your artwork resembles any of the above even remotely your artwork is racist and offensive. If you try to excuse that as a stylistic choice you’re not only a terrible artist, but racist too!!! Congrats.

Whitewashing is also a problem. A lot of people refuse to draw black features on canonly black characters. While this example isn’t colored, lightening the skin-tone of a character is also considered whitewashing. So lets start with features!

Now all black people have different noses thats a no-brainer, but black noses tend to have flatter bridges, and wider nostrils. Please stay from triangular anime noses and small button noses. Your drawings should not depict black people with abnormally large noses. (Especially if you do not draw other characters this way)

If you feel like the way you draw lips on black characters is offensive or resembles a caricature,it probably does and you should change it. ABSOLUTELY AVOID PLACING LIPS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FACE. 

Hair is so diverse! Please get used to drawing braids, locs,kinks and coils! If you can learn to draw ringlets and long waves you can learn how to draw black hairstyles.

Add clips! Learn how to draw baby-hairs and never be afraid to add color Pinterest and Google are free my dudes! Also try using square brushes for blocking in coils.

There's also the whole thing about how people will choose to interpret everyday frustration (like the frustration with the societal expectations surrounding gender that make it difficult for gender-nonconforming trans people to be referred to correctly in public) with white hot rage directed at the them specifically (in this case, the person who did the misgendering) when it is coming from a person they do not wish to respect.

If you do not want to respect trans people, you are not going to find trans people and their thoughts and feelings respectable, but that is not their fault.

Remember, someone letting out a sigh before correcting you about their pronouns has had to have this conversation many many many times. It's not just about you.

Can someone tell me where these feminine trans guys with massive tits who wear push-up bras and skimpy outfits that I keep seeing transphobes complain about are? I’d love to see massive tboy boobs.

If I were to assemble a team of ghostwriters to create lots and lots of books under the same name I would probably pick something more marketable to a mass audience than absurdist thought experiment erotica.

The examples of that actually happening that I've actually encountered usually looks more like this:

It's a lot easier to write something unauthentically mainstream than something unauthentically "strange," because there's much much more out there to copy. To even conceptualize something "strange" even intentionally you have to have that "strangeness" within you to some extent.

Stop attributing everything you don't understand to inauthenticity is what I'm basically saying.

it got me thinking about how DEEP AND VICIOUS the irony poisoning of these early internet communities goes. the way buds like this cannot fathom someone just being a sincere person unrelated to their OWN old days of cynical posting. it is fascinating, and i will admit, sad too

despite a DECADE of work, countless live events, 350 tinglers written well before large language models were a thing, there are still people who cannot imagine someone like me could exist. it is a strange place to be. not just part of me, but my entire EXISTENCE is often gatekept

it is easy to say ‘well chuck your art IS strange’ but honestly i think it is more than that. magical realism is common. there are stories about dinosaurs and bigfeet and unicorns. this scoundrel reaction is about two unspoken things: my art is neurodivergent, and my art is queer

heres the thing: I WILL BE FINE. what concerns me is not an issue of MYSELF, it is a concern for the other young outsider buckaroos who see comments like this one and think ‘is that what they will say if i express MY unique way? will i be dehumanized like this at every turn?'

i will be honest, i cannot say that WONT happen, but i CAN say this: for as deep as this irony poisoning goes, it is slowly dying. the way i was treated at the start of my career is LIGHTYEARS DIFFERENT from the way i am treated now. there is a massive shift towards sincerity

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY. to young artists trotting up, the things that i am harassed over and doubted for and made fun of for are NOT tangental to what has made me successful, THEY ARE LITERALLY THE SAME THINGS THAT HAVE MADE ME SUCCESSFUL. YES I AM STRANGE, WHAT OF IT?

the things that you tuck away for fear of a review that says ‘there is a PROBLEM with this art because it has always been done another way’ THOSE ARE YOUR SUPERPOWERS. the gatekeepers want you to tuck those parts of yourself away because THEY TUCKED AWAY THOSE PART OF THEMSELVES

never forget that your unique way is PURE UNFILTERED 100 PERCENT ROCKET FUEL. it will stick out (maybe, if you are lucky, scoundrels will even say that someone like you could never actually be real), but sticking out isnt so bad when you are waving the flag of love.
