Just me being increasingly dramatic with my hands while I give you 10 seconds of burn damage as I ignite your soul! (Sorry!) Implemented some slight changes to my Grieving Mother cosplay for Zenkaikon. Other than the new bracelets, I also wore one of my old wigs that I was going to retire because it was too messy, but it worked really well for the character. Then I wore a pair of grey contacts to match her eye color better, though it only made my eyes a few shades lighter in the right light.

Also for those who asked in my last GM post if the chimes on my bracelets jingled, they do! Whenever I got separated from my group, I would shake my wrists so that they would hear them and turn around. Happened frequently, actually!

Many thanks to the two Fallout cosplayers (Smolcano Cosplay) who gave us a copy of the Wasteland Boredom Survival Guide at Zenkaikon! There was a lot of detail put into it that I didn't want to mess it up by filling out all the puzzles.

They are wrapped around the Grieving Mother's wrists with tiny woven braids of hair of different colors, from white to black, brown to blonde. You feel as if you're noticing them for the first time.

I wasn't expecting to wear my Grieving Mother cosplay again, however I needed something casual and comfortable to wear for Zenkaikon and decided to wear it again. Did a little more digging in the in-game dialogue and remade/added a bracelet after I found a paragraph that detailed the colors of the strands. Very happy with how they turned out!

She raises her left hand, the chiming at her wrists quelling the rise within her...she is frightened, but curiosity anchors her.

I've wanted to do a cosplay of Grieving Mother for years, but knew it wouldn't be well recognized, so I figured that it would be okay for a casual Thursday cosplay for Magfest. So happy with how it turned out, especially with the chime bracelet, which let out the gentlest jingle as I moved around.

Did some much needed winter cleaning and found the holotags I had made for this cosplay in a pile of crafts! They held up well, minus a few nicks on the vinyl.

A throwback of sorts and a friendly reminder to always check weather warnings before leaving cosplay projects out on the floor and going to bed. A few years back, I lost my pattern pieces, fabric, and boots for my Danse BOS uniform cosplay to a flash flood that occurred, thus making it a moldy mess by the time my basement was cleaned out. Kinda killed my motivation... The only reminders I have of this lovely endeavor are some straps, unprinted 3D files, and some make-up & wig test pictures that I saved in black and white for some reason, making me look like I was trying to be a smug knock-off of that Giga Chad meme...

My husband and I celebrated a portion of our belated honeymoon by hiking along some west coast trails. Zion took a few days to traverse and was far more majestic in person than what our humble cell phone could capture. Of course we could spare a few minutes to snap a few pictures in costume before we passed our clothes on to some unfortunate courier!
