I know Nate would confuse the hell out of companions. And I feel like Easter would be long forgotten over time and with it coming up I feel like he’d just-
“So yeah this giant bunny would come into your house and lay eggs full of candy”
This is a lone survivor Donatello Au, Leo was lost to the prison dimension While Mikey and Raph were burned away and consumed by the mystic energy Mikey summoned to try and get Leo back.
There will be themes of grief and loss (obviously) mental/psychological decline, depression, survivor's guilt, unhealthy coping mechanisms, self isolation, anger/aggression and an unwillingness to get/accept help and or support.
‘‘There's a storm inside of us. I've heard many Team guys speak of this. A burning. A river. A drive. An unrelenting desire to push yourself harder and further than anyone could think possible. Pushing ourselves into those cold dark corners. Where the bad things live. Where the bad things fight. We wanted that fight at the highest volume. A loud fight. The loudest, coldest, darkest, most unpleasant of the unpleasant fights…’’
In one of the most dramatic scenes from Lone Survivor, Lt. Mike Murphy (Taylor Kitsch) moves from cover and dodges heavy enemy gunfire while Marcus and Axe provide cover fire. While continuing to be fired upon, he is able to make contact with the Quick Reaction Force and requested immediate assistance. Even with being wounded multiple times, Murphy competes the call and signs off by saying his final words, "Thank You."
If this scene doesn't pull on your heart strings, you need to check your pulse.
I just realized something about “House of Ashes”. The game flipped the usual dynamic that you’d see in American/Western war movies since Jason is the hateful, xenophobic soldier while Salim is the courageous soldier who is just trying to get back to his kid.
I swear, most American war movies portray the enemy faction as this single-minded, hateful group of people, especially if they’re non-white (example: Lone Survivor, American Sniper). Meanwhile, the American soldiers are wholesome guys who just want to go back home and be with their family. So, it’s nice to see a story where it’s the opposite for once.
I’ve been making MacCready toy soldiers for a while now. (As a matter of fact, it’s the first thing I made back in 2018!) A few days ago I decided to make one into a Christmas ornament and he turned out adorable. — This one has already sold, but I might be making another one if there’s enough interest!
