“I see. Well, like I said, it surprised me.” Grinning, he nudged the other. “I mean you just act like such a lady expert,” he chuckled. Really Miyuki couldn’t say much more. It wasn’t as though he had experience with women. Or anyone for that matter. Kuramochi had far more experience than Miyuki did. He had never really thought about it much for himself. Mostly because he didn’t really do well with people anyway, he didn’t care much about having a relationship. Maybe if he found someone who cared about baseball as much as he did, someone like Kuramochi even. 

“Eh?” he asked, looking rather confused. “What are you talking about?” he said. They still had plenty of time to be playing. Pros didn’t retire that young. “…I…hm…” Kuramochi had a point he supposed. He had never really thought of his life without baseball or what it would be like if he wasn’t playing the sport. Kuramochi was right though, eventually he wouldn’t be able to play. Maybe he could coach if he wanted to? “…Well we…we have a long time before that happens right?” Alone after baseball…he pursed his lips and grinned at Kuramochi, hiding his growing nerves. “Do you think I would be alone really? Would you really leave me alone after all this Kuramochi?”

        Kuramochi wasn’t one to lay it on with flowers and cute words. When Miyuki asked such a question to him, he answered as honestly as he could. “If you kept me at arms length? Yeah, I would.” He wasn’t someone to stretch his neck out for anyone who wouldn’t do the same. Not anymore. “I had people screw with me in middle school and I kinda learned that not everyone is as loyal as I thought them to be. So I’m willing to toss anyone out that proves to be as dickish as they were. I can’t...I don’t want to go through it again. It sucked the first time and it’d never get any easier.” It explained his trust issues, especially with the enigmatic Miyuki Kazuya. 

        Still, he wanted the catcher to think about his words. “Now is the time when we’ll make lifelong friends, in my opinion. In the pros, all anyone cares about is making money and all that stupid shit. A lot of the pros tend to lose their passion for the sport.” At least from all the stories he had read in all the magazines growing up. Though he didn’t have to worry about Miyuki going down that path, he knew the bespectacled idiot would love baseball more than anyone or anything; money included. “Just think on it, yeah? Pros tend to retire in their 30′s or 40′s. So...there will be plenty of life to live after that. And...I would rather not have to leave you behind if I don’t have to.”

           Spending time with Kuramochi, reminded him of when they were both on the same baseball team back in highschool. Nori hadn’t gotten scouted, so he’d gone to university for biology and paleontology, eventually somehow landing a job in Jurassic park as a minor scientist. Over the past 5 years he had grown to a much higher status. Though what happened was, he lost touch with a lot of his high school friends. He had only really been in contact with Mochi, Miyuki, Sawamura, and Shirasu.

Seeing the other happily absorb the information he was giving him made Nori smile. He knew that his friend wouldn’t understand everything he was saying, but the fact that he was trying to understand was more then enough for Nori. Of course the best part was Mochi’s face when he got to hold the baby raptor.

The trepidation on Mochi’s face from seeing the sketch of the dinosaur made Nori falter, before he said “Well actually it’s called the Indominus rex, and I can’t tell you how we make it exactly, but it’s a mixture of genes from dinosaurs and other creatures,” then his voice dropped and he said, “I’m supposed to say it will be perfectly safe, but I’m not sure if that’s going to be possible. My boss actually said, ‘the bigger and badder, the better’ so I’m not sure.I’ll do my best to make it safe for viewers though.”

Nori took a breath before saying the next few words, “Actually…it’s almost ready to be created. I’m just waiting on the go ahead from my superiors. Now we’re just trying to see if we can make it better before then or not. If you want, I can give you a tour of Jurassic Park first, before we break for dinner? It’ll be a short tour for tonight, but the rest of the weekend I have off except for an 1 hour tomorrow.”

        “Indominus rex....It sounds pretty damn scary honestly,” which apparently is what the scientists and big bosses were going for, eh? Still, when Kuramochi thought about it, it didn’t seem really dangerous. The mixture of genes? How the hell did they even do that? How was it possible? Could they potentially create the perfect being with that sort of knowledge? Man...science was scary as hell. 

        “I hope it’s safe. It honestly sounds terrifying. I just hope you guys don’t create something awful, you know?” Only time could tell. He was still excited to see what would become of Nori’s work. It had been a long time since he had seen his friend this passionate, it was great to see the light and inspiration his eyes once more. If this is what it took then Kuramochi would always be supportive of the other. 

        “The tour sounds great too! I’m excited to see this place. I had seen overview pictures but man, once you get here you really realize how huge it is! Don’t worry, when you’re off doing your thing I can take the time to explore on my own.” Not too mention with his VIP access, it meant he got onto rides immediately. The perks of a fancy scientist friend! 

        Wrapping an arm around Nori’s neck, he walked by his side, a huge grin on his face. “Seriously, Nori...thanks. For all of this. I never thought that this would all be possible. When we heard you hadn’t gotten scouted for baseball, I was honestly heartbroken. But I’m glad you seemed to have found a place that makes you happy again. So! Show me what you guys’ got here. And dinner also sounds good, I’m getting hungry.” But he was always hungry, so he could wait for that for later.
