Just thinking about rain having a bad pain day, maybe not being able to do as much as usual, or needing their cane, and explaining “spoon theory” to phantom, who takes it far too literally and ends up taking all the spoons out of the shared kitchen and leaving little piles of silverware on their bed, feeling pretty pleased with himself.
But rain is a bit cranky to find them on his bed, maybe he doesn’t even see them before he falls into bed, the loud clanging startling him, and dew is next door and hears the commotion, running into his room and finding him on the ground surrounded by a variety of spoons.
Eventually they figure it out and sit down a well meaning phantom and explain that rain didn’t mean literal spoons, and he doesn’t quite get it but agrees to not put any more spoons on his bed.
This is so rough and probably makes no sense, I’m tired okay

Dying Star
Who’s ready for some major feelings!!!!! This is based on this post by @puppsworld and the resulting back-and-forth we had. The spirit of something possessed me and I managed to bang this out in 30 minutes.
I cried writing this… Troi I hope you’re happy with yourself /lh
Warnings: major character death, dementia-adjacent symptoms

Aether hurt.
He didn’t think fading would hurt this much, but it made sense. His soul, his spirit, everything that was him was falling apart. Dissolving like ink in water.
It had started with a sudden silence. He hadn’t realized how present his magick was in his body until it was gone. He had been walking back to the Abbey from Mountain’s greenhouse when there was a sudden swell of intensity in his stomach. He’d gasped and doubled over as it grew to a painful level. Ozone crackled in the air around him as the Quintessence just grew.
Mountain had been at his side in moments. He had tried to touch Aether, to put his arm around his packmate’s shoulders, but the energy was too strong. There was a sudden swoop in Aether’s stomach and suddenly it was gone.
Everything.
Was.
Gone.
Aether let out a choked sob. He knew what this meant. It was baked into the subconscious of every Quintessence ghoul. One day, your star would burn out, and you’d be gone.
Aether’s star had died. He felt cold and empty without his Quintessence.
The pack had tried to comfort him. They’d held him, wiped his tears, told them how much they loved him. It helped a little.
Aether only had days left. He tried to go about his life as usual, but it was no use.
His memory began to fade on the second day. He struggled to remember the chords he’d practiced thousands of times. His packmates started to look unfamiliar.
He started to hurt on the third day. His body was fading, shutting down for the night. He felt sick, weak and shaky. The pack tried to make him comfortable- they made a nest on his bed out of blankets and added their clothes to surround him with their scents. It helped a little.
He cried a lot. He was scared.
The worst part was, Dew could feel it too. His mate, the man he’d bonded his soul to, was dissolving. He felt him slipping away with every breath, every heartbeat, every second of every day. He curled up in the nest with Aether and cried with him.
He was almost gone on the fifth day. He was fuzzy around the edges like TV static. His hands sometimes passed through things. His thoughts were vague and disappeared quickly. He remembered his pack and mate, though not their names. He couldn’t talk anymore, his tongue felt impossibly light.
It was sunset of the sixth day when Aether faded completely. His pack surrounded him, pressed up against his fragile body. Dew’s fingers were laced with his. He was whispering words of devotion, of love, of bittersweet memories, but Aether couldn’t understand most of them anymore.
It felt peaceful to die, like falling asleep. His form dissolved like ash in water, leaving behind tear-stained blankets.
It didn’t hurt anymore.
He wasn’t there to hear Dew’s keening wail of despair, or his packmates joining in in a chorus of grief. He wasn’t there to watch the sky turn pink and orange and fade to deep gray as stormclouds rolled in.
He wasn’t there.

Once on tour, swiss dared dew to get in the baby swing at a park near the hotel, betting him that he couldn’t fit in it.
Dew lost that bet badly and got completely and totally stuck. They had to call Copia, who then had to call the fire department to get him out.

Vessel of possibilities (part one)
Phantom is still new and learning about his element. He gets more than he bargained for while sick.
WC 1k
Includes - phantom has a cold, mention of dew burning a building down, but it’s all so fluffy.
No one's exactly sure why, but there's something about a ghoul getting sick, even something as minor as a common cold, that just makes their element go haywire, causing their powers to short-circuit and become volatile and hard to control. It's something of a rite of passage that each ghoul eventually goes through, and each one ends up with a story to tell.
It had been several months since Phantom was summoned, and he was settling in well topside. He was slowly learning all the things he needed to know and bonding with his new pack, who had quickly accepted him as their own. He just slotted in like a missing puzzle piece, a natural, effortless fit.
But now he was in his bed, dramatically telling anyone who came to check on him that he was most definitely dying, and they should all be saying their goodbyes (he could rival Dew and his drama queen levels). Aether had been at his bedside the whole time, assuring the sickly quint that it was just a cold, and it would pass in a few days; he just needed to rest up and drink plenty of water. Luckily, Mount was right there with all the soothing drinks and warm soups a ghoul could possibly need, and Lus had lent him her softest blanket, so at least he could die in comfort.
"Are you sure I'm not dying? Because I'm pretty sure this is how dying feels," Phantom whined quietly in a raspy voice. "I'm sure, Bug, it's just a cold. We all get them," Aether said reassuringly. "I know they’re not fun, and I'm sure you feel rotten, but it will just be a few days."
Phantom let out a small grunt; he wasn't convinced by Aether's words. He did feel rotten—his throat was itchy, his nose kept running, and the sneezing was beginning to feel like a cruel joke, each one making his whole body tense up and ache.
On the second day, during which Aether assured him it was 'the worst of it', he sat up to drink one of the many drinks that Mount had left on his bedside, hoping to ease the tickle building in the back of his throat. Unfortunately for him, the warm steam that wafted up from the cup only made the tickle worse, spreading from throat to nose, and he let out a sudden and violent sneeze.
Now the sneeze itself was bad enough; it was one of those particularly nasty ones that feels like you’re going to break a rib and your bladder might betray you, but poor Phantom's bad luck was about to get even worse.
At some point mid-sneeze, his quintessence had spiked, flaring up in a way out of his control, and a peculiar sensation washed over him. Before Aether could even react, he looked up to see Phantom, blinking in bewilderment, now sporting a pair of delicate bat wings, softly fluttering in the dimly lit room.
Aether let out a shocked gasp, barely believing his eyes, while at the same time Phantom's brain caught up to what just happened, and he let out a high-pitched scream. Aether dashed across the room, but in the split second it took for him to cross the room, the bat wings had receded, leaving a very confused Phantom muttering away to himself on his bed, his throat raw from the unexpected outcry. He stared at Aether with wide, pleading eyes, hoping he had an explanation for the utter weirdness that had just occurred.
Lucky for Phantom, Aether did have an explanation. He sat down on the bed next to the shaking and dumbfounded younger quint, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder, trying to find the words to begin explaining what just happened.
"So, Bug, when ghouls get sick, it can sometimes mess with our element; we don’t really know why, but we’ve all experienced it. Dew burned his room down the first bad cold he got after the element change,"
Phantom's expression softened, and he let out a small laugh as Aether continued.
"I should have explained this to you earlier, Bug, but I guess now is as good a time as any. Quintessence is a strange element; it’s most commonly used to heal others, like Omega and I do in the infirmary, but basically, you can control most forms of organic matter, including your own."
Phantom tilted his head gently to the side, letting out a small sound of confusion. "My own? You mean like my body?"
"That's right, to put it simply, you have the ability to shapeshift. I suspect that's what happened when you sneezed, causing you to turn into a bat for a brief second. Does that make sense, Bug? I know it's a lot to take in."
The smaller ghoul nodded, thinking for a moment before his eyes suddenly lit up and he excitedly whispered, "Does that mean if I learn to control it, I… I could turn into a bat whenever I want?"
Aether let out a somewhat relieved chuckle, “Yeah, I guess so. It's not easy; shapeshifting takes a long time to master and is both physically and mentally exhausting, but yeah, you could, with a lot of practice, turn into a bat whenever you wanted, Bug."
For a brief instant, you wouldn't even guess that Phantom was still under the weather. His grin was broad, lighting up his face, his pupils dilated with excitement as he jittered slightly on the edge of the bed. Overcome with eager anticipation, he managed to stammer out just four words:
"Could you teach me?"

“of course bug. i’d love to. but first you have to get better. Now try and get some rest”

Phantom agreed, his excitement was starting to wear off, and he settled deeper into his blankets and pillows, his eyelids fluttering, growing heavier with fatigue. Aether adjusted the top blanket, tucking it gently under his chin before leaning down to give the almost asleep little ghoul a kiss on his still very warm, forehead.

Rain HC
Rain definitely needs time alone to recover from “peopleing” and dew will often find him set up in his room, surrounded by so many blankets and pillows and some super cheesy kids movie playing on his little tv. (Most of the time Dew doesn’t count as people, and is welcome to join as long as he brings snacks)

Do I have multiple fics to finish, and also the last two ghoulettes of the current era to draw? Yes.
Do I want to draw something completely unrelated to both, while trying a new art style? Also yes.
This is how nothing ever gets finished 😂

Oh for sure, she definitely got that powdery stuff all down the sides of the couch cushions and it attracted ants and getting rid of them was a whole thing to deal with 😂

Hi Zach! I hope you're well. I really like your account. :)
Could you do a headcanon on the ghouls who discover that there are fanfictions about them and what are their reactions please?
Hi Samael! Here are my thoughts on the ghouls (strictly the characters, not the unmasked people) discovering fanfic about them!
Aether doesn't know how to use a phone so he finds out when the others are discussing it on the bus. He listens to them and has a laugh but doesn't want to know more, he finds it odd to read about himself
Cirrus secretly writes fanfic as if she were a fan and puts in just enough detail that the pack find it uncanny to read. She gets caught one day when she accidentally leaves her phone unlocked in the common room
Phantom can't read, he just looks at fanart and sometimes jacks off to it
Mountain knows about it and actively goes on ao3, sorting by explicit fics with him in. He likes to find inspiration for what to do with the ghouls next
Aurora is still learning to read but she loves when Rain reads her G rated fics as bedtime stories
Rain and Dew love reading Raindrop fics. If it's angst, they'll reenact it in front of the pack and see how long it takes until they clock their shenanigans. If it's smut, well they reenact that too and they ALWAYS leave kudos and comments on fics under the account name TheRealRainDrop
Swiss is a filthy motherfucker and just straight up gets off on it. Doesn't matter who's in it or what the tags are, he's reading it and he's jerking off to it, i don't make the rules
Cumulus pretends she isn't into it but absolutely reads all the tooth-rotting fluff as a form of escapism. It also gives her ideas on what she can do to be extra kind to the pack. Since reading she's bought a large mattress for the common room that they use for cuddle piles, and has stocked the cupboards with everyone's favourite snacks
