i entirely get why people are like "actually knights were historically land-owning nobles waging war on people" and reminding people that idealised modern conceptions of knights are not historically accurate, it's just really really funny given that people have been idealising the institution of knighthood since like. the twelfth century or earlier, go take it up with fucking chrétien de troyes

#never + nd #I’m too stubborn to walk away from anything I’ve started if I know it’s to my betterment - despite the stress it’ll cause me :/ #weirdly I hated a lot of it at the time but I really miss the study/sit exam/lather rinse repeat of it all #or maybe just the learning something new aspect tbh #I found it much easier for work related studies later in life #7 years of college and uni? did not enjoy #5 years of work related self directed study in a scientific field I was interested in? stressful but by and large a positive experience #I’m the kid who played encarta on their pc as a kid so it tracks >_>

The older I get the more I admire people who are earnestly, genuinely into whatever their thing is. I know it sounds like an annoying cliche but unless you're being cruel or hurtful there is really no need to be normal about things. The dude with the bad fake accent at the renaissance faire is having the time of his life. The people having photoshoots with their fashion dolls are loving it. The old lady with a yard unreasonably full of tacky ass lawn ornaments is having a blast, HOA be damned.

Don't waste your time being too cool to have fun, y'know?
