one of my favorite headcanons was always that Vegeta has No idea who Yamcha is by name,, Toriyama made it canon and he’s such a legend for that

not even a ship thing fully just because Most of the Z squad isn’t on his radar at all unless they were in the trenches with him on Namek

I’m pretty sure he only vaguely knows who Tien is. He’s met him like five times but you still have to say ‘the guy with three eyes’ if you want his recall to work. But Yamcha’s got no real distinguishing features he’s just a guy with some scars and Vegeta knows so many of those so you gotta say ‘the guy who got killed by a saibaman’ and listen to him laugh himself into tears and then apologize and then try to be so serious and start laughing again again because that was genuinely one of the funniest things he’s ever seen in his life and he’d 100% forgotten about it until you brought it
