This will be very useful to use when I start designing my illustrations to give me a brief idea what colours I should use in my collections based on the specific traditions and countries.
I used pro markers for this and named each colour so I know exactly which one I should use when I start my designing process.

This was a sketch I wanted to tease arch more on and focus on the traditional details of the hair jewel they wear with their clothing and know the history behind this. This is originally called kazashi.
I sketched this out that relates with a picture and improvised by adding media and visualise what colours it would be in different tones.

This is a close up of a parrot I developed through textiles that I thought would be very interesting to show the colours through and are rare to see but only in Brazil they are mainly found.
This was a picture I was working with and took inspiration from.I then decided to add more textures of colours to represent brazils beauty of bright colours in this parrot.
First I sketched out the parrot on a A4 tracing paper then chose my fabric and put wadding in between the fabrics to create a 3D effect. Then I sewed all around the shapes before working onto them with different coloured threads. The tracing paper then had to be removed carefully so I can start the embroidery. I had to build up all the different shades together and make it realistic as much as I could and have the colourful blended shades of colours. Once I had finished building the colours, I added puff binding on the face to create the wrinkly texture I was looking for and dried it off with a heater which made the puff binding rise and clump bubbles together.
I then chose a different black fabric and cut it in the shape of the beak to sew on top using a zig zag stitching for different texture and experimentation. I chose to apply real feathers for the wing using different sizes and shapes to create a natural texture a parrot has.lastly I added white leather for the nostrils and sewed this on the industrial machine carefully, then added the black details on the face with black acrilic paint.
Overall this was a very successful sample of textiles and I would most likely use this again further in my designs as it looks unique and bold. There are so many details I could possibly add to this and would Improve massively for my finals.

More research page I displayed as I experimented more in this page with clothing styles and carnaval traditions.
I created a quick idea of what the big feathered head crowns look like during the carnaval in Brazil by making my own out of feathers. I used bold colours to show more of their clothing tradition. Quick sketches of close ups, details of shoes and beaded fabrics that Brazilians would wear.
I thought displaying it this way it would look more effective and understanding to brazils traditional wear during the biggest and important carnaval to celebrate with their exquisite bright outfits.
