something I find mildly interesting is that there’s actually 0 instances of claire ever being jealous over owen within the extended universe despite multiple of him getting jealous over her. she also has had significantly more people interested in her at about a 6:1 incidents ratio between them. the only thing ever mentioned about his love life that isn’t claire related is a possible date in JWTG that he doesn’t even go on because he went out with claire instead. but the LOIN (haha) show has an entire episode dedicated to owen seething over a guy trying to flirt with her.

maisie is paralleled with the indoraptor and I don’t think the implications of this are discussed enough. because you start thinking a little bit more into the allegory and claire becomes the indominus rex and owen becomes the velociraptor. they need to give the indoraptor a mother (maisie needs her parents). the indoraptor is made from bones of the indominus (maisie is the clone of her mother, the daughter of claire). the indoraptor is raised in captivity without any guidance (maisie is trapped in a mansion her whole life). blue saves maisie from the indoraptor (claire and owen protect maisie, from herself and the world). the indoraptor is the hybridization of the indominus rex and velociraptor (claire and owen).

as someone more tomboy-esq, maisie shares a LOT of hobbies and interests with owen. they’re the type to get into dirt bike racing while claire waits at the finish line with a mimosa. claire doesnt really get the appeal of things like fishing or camping but they like to bring her along anyways

but where owen is her play buddy, claire is her emotional confidant. maisie doesn’t have any actual problems with claire, she just gets nervous around the concept of Motherhood so she acted out for a little bit. once she’s more secure around her origin, she and claire are locked in tight

and that also leads to how she acts post-biosyn cause she feels So Bad about the whole situation. she’s partially convinced claire is going to give up on her for what she said, because she’s too much work, etc. while also attempting to superglue herself to claire’s side. it takes a long time to believe claire doesn’t resent her even a little bit (esp after months of acting out)

owen teaches maisie how to cook because claire is… Very Bad at it <3 ingredient prep is as far as she gets in THEIR kitchen. bless her heart she burns spaghetti

claire does her jacket patches. karen is better at embroidery but she’s decent enough at it to do sew-ons or simple designs. maisie made the bracelet she wears in dominion as a thank you gift

in general their vibe to me always goes:

> blue, oldest and sassiest. she’s not doing anything she doesn’t want to. she doesn’t like claire very much initially but pack is pack

> echo, strong silent type. least likely to engage with visitors. probably the most difficult to engage with training exercises with because she has little interest in people

> delta, bold personality like blue but not enough to pose a massive threat. probably squabbles a bit but they’re loyal to each other. she actually likes barry more than owen

> charlie, bottom of the pack hierarchy. kind of like the baby sister you don’t take seriously. very curious and most likely to investigate when new stimulus is introduced. glutton. she loves claire :)

blue is definitely the top of the hierarchy while echo and delta hold similar middle tiers with charlie as their runt. echo doesn’t have any interest in challenging this, but delta would. charlie also doesn’t have any interest either but that’s because she’s a little oblivious so she doesn’t really comprehend that she could.

echo and charlie are the ones who’d be most fond of claire (in an au where she keeps yelling at owen over paperwork so they see her once a week). echo is a strong believer in parallel play rather than outright interaction but charlie is dying for people to pay attention to her. delta is weary of her while blue outright hates this development. she’s pissy and territorial like a daughter who’s mad about having a step-mom.
