are all three families warring with each other? or is it just the alvarez and belroses who are at each other's throats?
The Belrose Family and the Alvarez cartel are enemies. They are the warring families, while the Solanos act as a semi-neutral party. Though, they have their own internal messes to clean up.

NEW YEARS EVE, 2016. The treaty is broken and the three families war again. When Helena Belrose was found dead in her home, with a bullet through her brain next to a note written in blood, the streets of New York descended into chaos.
Everyone is out for blood.

DEATH BECOMES US – Full Timeline (25 follower goal reward)
BACK IN TIME
1919. Piero Solano lands in New York City from Italy. All he has in his pockets is the remainder of his small inheritance; it was just enough to purchase a small business property with an apartment above. It was the start of his family's legacy.
At the start of prohibition, Solano harboured his bootlegging friend, Maurice Belrose, when he was in hiding. Their nights together were spent planning the best rum-running empire the country would ever see. It didn't take much convincing for Piero to convert his little butcher shop into a speakeasy.
The Augustan, named for the first emperor of Rome, quickly became the hottest spot no one knew about. He paid off the right cops and convinced the prettiest of girls to run the tap. He played good music and had even better drinks. No one left The Augustan without a smile on their face and empty wallets.
1933. The depression hit everyone hard. Maurice and Piero had families to take care of and all of a sudden, the speakeasy and rum-running wasn't enough for them. They had men to pay and bills were stacking up. The two partners couldn't agree on a solution to their problem. Belrose wanted to cut wages and take a bigger chunk of their earnings. Solano wanted to expand, risk more for a higher reward. He didn't want to screw over those who proved their loyalty. So, they went their separate ways.
They tried to be amicable in their divorce. Honestly and truly, they tried. But, everyone knew the Augustan and the Solano name. Belrose's business flopped. Out of rage, jealousy and pettiness, he set fire to the Augustan. If Maurice Belrose couldn't be on top, no one could.
1985. Over almost half a century the Solano and Belrose crime syndicates warred as they grew. Their former partnership was long forgotten, lost in a sea of revenge and grudges. No one could let go. The Solanos stayed out of the drug trade; they left that dirty work to the Belroses and their faulty alliance with the Alvarez Cartel. Eventually, the families hit a stale mate; a cold war of sorts. No one infiltrated territories or killed without reason. Luis Solano and Norman Belrose decided the time came for a formal truce.
1995. Ten years after the alliance made between the Solano Mafia and the Belrose Crime Ring, the Alvarez Cartel made their move to New York City. The family joined in on the truce, assuring that all three families could co-exist in the city perfectly. The Alvarez Cartel would still supply the Belrose Crime Ring with drugs and would keep to trafficking and stay out of dealing in New York. While there were a few bumps and bruises along the way, the three families melded together well. New York City was their shared playground. But, greed, vengeance and old grudges would always get in the way.
2015. Stefania Alvarez went missing on Christmas Eve 2015. Without a word or note, she was gone. Three weeks later, her secret relationship with Mason Belrose Ross was discovered, re-lighting embers of anger within the two allied families. The flames laid dormant; everyone waited for the inevitable irruption.
THE QUEEN IS DEAD
New Years Eve, 2016. Helena Belrose, the head of the Belrose crime ring, was found dead in her home. A note was left behind in blood:
"we will avenge"
It was clear to her family who pulled the trigger. Ricardo Alvarez blamed them for his missing sister, something the Belroses always denied involvement in. This, along with Luis Solano's untimely death earlier in the year, made all three families unstable.
No one can predict what will happen next.
