I know it’s a silly thing to get hung up on, but it drives me crazy to read a transmigration/isekai type story with a vaguely historical setting and have the clothing style be all over the place. Is it modern or not? Why do some dresses have backs and other are backless? What is going on with sleeves and straps? Why do some characters have ballgowns and others have thigh high slits in their gowns? Is the style form fitted or intentionally built up? Relaxed or structured? Flats, slight wedge, or full on stiletto? Are ankles considered taboo or not? Idk, it’s okay to be anachronistic but it really screws with setting up a world if the fashion isn’t at least consistent.

*MIRACULOUS AWAKENING SPOILERS*

Just watched the movie and although it FED me with those ladynoir scenes, I can’t say it met my expectations. I have been waiting for this movie for a long time and i thought it would be something more than just another version of the first two episodes of the show. It felt pretty rashed (is that the word lol) and like someone was chasing them. The fighting scenes weren’t as exciting and impressive as the ones in the show, considering the budget they have for this movie. Also I felt like both hawk moths reveal and THE reveal were kinda underwhelming (it felt like adrien only fell in love/acknowledged Marinette bcz she is ladybug) and fast? Like I heard rumours that there will be a second or even a third movie of this type. What are they gonna show there when not only has gabriel stopped being hawk moth but ladybug returned the butterfly miraculous to the guardian ( although I feel like Natalie will become mayura based on the last scene). Overall I think the timing of this movie was great because it fed us starving ladynoir stans and I also LOVED the new designs it was sooo cute and I felt like it matched their age. My rating is 6/10 because I feel like they could have done better but I was still crying in almost all the songs and at the end

P.S. I’m just now realising why it is so important for adrien to fall in love with Marinette and for ladybug to fall in love with chat noir in the show ITS FOR THE BIG REVEALLLLLLLL (also I would really really like for the final season of the show to be 100% ladybug and chat noir focused but that’s another conversation)

I noticed that Yor’s earrings have similar shape to these thorn-shapes ornaments on the Shopkeeper’s hat string. Yor wear these earrings in her daily life and as Thorn Princess even before the Forgers so I’m thinking the earrings are a gift from Shopkeeper.

Her dress during the Cruise Arc also has these ornaments too!

I want to say that the thorn-shaped ornaments are Garden’s symbols but McMahon doesn’t seem to have anything like this on him. Instead, his gun has a garden shears symbol instead:

Between Yor seriously considering whether to kiss her husband when coming home and Loid going ‘tell me what’s wrong and we can try to fix it’ even before Yuri got there, it’s clear these two dolts did not get the memo on how they are not supposed to be really married. They are at home, there’s no need to pretend they are no more than roommates, after all.

But erm. I honestly don’t know what they think their partnership is to them by this point. Part of me sees Yor treating this as a bona fide marriage so if she’s to be normal she must do normal Wife Things. But? 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s kind of amazing we’re 80 chapters in and these ‘roommates’ still haven’t sorted out whether their partnership involves kissing and gripes. Don’t think they will realise anything for a long, long time.

if the holy war vs safavid actually went through, what are the chances of the church/empire winning anyway? the church is so deadset in acquiring the neuschwanstein's wealth for power and for the holy war, so with jeremy on the front lines, maybe. but we also have the chance to see princess halima's assessment in the current timeline:

so yeah, the empire as a whole was doomed the moment shuri died.

what I love about the fashion in stepmother's marchen is that it shows how fashion changes with the years (Shuri's dresses when she was 16 years old reminded me of late 18th century fashion especially the ones with the little bows in the front while her dresses two-three years later remind me of late 19th century combined with 1850-60s). I love it when the manhwa authors actually change the women's dresses when there is a time skip because then the reader can actually "feel" that some years have passed

the fashion in a stepmother's märchen, secret lady, i'll be the matriarch in this life, the broken ring : this marriage will fail anyway and marriage of convenience > other manhwas fashion
