i know this has been said to death on here but allow me a moment of earnesty when i say people care about you. people you don’t even know care about you. i have elderly customers that call at the same time every night and my whole team remembers them by name. there’s an old man who calls and tells me four knock-knock jokes every time i talk to him, and i worry when he sounds sick and i’m relieved when he sounds better the next week. there’s a woman who calls to balance her accounts every other night and i know her dog’s name even though she never remembers mine. when i drive home in the morning there is always a man walking down the sidewalk in the same place and i wonder where he is when i don’t see him. the cashier you see at your local gas station probably remembers you. your bus driver remembers you. your neighbors remember you.

hey there, i'm currently working on a feminist website and i'm looking for the help of other women to give their feedback, their opinions, and advice/expertise. the site is not published yet but it is in the development stage, and i would really like as much help as i can get as i have big plans for it and what it sets out to accomplish.

this is a website that aims to promote activism, raise class consciousness, support women of all backgrounds, organize events, share resources, and build community. there is a serious lack of infrastructure in feminist spaces and having us all shouting into the void on social media is antithetical to true feminist action. this website aims to act as a hub for ALL the wonderful resources the women on here post on their blogs, for ease-of-access and the sake of decentralization. this website also seeks to mitigate the amount of discourse and in-fighting within the community in favor of encouraging direct action, change, and connection.

young women being terrified of aging is the DIRECT result of watching middle aged women getting hated and despised by society for absolutely no reason. Because of the fact that there’s no way for middle aged women to prevent getting mocked, since anything they do is automatically hated just for being done by a middle aged woman, young women conclude that the only way to avoid this is to never appear middle aged. Which is of course impossible, but the cosmetic and plastic surgery industry is happy to capitalize on this desperate desire to stay young at any cost.
