Communication is one of the most important skills you can have as a developer.
One key thing that great communication skills unlock is your ability to translate information to different audiences.
Think about it!
If you're working with another software engineer on the exact same part of the code together, you might not need to translate much context.
What happens if you need to talk about that work with an engineer on another team?
What does it look like when you talk to your project manager or product manager about this work?
What about discussing that work with your manager?
Each audience may have dramatically different understandings of what you're talking about, but also require a different focus to derive value from it.

Software is built in teams.
That probably isn't shocking to you, right?
So why is 99% of the preparation for software engineering jobs about technical skills?
Why are we hyper-focused on technical skills at the expense of "soft" skills or human skills?
You need a baseline of technical skills, but you can't ignore the value of being able to work well with others.

Learning in public backfires when you do this...
Masquerading as an expert. People see right through it.
Be open and transparent about your learning. People will jump in to correct you and try and help you out.
You'll always have Internet trolls -- those we can't control.
But you'll build better online relationships and get more meaningful help if you're honest and transparent about your learning.
It's a great thing to practice with ownership and responsibility for when you're working in software engineering teams too!
