Are you still working on 'Pirates? in MY space? it's more likely than you think.' because I'm mentally invested for the next chapter but it's been around 6 months and I am concerned. I also have just found your tumblr and I am impressed.
ahhh the short answer is yes the long answer is updates will probably be kinda sporadic, I have part of the next chapter written and I have a plan for how it all goes college just kicks my ass so when the writing bug hits there will be an update hopefully lol

vriska’s entire character arc is just. its the trolley problem only instead of picking a way to flip the switch she tries to derail the cart because she thinks she can outsmart it and it flips off of the rails and kills everyone on both paths and also her and shes like. take that trolley problem. i win because i didnt CONFORM to your stupid RULES . bitch.

ay so I read that sylph of heart post nd I was wondering if u'd care to expand on the sylph quest/sacrifice bit?
Oh yes! Okay, so I said in that post that I have a big thing where I think for Sylphs, their quest is always gonna end in them sacrificing themselves for their consorts or something of the like, I can def elaborate on that. So, basically the biggest problem that Sylphs have to deal with is that they don’t know when enough is enough. They meddle and interfere, which Vriska complains about from Kanaya right from the beginning of us meeting the trolls, Kanaya of course being our most prominent Sylph in the series. We see this from her throughout, she has trouble knowing when exactly her help is needed and when she’s done too much. She fixates on the idea of being an auspistice, trying to intervene between both Vriska and Eridan AND Vriska and Tavros. However, these both fail because she was unable to fulfill the role she had imagined for herself/unable to live up to her own expectations, eventually stating that despite continually trying to auspistice, she finds the ashen quadrant unfulfilling. She FEELS that she needs to help in some way, but she’s not doing it for the benefit of others, she’s doing it because *she* feels she should. The primary focus of Kanaya helping others is still herself, which is why it comes across as meddling. The only other Sylph we get much of a chance to see is Aranea, but there are some clear similarities and parallels. Aranea’s arc is beautifully executed, although unfortunately shadowed by other events happening at the time. Her biggest flaw was Hubris (a quality of Light players) which was thus exemplified by her class as Sylph. She thought she could fix everything by herself, save everyone (Hubris), but she didn’t realize that the people she thought needed her kind of saving were better off left alone. The protagonist, the hero of Aranea’s story was always herself, and though she passed her plans off as “for the greater good”, it was really only to stroke her own ego, which is where she eventually failed. Sylphs have to learn when enough is enough, which is why during their quest, which is designed to help each player grow as an individual and reach their full potential, their Final Quest will always include Sacrifice. For each aspect, a Sylph will have to engage with their consorts and solve some problem between them. In each case however, the Sylph will take things too far, cross the line between help and hurt, start fussing and meddling, and begin to do more harm than good. It will be at this point that they seek the help of their Denizen, who will offer them The Choice. They can either make one final plea to their consorts to turn things around despite the high percentage of failure, or, they can sacrifice themselves in some way, though the specifics of this sacrifice will differ from aspect to aspect. By doing this, assuming the Sylph has grown enough by this point to make the right choice, they are finally doing something purely for the benefit of others. They are taking themselves truly and finally out of the picture, learning that when they help others they should not be focused on themselves. Of course their consorts will bring them to their quest bed so they can be resurrected, but the players don’t know this. Hope that explains everything, if you have any further questions/questions about specific aspects go right ahead! :)

The Signs As John Mulaney Quotes
Aries: And he was wearing reading glasses to show that time had passed.
Taurus: Why do people shush animals? They’ve never spoken!
Gemini: Shut up! You’re all gonna die.
Cancer: Top three colleges? I thought I would be dead in a trunk.
Leo:  I try to stay optimistic, even though I must admit, things are getting pretty sticky.
Virgo: Just raise your hand and be like “I think Emily Dickson’s a lesbian!” and they’re like “Partial credit”
Libra: My wife is a bitch and I like her so much.
Scorpio: 13-year-olds are the meanest people in the world.
Sagittarius: There is a horse loose in a hospital!
Capricorn: Something happened here. You hope it’s a miracle, but probably not.
Aquarius: I’ll keep all my emotions right here. And then one day I’ll die.
Pisces: I am damp all the time. I am damp now and I will be damp later. Like the back of a dolphin, my back.

I kinda love the comparison to Vriska in the sense that I sort of see their character arcs running opposite to each other? (This is all spoiler free)
Like, when we are introduced to Vriska she’s shown to be just this awful person with little to no redeeming qualities, who seemingly doesn’t care for anyone but herself and will do whatever it takes to achieve her means. As Vriska’s arc continues, she’s shown to have much more complex feelings and relationships and actually does care for and have the capacity to connect with people, and though she has done some bad stuff, she eventually reaches a moral grey area.
Whereas with Rose Quartz, she’s first shown to be the Perfect Being; Rose can essentially do no wrong. We first see her as this martyred figure up on a pedestal who was endlessly kind and patient and curious and forgiving, when in reality, she is manipulative, careless with those around her, and doesn’t understand the gravity of her actions, nor are we shown her taking responsibility for the consequences of said actions. Rose is taken down from the pedestal and shown to be more complex than this ideal martyr, and eventually reaches the same moral grey area as Vriska, but coming from the complete opposite end.
Sorry to jump in I just really liked the comparison!!
Normally I'd laugh along but no. I really can't. Imagine Rose Quartz shattering someone's legs and then demanding that they apologize to her for no longer being able to walk. Vriska is a sociopathic bully. Rose Quartz, while probably very SELFISH, consciously made a choice to never kill anyone, to celebrate life, and to defend the rights of the downtrodden rather than add to their suffering..
Did you like, not watch the new episode yet? Spoiler talk below
