anyways (I say this as someone who is deeply critical of the united states government, military, unchecked capitalism, police, etc) I am SICK of people treating america as if it has no cultural value or positives so….. I love u 85 million acres (bigger than italy) of national parks. I love u harlem renaissance. I love u groundhogs day. I love u sweet tea and fried chicken and jambalaya. I love u apple cider donuts and maizes on crisp autumn days. I love u 95k miles of coastlines and new england fisherman and hand knitted sweaters. I love u halloween where millions of people dress up and give candy to strangers and carve jack o’lanterns. I love u small talk and small towns and potlucks and bringing over casseroles to your struggling neighbors. I love u cowboys and ranch hands and arizonian cactus. I love u appalachian trail and dirtbikes and divebars. I love u sparklers and fireflies. I love u mark twain and toni morrison and emily dickinson and henry david thoreau. At first I got angry...but then noticed the usernames.

What is the probability that two users with stereotypical American male names + random numbers, who instantly reblog from each other, are real people? I say pretty darn low. Even though their blogs seem genuine at first glance, I think they are bots aimed specifically at the US audience. I think they either real people (=russian employees) or, most likely, AI. They would probably argue with you and hold the conversation pretty well if you tried to talk to them.

Be mindful people, we live in crazy times. Safer not to get into any arguments online, bots or not.

Call me a pick me, but if some creator decides to write about a minority group I belong to but that they themselves are not a part of I'll be willing to overlook small inconsequential inaccuracies as long as the big picture feels accurate and respectful. If we want more representation we can't take the burden of making all of our representation ourselves and let outsiders take a shot at it as long as they're willing to do their research and listen to feedback. And if a little nuance or detail escapes the filter of accuracy I wouldn't mind if the whole sum of its parts is still good rep.

They should really put warnings on plants that are toxic/deadly to animals like it’s pretty insidious that there are plants that could potentially kill your dog being marketed as convenient low effort plants for beginners that have no knowledge I don’t think it would even occur to the average traitor joes shopper that they’d need to even look it up for safety reasons
