Hey guys, sorry for being so inactive recently! I'm currently suffering with the coronavirus and I haven't really been in the mood for any socialising.

But I came back to ask - did anyone else just get involved with the coco watch party on twitter??? it was SO COOL - Lee Unkrich (the director of Coco) was spouting facts left, right and centre, and even the actors were getting involved! My favourite tweets were from Anthony though - 1) when he just tweeted 'CHORIZO' and 2) when he tweeted 'I ship Dante and Pepita' as if they weren't two entirely different species 😂😂

Anyway I'm going to sleep now become lungs are burning 😬✌🏻️

Daily Coco Screencap #398 This is a very powerful scene for many reasons. You’ve got the Rivera family keeping a respectful distance with looks of concern. Miguel’s transformation into a skeleton is nearly complete. Victoria’s face can be seen through Miguel’s transparent ear. The sunrise is reflected in Miguel’s anguished eyes. Dante is a colorful but sad presence in the background. The petal is glowing from the moment Hector himself attempts to give his blessing. His shaky hand is steadied by Imelda’s. She could have taken the petal from him to give the blessing, but she wants them to give it together. And a faint bit of the petal’s glow can be seen on the inside of her shoulder blade.

Imelda: Now we just have to find De la Cruz-

Ernesto: Yes...?

Imelda: ...excuse me a moment- *takes off her shoe*

Soooo I couple more things that stood out about this scene seeing it for, oh……the 79th time or so??

- Héctor basically lets Imelda tear into him for a few minutes without hardly a word in his own defense. He knows he shouldn’t have ever left, he knows it was hard on her, she’s STILL feeling the effects of it as much as he is, and I feel he’s almost too tired to do anything but let her get it all off her chest. It takes Miguel stepping in and speaking up for anything to actually progress. This kinda backs up my personal HC about their last encounter, but aside from that.

- Also I didn’t notice until I flipped through the screenshots, but look at how he shrinks away from her throughout the scene. You know they’ve had this conversation many, many times in the past 45 years or so and it always ends the same way.

- Lastly - as we’ve just seen - he definitely maintains a distance from her here. That is, until near the end of the scene –

when Imelda visually and audibly begins to crack under emotion. Héctor seems almost surprised by this and it’s only then that he moves towards her and reaches out like he wants to comfort her.
