Pretty sweet screening last night at the #hriff 20th Anniversary of the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival. LA Live was as a fun place to have this festival (if you’re going to have a festival downtown!): great crowd, great picture and great sound. Welcome to another screening of The Teleios Act and Happy St. Valentine’s Day! This Sunday, February 16th, we screen at 3:30pm with the Sci-Fi block at the Regal Cinema at LA Live next to the Staples Center. DM me for details. What a week! Just getting started and we’ve now won our 3rd festival. Didn’t expect this. Wonderful reactions from the audiences are victories all their own. This was taken right before the lights went down last week for @teleiosact and then my heart raced through every film, especially my own. It’s the fastest the movie ever felt, despite seeing it a hundred times through picture, score, VFX, and sound edits. Wish I took more shots like this from my other films, I’ll be sure to remedy that. It also helps that EJ threw my phone 📱 in the toilet 🚽 and only the selfie 🤳 camera 📷 works now. Very thankful to the Moving Picture Institute (MPI) for hosting an amazing and intensive cinematography experience. Man, I got to work with some awesome people and we got some real pros to show us what’s what via Peter Moss, Amy Vincent, and Natasha Braier. Totally wiped and totally worth it. MPI is a class act organization, truly wonderful being associated with all the fine people over there and the fellows I get to bond with. First time at the Opera for “La Traviata!” When we planned for this show several moths back, I was truly hoping I’d love it. But, I heard that many find them boring or long. Alas, for a first timer, I was not disappointed and I hope to make it a regular outing with Annalisa. One thing I was not expecting were the subtitles (or top titles) above the stage for those of us who don’t speak Italian. I understand a little, but read up on the Opera beforehand. What phenomenal singing! What precious and rare talent that exists; to fill a theater with a voice and passion, so much passion! Those Italians are so dramatic!! Love it! Arrivederci!
