Spoilers ahead for the Fallout series. I don't get into a lot of detail, but it involves spoilers for the last episode. Be warned.

Just finished the last episode of season one and there's SO MUCH. I want to freak out so badly.

I had to force myself to not yell when I saw New Vegas in the distance. The only thought in my head and the only thing I could say was "Not my New Vegas."

Aww man, I know there's been a lot of issues and controversies over this show, and I really don't know the half of what's going on, but holy crap does that set up so much.

Could we see a courier? (Could be tough narrowing such a broad character to one idea). Maybe we'll see Ulysses? Given the fact that I'm pretty sure this is well after the events of New Vegas, I'm gonna guess the Battle for Hoover Dam has already happened, but who knows which group won in the show. Maybe it didn't happen. Could the Boomers, Followers, that brotherhood faction, (and maybe even so many companions people who've played FNV have grown attached to.) I know the Enclave was mentioned and had a part in NV, and there's so much more that can be done.

I normally don't get so hype about all of this, and the last show I was so excited and going crazy about was The Last of Us, and I watched that show before I played the game.

There is so much potential here and I'm beyond excited and so unbelievably nervous. I know they showed Robert House, and I'm kinda excited to see where they take it. Is Vegas still under his thumb? Could the Courier become this faceless legend?

I'm so fricken excited this is insane. Oh man, oh man oh man. Still my only thought is "Not my New Vegas." Don't you touch anything Vault-tec! You've done enough. (Also I know the major idea is it does not matter who dropped the bombs, but the idea that they did it themselves honestly makes so much sense, and pulls the argument away from people trying to blame specific countries in the fallout universe.) there's just so much here and I'm still in shock kinda, so my thoughts are being fumbled. But holy crap I need someone to freak out about this with or something. Gosh darn it! Time to watch some YouTube videos lmao.

Also also: deathclaw skull. I've been shouting for deathclaws since I started and I can't wait!!!! They better do those beasties justice, because I know FNV and fallout 3 had some nasty deathclaws. Oooooo I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!

Oh! And I found Thaddeus' situation weird so I looked for a discussion and I saw people giving the theory of him turning into a super mutant, and that makes a lot more sense to me than him becoming a ghoul. Would be awesome to see some super mutant action!

Thanks for the tag @alidravana i haven't been writing much in the last week or so, but I did have an idea earlier and I had to write it down. It is not seven sentences.....that probably breaks the rules but uh......sometimes it's ok to break the rules? (I'm so sorry in advance. I tried to keep it contained I swear.)

I'm gonna tag @tokillamockingbird427 @simonxriley (only if you want to do it. Don't feel obligated) and anyone else who wishes to partake.

It's a lot more than seven sentences and I'm so sorry. The last time I did one of these was years ago surely, but I certainly didn't get carried away lmao.

He's following so close behind him Soap can practically feel his breath against the back of his neck as they enter the Prince's room.

"Why did you lie about your blood, Soap?" His voice is calm, but not level. There's a faint hint of wavery there; nervousness perhaps? Surely it couldn't be fear. Surely his Prince doesn't fear him.

He lets out a heavy sigh, rubbing aggressively at his brows before turning to face the younger man. Without a word, he steps forward, and Hesh in his ever unending stubbornness, straightens his back and levels his stern gaze upon his Guard.

A soft huff escapes Hesh's lips when Soap's forehead connects with his shoulder. The two stand in silence for a short while before the older man breaks it. "Hold me." He states.

Hesh furrows his brows, gazing down at the man. "...I am." He whispers, unsure why he switched.

Soap lets out a soft chuff. "No, hold me. Support me. Wrap your arms around me and allow me to rest my body upon yours."

He certainly finds it an odd request, but most definitely not the strangest the man has ever requested. "Alright." He answers, carefully wrapping his arms around Soap's shoulders, squeezing softly at his biceps.

Suddenly, things shift, and he feels as if the weight of the entire world is on his chest. His knees shake and buckle as he clings to Soap, his feet desperately trying to offer some way to prevent him being crushed. It feels as if his bones could crack and shatter any minute, as if his body could give way and he'd just be crushed, flattened, forced to sink through the Earth long after he died.

Then it's gone, Soap's weight, his warmth. He's standing at the far end of the room now, hand grasping desperately as the window sill.

Hesh's breaths come out ragged and broken, his lungs still feeling compressed. "What....what was that?" He croaks, clearing his throat as he attempts to walk over to the other man. His legs tingle numbly, sharp pricks of pain shoot from his toes to his thighs and back down again. What was that?

Soap turns, letting out a weighted sigh as he takes in the sight of his Prince. "That was a minuscule sliver of my full potential. My full strength, my full weight." He steps forward, his fingertips lightly caressing Hesh's hand. The soft strokes of his thumb pad against his knuckles almost seems to ease his numbness and pain, but how could that even be possible? "I swear to you, that one day when the time is right, the truth will bleed from my lips like water from a fall." He offers a nod, and Hesh swears he can see for the faintest of moments, some thin veil of silver and gold thread connecting the two of them together.

not to be controversial bc I know this is like…not in line with shifting opinions on fanfic comment culture but if there’s a glaring typo in my work I will NOT be offended by pointing it out. if ao3 fucks up the formatting…I will also not be offended by having this pointed out…

‘looking forward to the next update’ and ‘I hope you update soon!’ are different vibes than a demand, and should be read in good faith because a reader is finding their way to tell you how much they love it. I will not be mad at this.

‘I don’t usually like this ship but this fic made me feel something’ is also incredibly high praise. I’m not going to get mad at this.

even ‘I love this fic but I’m curious about why you made [x] choice’ is just another way a reader is engaging in and putting thought into your work.

I just feel like a lot of authors take any comment that’s not perfectly articulated glowing praise in the exact manner they’re hoping to receive it in bad faith.

fic engagement has been dropping across the board over the last several years, and yes it’s frustrating but it isn’t as though I can’t see how it happens. comment anxiety can be a real thing. the last thing anyone wants to do is offend an author they love, and that means sometimes people default to silence.

idk where I’m going with this I guess aside from saying unless a comment is outright attacking me I’m never going to get mad at it, and I think a lot of authors should feel the same way. ESPECIALLY TYPOS PLZ GOD POINT OUT MY TYPOS.

🌲 Kindest thing your OC has done for someone: feel like for this one I'm really gonna have to think long and hard because the thought has never occured to me before.

I'd say the nicest thing Scotty has ever done for someone wasn't actually related to his team for once, and instead directed towards others in need.

Whenever he was off duty, since he couldn't return home, he'd volunteer at different shelters or rehabilitation places to help those in rough situations and mindsets. He wanted to help those in similar positions to what he was once in, and also he sometimes saw his parents in the people needing rehabilitation or who needed help recovering from addictions. He knew he could never undo what he did to his father, but he thought that maybe if he could help others in the ways he could not help his parents, then maybe he could move on and be forgiven.

Nicest thing done for him: I'd say the nicest thing someone has ever done for him (in his eyes) is simply be there. Soap(or Price depending on the version) pulls him out of a bad situation with a different team. The captain was a POS and Scotty was damn close to a discharge that would not have been good. Soap managed to get the necessary people convinced to hand him over. People were confused why Soap wanted him, and then were angry when they saw how well Scotty performed and everything he could do. He just needed proper leadership. Scotty's always been a little lost, never quite fitting in until the 141. Soap saving him from himself and others was the kindest thing that ever happened to him. Later when they rescued Price, Scotty immediately fell in line behind him. He respects and admires Price and Soap. They're important to him.

Worst thing he's done to someone else: I'd say the worst thing Scotty has ever done to another person (aside from killing people for a living) is beat the shit out of his father. He ran away to the military after doing so, but he beat his father so close to death that when the man recovered he did not seek any action against his son because he was so petrified. After years and years of torment from both his parents, Scotty finally had enough, and during one of his parents drunken nights where he was almost attacked, he finally loses it. He grabs his father's bottle, smashes it on his head and proceeds to bash at the man's face, arms, anything and everything he can reach. He then pummels at his father's face while his mother screams and sobs from the corner. It's only when his father's near non-existent breathing manages to reach him over the pounding in his ears that he stops. He nearly just killed his father. He can't ever recognize his father's face and there's glass and blood everywhere. He leaves after that, grabbing nothing by his cross, his Bible a friend had gifted him, and a photo of his old dog. He never returned and he never sought his family out again. He's grateful they never sought action against him, but he knows it's because they were scared. He was scared too, and every so often has a nightmare where he relives what he did.

He hates himself for it.

🌾 What would your OC be like if they were evil?

Usually this is a thought that I apply to my characters but I hadn't thought of anything for Scotty. To be completely honest, if he were ever to be "evil", I truly believe he'd resemble Shepherd to some degree. That kind of action derived from such a horrible moment in Shepherd's past is something that Scotty can understand. Your men, your people were killed. 30k of them with a nuke and the world just watched. That kinda shit changes you. If something similar happened to Scotty, I can see him feeling similarly. Now would be so exactly what shepherd did? I don't think so, but I wouldn't put it past him to kill anyone who got in his way or was responsible.

So I guess what I'm saying in regards to "what would they be like if they were evil?", is that he'd be angry. Full of rage and pain. He'd want to hurt those he deems responsible for whatever situation happens. There are a lot of different definitions for evil, but Scotty is definitely one of those "destroy the world to save who he loves" type of guys. He may not act like it, but there's a lot of darkness behind those eyes.

🌼 Describe one of yours OCs worst nightmares.

Well "worst nightmare" can be taken two ways, and as I accidentally got its meaning literally the first time, im gonna give two answers.

1. One of his worst nightmares is definitely losing the 141, specifically Soap as he's the one who saves Scotty and is like a big brother to him. (Though in some versions it's Price who saves him) But they're all his family. He loves Price, Soap, Gaz, Roach and Ghost. They're his people, his family. They're all he has and due to his past he does have recurring nightmares of them dying. He also has a massive fear of drowning, and before joining the 141 he would have dreams of drowning almost every night. Then he met his team and it slowly shifted to losing his team. He's forced to watch them die and then wakes up before he himself dies. These dreams slowly fade as he gets used to his team, and since he knows how capable they all are he doesn't have them as much. That's not saying he doesn't still have them though, multiple nights per week he still manages to have varying nightmares about losing them, and it just leaves him worn down.

2. The "Worst nightmare" in the non literal sense I guess, would still be very similar. Losing his team, or anyone he loves. He's always found it hard to connect, and that no one has ever really understood him. They find him weird, odd, reclusive. They question his scars, his often jittery nature and overall hyper vigilance. The 141 takes him in and he manages to relax a bit. He still maintains hyper vigilance, especially in precarious situations, but when it's just his team his much calmer. So his worst nightmare, both literal dream wise and reality wise, are losing the 141. His team, his family. He doesn't talk about it, feels it makes him weak, but they're his family. He's never had a proper family, they're the first one he's ever gotten to experience.

I have a few OCs, but I've been writing for Scotty a lot lately so I'm doing this for him. Love my lil angry lad. He's my og Modern Warfare OC.

These are all from this ask list.

🍃 Describe a regular day for your OC. What is their schedule? (if they have one)

On Scotty's days where he isn't on duty, he often gets up between 7-8 am. He'll either do a few situps and or pushups in his room before grabbing something to eat. He'll try to get away with eating something quick (and definitely not good for him) but if Soap catches him, he makes Scotty eat something good. Sometimes he'll force a "proper Scottish" breakfast on poor Scotty. He just wants to go chill.

He doesn't do much else. He'll work out some more, read, sometimes he draws but he's a bit envious of Soap and his skills. He saw Soap's journal so he tried taking it up (lil copycat). Occasionally he'll write about his day, but he finds it weird and annoying so he doesn't often bother. He'll hang out or chill with his team when he can, and has grown a decent relationship with one of the older 141 members. Scotty thinks Gaz is pretty cool.

Idk if this counts as a "schedule". He doesn't really have one. Aside from wake up, work out a bit, eat, do life stuff etc.

🌹 Does your OC have any scars? How and when did they get them?

Yes. He has a few hidden ones (under his uniform/clothes) but he also has two tiny eyebrow scars on his left eyebrow. His eyebrow scars he doesn't remember getting. He thinks the scars are from his childhood, since it was rather rough. He also hit his head a few times climbing as well.

He has a few small ones on his arms, a decent sized one on his left bicep from when he fell out of a tree and a sharp part gouged into his arm when he went to catch himself.

There's a scar from a gunshot wound on his lower left side of his abdomen, and an exit scar on the opposite side. He also has a few other miscellaneous scars from different events during his childhood and missions.

🌻 What advice would your OC give to their younger self? What advice does your OC need now?

For advice to his younger self: "Don't give up hope. It may sound cheesy but it'll help you get through these years until you're old enough to leave." And "Find a proper family away from your home. Don't seek out the first people you see and expect them to care, find that proper family. The team that'll look out for you and not judge you for your past."

The advice Scotty needs now would involve letting go. It's not healthy to hold onto the pain of his past. He needs to move on from his biological family, and to continue moving forward with the family he's found with the 141. Also he needs to eat less instant food and more proper food. Get a proper diet damnit. Soap will put Scotty right.
