Genuinely why is it that when I'm laying on my right side getting my eyes to focus on my phone screen (or other things but phone is most common) isn't much of an issue, but the same thing when I'm laying on my left side is a pain in the ass and very very quickly causes discomfort (not exactly pain but like, the physical sensation strain), and also can't actually get them to focus properly or as much as I can when I lay on my right???

#I forget a lot that this is a Thing for me cause I tend to lay on my right in those times out of habit #but sometimes something will prompt me to switch sides or just start out on my left and then I have to go Oh Yeah #bullet point number ?? on random things about my existence that may or may not be some level of concerning and fuck if I know enough to #figure it out

In the end, if children bother you for sensory reasons and that's why you don't want them to be in the same public spaces as you, there are disabled adults who can and would cause the same sensory issues for you. Adults who are loud, who vocally stim, who have poor boundaries, poor hygiene, who cry in public, etc etc etc. And they're already socially ostracized for all of this.

So actually yeah, it's the bare minimum you can do for the group with the least human rights on the planet to figure out how to accept children as part of your public community without hating them for it, even if you are child-free yourself.

#as someone who does have some sensory issues that very young kids in particular are likely to set off #THIS #I know sensory issues suck I know a kid talking ''too loud'' or nonstop in that high voice of theirs can be physically painful I know the #noise cancelling headphones don't muffle the sound of that tantrum happening in the next aisle enough i know that kid's meltdown can be #the last straw in sending you into total sensory overload and maybe you're own meltdown I *know* you can't always just walk away BUT #sensory issues do not and *can not* ever outweigh someone's right to exist or exist in public #and this would be true regardless of the existence of adults who would set off the same sensory issues #anyway it's like. genuinely disturbing how many people seem to not understand (or be willing to accept) that ''I personally don't like kids' #can coexist with ''kids have just as much a right as I do to exist in the same places as me'' and having compassion for them (and the #adult(s) taking care of them)

good sensations can sometimes be extreme, and i know i personally enjoy a good few of those, so i wanted to know which of these types of pain are the most commonly enjoyed :)
