Sorry for my inactivity. I’ve been traveling a lot lately and also dealing with some things emotionally. However, I am feeling better and am here to remind everyone that today is the final day to submit detectives! As for when the form will close, I usually go to bed at around 5 am EST (I have insomnia) and will close it around then. Tomorrow I’ll be updating the list and doing the math to see if I need to do any qualifier polls/ double checking to see if there’s any characters that I think are stretching the rules a little and finalizing who’s in.

Hello

What is your favorite YouTube video! Is it me at the zoo? Is it a playthrough of an obscure video game? Is it the first episode a an indie animated series. I wanna know! And that’s why I’m creating this tournament. To not only find a bunch of great videos but also to find out which of those is the best video!! The rules are underneath

Believe it or not I don’t watch that many YouTubers so I might not know if something is problematic. If you want something removed message me about it.

Is there a difference for you between spies and detectives? Like if I submit a spy that solves a crime by following clues, is that a detective? Explain your definition in MLA format

Yeah, I’ll allow spies if they’re the kind of spies who actually investigate by using evidence and or interrogating people and other detective techniques. If they just do action movie stuff and shoot people, that doesn’t count.

Hi !

If you don't mind answering -you look quite busy !- , what would you consider being a good reason to pair off characters ?

Is it like, conjoined twins / characters never apart / members of a team / married investigators / another mystery option ?

I am indeed pretty busy and am just about to go to bed, but I’ll answer this before I forget. The main argument I’ve seen people making in the submissions is for characters who are primarily together in the media they appear in and are almost always seen investigating together. Some examples from submissions I’ve gotten is Sam and Max and Tuppence and Tommy (a married couple and two of the more obscure Agatha Christie detectives.) But if you have another reason feel free to argue for it in the submission form.

would it be ok to submit a character whose status as detective is technically a spoiler? Like if they get a detective job fairly late into their source media :)

Go right ahead. If necessary I’ll evaluate the character and see how much of a spoiler it is/how recent/popular the media is and see if including them won’t spoil too many people.

A submitter argued that all of Mystery Inc. from Scooby Doo should be together and I’m compelled by their argument, plus it would help with the overwhelming number of submissions. However, I will leave this up to democracy.
