When May and Pepper get kidnapped, Tony and Peter must come together and save them.
Ao3 Link here
It was a normal day where Pepper was with a friend getting her lunch according to the text that Tony had got. He had not asked about who the person she was out with was but she had a feeling that it was someone that he knew since she said they would be talking about one of the interns. Since Pepper only talked about one intern ever since she only spoke about that intern and saw that intern on a regular basis, he knew it was someone he trusted. He was having a normal day though in the lab when it happened. One minute he was enjoying working in the lab and then the next thing he knew he was getting an alert from Happy about the incident. Next thing he knew, Tony was in security talking with Happy and another person who was supposed to be on Pepper’s security team but had not done his job well enough because his fiancee and her associate were taken from the restaurant and were now being ransom for cash.
“What do we know about the situation?” Tony asked.
“Pepper and May were eating lunch when the men came in and grabbed them. They stormed the place and seemed to be taking everything over when the police arrived. From what we can gather four men took Pepper and May out the back and into a van with no plates. They were driven away from the scene as the others were taken into custody. We believe the four men hired the others to believe that it was an armed robbery but they were actually there to take Pepper,” the man on Pepper’s security said. Tony nodded before he thought back to the name May.
“I already have pulled May’s nephew from school and he is on route. He doesn't know what is happening. I figured it would be best to wait until he arrives to tell him what was going on with his aunt,” Happy said. Tony’s realization came then. Peter Parker was on his way and May Parker was kidnapped with his wife. The kid would be devastated if anything happened to May. She was the only parent he had left. The only Parker besides himself. Tony saw Peter as his kid but he knew the kid did not see himself as a father figure. Probably a good thing since he wasn’t the best role model at times. Give last week for example when he blew up the lab and had a lecture from his fiancee because he was half asleep and mixing dangerous chemicals again. Not to mention his past.
“I will tell the kid,” Tony said, figuring it would be better for him to tell the kid then for the kid to hear from someone else.
~
Peter Parker had gone to school like normal. He wished May goodbye as she had a off-day today. A rarity in the Parker household but something that he enjoyed to hear. May was talking about an interview she had at noon. He was a bit excited. May had been talking about this new job that would help them out and give her more time to volunteer at FEAST then she had before. May was excited for the opportunity. Peter was as well. His aunt worked so hard and he wanted her to have more time for him and the things she loved to do which was helping anyone who would need help.
“Today feels too normal,” Ned said when he saw Peter. Peter agreed but normal was nice sometimes. It was comfortable. He even found out he got an A on his APUSH test when he was called to the office. He hadn’t expected to see the man who was looking at him with concern as he told him that he was taking him to see Mr. Stark. Peter nodded as he followed by saying goodbye to the secretary who just smiled at him with a fake smile. He noticed her eyes seemed concerned for him. Once in the car he tried asking the man but he wouldn’t tell him anything. He would have to wait, he guessed. Once at the tower he was led to a room he had never been in before where Tony, Happy, and some other guy were discussing stuff.
“Peter,” Tony said, looking at him with concern. Concern that was making him worried. Was this an avenger leave threat? He was contemplating what to ask when Tony asked him to sit down. He did as he looked at Happy who looked just as concerned.
“Kid, we got to talk,” Tony said. His father figure was concerning him now. Not that Tony saw him as a son.
“What’s wrong?” Peter asked.
“Pepper was kidnapped earlier today as well as the person she was having lunch with,” Tony said. Peter knew that Pepper being missing is an avengers level threat in Tony’s mind.
“So you need Spider-Man’s help to find her?” Peter asked. “I can think of a few empty warehouses….” Tony put a hand on his shoulder stopping Peter from saying anymore.
“Her associate was your aunt,” Tony said. Peter froze. May was missing and Tony didn’t know where she was. He started to feel the panic as Tony pulled him close into a hug. Something he had once wanted. He just wishes the situation was different. Tony held him saying everything would be okay as he held onto him.
“I got an idea on where they might take them. The group was a group we have been watching for a while now in fear that they might grab Ms. Potts. This group hates Stark Industries. They call themselves Friends Against Killer Evils,” the other man explained. Happy turned away not saying anything but Peter felt that he heard a chuckle from the man. Was the name really that funny?
“They do have one empty warehouse they bought recently,” the man explained. Tony said that they would start there as he told Peter to suit up. Peter did as he was told not wanting to upset Tony.
~
Tony knew the kid was upset but he knew that working as Spider-Man did a lot for him. It helped him through the worst and the best. He told the kid that they would find May and Pepper. He just didn’t know how they would be when they found him. They arrived at the warehouse and slipped in to find that it was mostly empty besides a tv that was playing a live feed of Pepper and May handcuffed in a room. Peter watched in horror not that Tony would notice under the mask, He just sensed the kids feelings. A note by the tv said pay up before time runs out and Tony couldn’t let his kid see anymore as he pulled him out of the room.
“What do we do now?” Peter asked about May and Pepper. Tony lifted up the face mask of the Iron Man suit so Peter could see his face.
“We will find them and we will save them. Like we always do,” Tony said, smiling at his kid. Peter nodded as he noticed the fear in Tony’s eyes. Tony was just as worried as Peter. His fiancee was out there in trouble and he had no clue where she was.
“The feed was live so they can’t be that far. Do you think someone on security was working with the captures and might have used a Stark warehouse?” Peter asked. Tony smiled at his kid. Peter was a genius and someone on security was getting fired soon. Tony told the kid of the nearest Stark Warehouse which they arrived at. The two waited outside listening and not hearing anyone as they snuck in. Peter stopped next to Tony as the two hid behind a box as they saw something they weren’t expecting.
“How long until they get here?” May asked Pepper.
“It might be a while. I don’t know how long until Tony thinks of the Stark Warehouse,” Happy said.
“Think they realized yet,” Pepper said.
“Those two? They might both be geniuses but they can’t seem to grasp that they see each other as father and son. Hopefully they will before they get here so we don’t have to create another scenario like this one,” May said. Tony and Peter looked at each other.
“You see me as a father,” Tony said as Peter said, “You see me as a son.” They both said yes sheepishly as Tony came up with an idea and told his kid.
~
Peter was enjoying his ice-cream with Tony when Happy, May, and Pepper got to the tower.
“We left you some dinner,” Tony said. “I made spaghetti like Mom used to make.” The three watched the two confused.
“I thought you would be worried out of your mind,” Pepper said.
“I was until we found out it was a ruse,” Tony said. May and Pepper looked at each other as Peter asked if they could watch a movie tonight.
“Don’t you have school tomorrow,” Tony said.
“So?” Peter said. Tony looked at him before he caved in and agreed.
“I will get Bruce to write you a doctor’s note. It has been a long day anyways thanks to some people,” Tony said. “Anyone else want to join us for a movie and popcorn?” May and Pepper agreed. Happy said he couldn’t but then Peter did his puppy dog eyes and he agreed. The five of them sat there with Peter cuddled up to Tony and Pepper on his other side. Happy sat along as May sat next to her nephew. The group stayed like that as they watched the movie. Peter and Tony falling asleep as May and Pepper smiled at their boys. They were a family. A small family but one that was built from pain and suffering. Through connections instead of blood. Even Happy realized how important the family was to him as he watched them sleep. Rhodey would later come and find the five asleep in the living room and roll his eyes but stay smiling seeing the family that he was a part of as Tony was a brother to him. Sometimes families were raised together and sometimes they found each other like the Stark-Parker family did. To be honest, in Tony’s mind this family was better than the one from his childhood. For Peter, it was nice to have a family after losing everyone and a father figure after what he lost before.

Relationships: Peter Parker & Tony Stark
Characters: Peter Parker, Tony Stark, Morgan Stark, Pepper Potts
Summary: Peter has an accident while ice skating with Morgan.
Being at The Stark’s lake house was like a new christmas tradition for Peter and Aunt May. Ever since the snap had wiped out half of all life in the universe, and Tony had fixed it by bringing everyone back. Tony and Peter had become closer than ever before, especially when Peter woke up one christmas morning with adoption papers carefully placed in the top of his stocking. Peter suspected he’d cried more than he had ever done before, but never as much as when he lost his parents or uncle Ben.
Tony had become his parent, his Dad. He filled the big father shaped gap that had opened up inside his heart, but he’d never replace his dad or uncle Ben. They were all different in their own way, and Tony was more than enough to make him feel happy again. He finally felt somewhat complete, and it was nice.
Peter and Aunt May spent every Christmas down at the lake house, from the minute Peter got out of school on Christmas break, he was at the lake house. And this year was no different.
Pushing open the front door to the house, Tony was right there to welcome him in. “Hey Pete, Merry Christmas kiddo.” Tony hugged him, wrapping both arms as tightly around Peter as possible. Aunt May scooted around them, dragging their heavy bags of luggage. “Don’t try to help or anything guys.” She chuckles teasingly, looking fondly at the both of them while they hug. She drops the bags on to the floor and goes back to shut the door.
“Are we gonna get to bake those reindeer cookies I found Dad.” The name feels weird coming out of his mouth, even after the two years he’s been saying it.
Tony nods, “Sure thing Spider-Baby, just as long as we get to bake Spider-Man and Iron man cookies too. And you go ice skating with your little sister.”
“Of course I’ll go ice skating with Mo, I’ve been looking forward to that all year.” As soon as he’d said it, Morgan came sliding into the hallway from the living room, the trail of her Elsa dress billowing behind her. She runs straight for Peter, little arms wrapping around his legs. He pats her head gently, “Hey Mo, I haven’t seen you for a while. Are you ready to go ice skating?”
She nods heavily, “Yeah Petey! I put my Elsa dress on especially, I have an Anna wig for you too.” With that she grasps the tips of his fingers, (her hands too small to grip his whole hand) and drags him out of the room. Tony watches on with a fond smile before moving to help May unpack their bags.
Peter follows on dutifully, not having to rush to follow her. She doesn’t say anything even when Peter asks “Where are we going Mo?” She drags him all the way through the house, even past Pepper where she’s perched on the sofa reading something on her phone. She smiles when he passes, chuckling lightly when he’s dragged away too fast for him to offer her anything more than a rushed wave and a kind smile.
She drags him right out of the house and straight towards her small tent, it’s chilly and the big brother part of him kicks in. Knowing Morgan’s only got a thin layer of fabric covering her arms. He tries to tug his hand away to suggest that they go and get coats, but her excited face when she pulls him into the tent stops that. She zips it up before turning to him, “I have a dress too. But you don’t have to wear that.” She turns around again, and picks up the dress. It’s glaringly obvious that the dress is too small, it would never fit him in his wildest dreams. But he smiles and forces the small thing over his neck, the farthest it goes is stretched across his chest. The sleeves don’t go all the way down his arms, and the dress gets stuck when he tries to push it any further down.
Even though he probably looks ridiculous, Morgan’s still not done. “There’s just a few more things Petey.” She smiles in her own innocent excitable way, picking up the small ginger wig with two plaits. She forces it over his head, smiling happily when it sits crookedly on the top of his head. He feels like giggling, but manages to hold the laughter in. She goes to pick something else up, and Peter realises she’s got multiple lipsticks and various pieces of makeup laying across the floor of the tent. She picks up one of the lipsticks, a bright pink one. She shakily draws across his lips, before she stops, nodding in affirmation.
She slaps some pink powder on his cheeks, before putting something on his eyes when she tells him to shut them. When he opens them, there’s a small portable mirror being forced into his face. He takes it hesitantly, before staring at his reflection. The lipstick is a mess, some of it on his lips, but the rest shakily drawn across his skin and parts of his cheeks. As for his eyes, she’s put eyeshadow on him, but it looks more like a spray of dust or a cloud than eyeshadow. He can’t help but giggle slightly.
Peter’s only just started trying to do Morgan’s makeup, when he hears the crunching of grass steadily getting closer to the tent. It stops right outside the flap before the zip’s being undone, and his Dad’s head is popping through the gap. It seems to take a few seconds for the shock to pass, and the scene before him to properly register. He pulls out of the tent only to guffaw loudly, making Peter blush all the way to the tips of his ears. His laughter doesn’t die down when he pops his head back in and then his whole body. He’s still chuckling when he sits down in front of them, and it only slightly increases when he sees the large blush growing across Peter’s face. “Oh Pete.” he says between laughs. Before long Peter’s chuckling too and tears are streaming down his face because he’s laughing so hard. They laugh heartily for a while, before it dies down. Peter wiping at the tears already starting to dry on his face.
Morgan just looks bewildered, staring at the both of them like they’d grown a second head. “What’s wrong with it, I think he looks pretty!” she sticks her nose up, to show that she’s annoyed. Tony chuckles at it, before pulling her into his side. “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the way he looks, I just think the makeup looks funny. You did a great job, I’d even let you do my makeup monkey.”
“Really?!” she shouts it at the top of her lungs, bouncing up and down excitedly.
The smile that warms his face is large and unstoppable “Of course mongoose.”
“Let’s do it now!” she dives for the makeup scattered across the fabric floor of the tent. But Tony stops her from getting any further than picking up a lipstick, by pulling her back into his side. She relaxes into him, but not before struggling slightly.
“You have to go Ice skating with your brother first, bambina. Then you can do my makeup. Why don’t you go find your ice skates, hmm.” She nods vigorously in response, before scurrying out of the tent and straight towards the house.
When she’s gone, Tony turns to him and his eyes widen. “What have I gotten myself into kid?” He looks slightly worried, but more happy than anything. Peter can’t help but chuckle.
When Morgan comes running back outside, she’s got two pairs of ice skates stacked in her arms. Which Tony quickly removes before she cuts herself, “Mommy told me to bring out Peties too.” She looks proud of herself, and takes her ice skates away from her dad and starts to put them on. Peter does the same, pulling them on and tying them up excessively until they're almost impossible to undo again.
Once the both of them are ready, they make their way over to the frozen lake. As Peter’s trying to help Morgan step out onto the ice, he hears Tony shout from behind him that he’s going inside. He pays it no mind and carries on with helping Morgan. Once she’s on safely, he steps on himself. He takes her hand firmly, and begins to skate around the lake with her. She seems to lose her balance a couple of times, but Peter rights her and they have lots of fun.
Peter smiles when Morgan looks up at him excitedly, after she’d done a small spin. He’d helped her of course, but she looked proud and he was proud of her too. He did a spin himself, and then held both of Morgan’s hands and helped her spin with him. He’d been waiting for so long, and it was more than worth it. Especially seeing the excited faces Morgan made.
It all seemed to go drastically wrong, when he spun again and his right foot hit the ice. He felt it give way beneath him, the ice cracking and his foot monetarily dipped into freezing cold water before he pulled it back up. He went to back away, but then the ice underneath Morgan began to break away too. He grabbed her firmly around the waist and slid her across the ice until she was safely on the grass at the side of the lake. But not accounting for which way he was leaning, he lost his balance and fell straight into the ice. It gave way easily, dropping him into the freezing lake.
Time seemed to stop the moment he hit, the harsh coldness of the water making the breath in his lungs leave hastily. He tried to keep his head above water, but the coldness of the water made his limbs tired, and before long he felt his eyes slipping shut, and his body floating down and down.
🕷
Tony had just been helping May unpack some of Peter’s clothes. Folding them up and putting them in the large wardrobe shelves fitted into the wall. He only bought the best for his kids. The pleasant silence was interrupted by Morgan running into the room screeching. “Help! Petie’s in trouble.” Before she ran straight back out of the room again.
“What is it magoona?” Tony called after her, not really expecting any answer. He followed her though, as fast as possible all the way through the house and out the back. Morgan was standing at the edge of the lake, staring down at it. “Where’s Peter Mo?”
She lifted her hand, and pointed with a tiny finger to the large hole steadily cracking and expanding. “Down there.” He felt the air leave his lungs in a big woosh, his heart momentarily stopping in its normal rhythm of beating. He didn’t waste a second after that, diving straight through the hole in the ice and into the water. It didn’t take him long to see the dead weight of Peter floating further down. He lunged for him and grabbed him by the back of the stupidly too tight Anna dress and pulled back to the surface. He jumped straight out of the lake, and pulled him back to the grassy verge.
He laid him flat on his back, taking in his appearance. The ginger wig had long been lost in the depths of the lake. He pulled at the stupidly tight dress, and watched in satisfaction and relief when it ripped in half, stopping it from constricting Peter’s chest even more than he needed right now. He felt for a pulse at Peter’s neck, and was even more relieved to find the steady thrum of his heartbeat. But looking at his chest, he could see that it wasn’t expanding. That he wasn’t breathing. He leant down, pinching Peter’s nose and breathing into his mouth. He watched as his chest expanded once, twice before Peter bucked against him and Tony moved out of the way. He rolled him onto his side as he coughed and choked up grimy lake water.
“You’re never doing that to me again. You hear me kid?”
It was obvious looking at him, that he couldn’t hear him. His throat harshly convulsing as he choked up mouthfuls of grimy lake water. When he was finished he slumped back to the ground, gasping for breath. His eyes rolled lazily, not focusing on anything until they landed on Tony. He weakly choked out “I’m sorry, I had to save her.” He coughed, the sound small but harsh.
Tony smiled, pride swelling large in his chest. He stroked a gentle hand down the kid’s face, his thumb stroking his damp cheek. “I’m proud of you Pete.” He watched as his eyes slid shut as a weak smile warmed his face.
The happy moment between them didn’t last long, not when a shiver wracked Peter’s frame. It was harsh, and served to nudge Tony into realising that it was completely possible for Peter to get hypothermia if he wasn’t quick. Peter’s thermoregulation issues pushing to the forefront of his mind. He didn’t waste a moment before scooping his kid up into his arms.
When he ran into the house, his kid firmly held to his chest. He was met with the pale worried face of May, Pepper standing just behind her. May’s face turned even paler when her eyes glanced across Peter’s body. His skin a deadly shade of white, he was shivering harshly, so bad it looked like he was seizing. Tony pushed past them, straight for the warmest room in the house. Which just so happened to be his own room, he laid the kid down on the bed. Pulling the blankets up over the kids frame.
He raced for the linen cupboard in the hallway, pulling out multiple blankets. The fluffiest ones he had. He piled them all on top of Peter, snuggling him like a warm burrito. He didn’t stop there, sliding under the covers and wrapping his arms around him. When he glanced down to look at Peter, he couldn’t help but think of how small he looked, snuggled in his arms. He reached out a calloused hand, stroking it through the soft but still slightly damp curls atop the kid’s head. “I love you Bambino.”

“Happy, where are we going?” Peter trailed after him in an unfamiliar side of a building.
“Well, since you have to wait an hour for Tony, I’m your babysitter,” Happy grumbled.
“I don’t need a babysitter!”
“Sure, you don’t.”
One month ago
“Kid? What the fuck?” Tony looked around the mess that half an hour ago was his living room. “Where are you?”
The room was a sight to behold. Someone completely covered the ceiling with white spider webs. And by completely, Tony meant that the webs created a thick second ceiling, making the original one invisible. Certain someone also was invisible.
“Peter? I’m counting to three,” Tony made the ultimate threat. “One… Two…”
“Hi, Mr. Stark!” The familiar head peaked out of the layer of white substance covering his ceiling.
“Peter, get down on the ground.” Tony kept his voice leveled. He breathed deeply, in and out, trying to keep himself from screaming.
The boy jumped down on the ground and smiled at him.
“Peter, what is THAT.” Tony waved his arm in the air.
“Oh, I tried to make a web hammock, but it kind of got out of hand.” Peter looked at the barely contained fury that was Tony now and added sheepishly, “But don’t worry, it will dissolve in an hour or two.”
“Yeah? It will dissolve? And what happens to your webs when they dissolve?”
“They turn to dust,” Peter answered confidently.
“So, you’re saying that all of this-” Tony waved his arm once again- “will turn into dust and fall on my furniture?”
“Yeah,” Peter nodded less confidently.
“Well, Pepper gets back here in three hours.” Tony looked at his watch. “If I were you, I would start cleaning that right away.”
“But what about the lab day?”
“Would you like me to send a photo of this to your Aunt?”
“Okay, okay, I’ll start cleaning now.”
Now
“Happy, what is this place?”
“It’s my office.”
“You have an office.”
“I’m a head of security, of course, I have an office.”
"What are you doing? I can help you!"
"Absolutely not. Sit there." Happy motioned towards the chair covered in miscellaneous items. "Do your homework."
Peter approached the piece of furniture.
"Ooh, you've read that book?" He lifted up 'Chemistry of Death', from its place on top of the pile. "It's really cool."
"Aren't you a bit too young for that kind of book?"
"I'm 15!"
"That's what I'm talking about!"
"But it's cool."
"Sure." Happy moved towards Peter and took the book from him. Then he grabbed a few other books from the pile, a few loose pieces of paper, and a jacket that laid underneath all of that. The bottom of the chair started being visible.
"Sit. Homework." Happy pointed at the chair with his index finger. Then he turned back to Peter, sat by his desk, and started doing paperwork.
Happy worked for a couple of minutes, enjoying the silence. However, suddenly the quiet in the room started feeling too suspicious. He rapidly turned back and felt the pain.
"Ow!"
"Fuck!" Happy's hand flew to the side of his head. He looked at Peter, who was squeezing his nose. There was blood on his fingers.
"Shit, you're bleeding." Happy got up and tugged at Peter's wrist. "Let me see."
"You broke my nose!"
"Yeah, yeah, and what were you doing standing behind me." He managed to pry Peter's hands from his nose. "It's definitely broken." He grabbed a tissue from the dispenser on the desk. "Hold this, we're going on a trip to the med bay."
At this exact moment, the doors to the office opened, and Pepper stepped in. Happy, distracted by the sound, looked at her. The moment he turned away from Peter, he heard the cracking noise from that direction.
"Ow!"
His head snapped towards the teenager.
"What did you do?!"
"I set my nose!"
Happy stared at him incredulously.
"I gather it's not the best time," Pepper joined the conversation.
"Do you need something specific?" Happy asked her.
"I wanted to borrow Peter, but…" she trailed off.
"I'm alright." Peter grinned, his face smeared with blood.
"Have you looked in the mirror?"
---
"What do you need me for Miss Potts?"
Peter entered Happy's office after getting cleaned up. He managed to convince both Pepper and Happy that his nose would be okay and it would quickly heal.
"I need an assistant for a short meeting. For taking notes and sorting documents."
"Oh, I want to go."
"Come on then."
Pepper walked fast, confidently navigating the maze that corridors created. She and Peter got to a small meeting room. There were a bunch of well-dressed men waiting.
Pepper opened the door and walked in, Peter following her closely.
"Good afternoon, everyone, sorry for the delay." She walked to the chair at the head of the table. Peter sat on her right. Pepper leaned to the side and whispered to his ear, "Don't worry, just take notes, you don't have to talk if you don't want to."
"Okay."
"So, let's get on with it," she started the meeting.
Peter took the notes, occasionally Pepper whispered to him some suggestions on what to note and how. Time flew pretty fast, and Peter didn't even notice that an hour had passed and they were nearing the end. As Pepper said the final goodbyes, he looked out of the office's glass windows and saw Tony, with his arms on his hips and a frown. Peter smiled and waved at him. That didn't help the frown.
Pepper and Peter exited the room the last. Tony immediately approached them and threw an arm around Peter's shoulder.
"Pepper, why did you kidnap my intern?"
"Well, I gave him a real intern work, honey." Pepper smiled at Tony.
"I went with Pepper willingly!"
"What did I say about strangers and candies?" Tony looked seriously at Peter.
"Nothing? And Pepper is not a stranger?"
"Don't talk back."
"Well, you can feed your intern now and then go play in a workshop."
"Okay." Tony finally smiled and kissed Pepper on her lips. "What do you say, kid? You need to be fed and watered?" He led Peter towards the elevator.
"I'm not a house plant."
"Trust me, I know, you move too much."
"You know, there are plants that move, mimosas are the most known, but for example the calathea and marantha species, popular house plants, close their leaves for the night, and they're called the prayer-plants because of that."
"How do you know that? Have you ever owned a house plant?"
"I killed them all."
---
The plan Peter made for the day was perfect. He had a free day at school on Friday. May was supposed to be at work the whole day. So Peter made a plan. It started with waking up as late as possible.
The plan failed as soon as he woke up because of two voices in his apartment. He grabbed his phone and looked groggily at the screen. It was 7AM. He put his phone back on the bedside table and buried himself under the comforter, and closed his eyes, trying to ignore the sounds. He was almost successful, but as he drifted back to sleep, the door to his room opened. He was pulled back into wakefulness. His body jerked unpleasantly, making him groan.
“Wake up, honey!” May called from the doorstep.
Peter pulled himself up while rubbing his eyes.
“Hi kiddo,” the other voice, male, carried. The owner of that voice appeared behind May’s shoulder.
“Mmmm… Wha' ‘s he doin’ ‘ere?” Peter’s mouth felt like Sahara. He grabbed the glass of water from his bedside table and took a sip, the cold water waking him.
“Nice to see you too,” Tony snarked.
“Get up, Peter, and come for breakfast," May called, turned around, and went to the kitchen.
---
"So. You hadn't answered my question," Peter prompted, sitting at the kitchen table with a bowl of cereal in front of him. Tony sat next to him, scrolling on his phone, while May cleaned the stove from the latest cooking failure.
"What question?"
"What are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to spend some time with my favorite intern."
Peter looked doubtful at Tony.
"None of this was a lie," the man defended himself. "We just thought that it would be beneficial for you to spend some time doing ordinary intern things."
"Lab?"
"More like I have a meeting, some errands to run, and you are going to accompany me."
"Oh. Like with Pepper?"
"Yeah, more or less."
"So, it was Pepper's idea."
"It was not her idea," Tony said pointedly.
Peter opened his mouth to say something mean about the older man's creativity, but May interrupted him.
"Don't tease Tony, Peter, he's just jealous that Pepper was first to take you to the meeting."
"I'm not jealous!"
"Sure." Peter smirked. Then he got up, picked up his bowl, and put it into the dishwasher.
"I'm not, and before you get dressed, take this." Tony handed him a suit bag.
Peter looked at the clothes inside.
"Oh, you didn't have to, I…"
"Don't finish that sentence. You have to dress accordingly to the occasion."
"Pepper didn't care that I wore a t-shirt and jeans."
"I'm not Pepper. Why are you still standing here? Go get dressed."
---
"Peter, you look so handsome!" May exclaimed, seeing him emerging from his room, dressed in a suit brought by Tony. "C'mon, let's take a photo."
"Wait!" Tony approached Peter and fixed his tie. "Now, we can." He threw an arm around Peter's shoulder and smiled at May.
"It looks exactly the same," Peter said, looking at his tie.
"It's better. Now, smile."
"You're embarrassing."
"I'm embarrassing? I'm cool. Where's your hero worship?"
"After spending some time with you, I realized there's nothing to worship."
Before Tony could mock hurt and confusion, May snapped a picture. The sound of a shutter made them both look at her.
"Aww, you two look so cute."
"Show it!"
They crowded around May, squinting at the camera's screen.
"Aww, you look cute." Tony ruffled Peter's hair.
"You're still embarrassing."
The photo on the screen showed Peter and Tony looking at each other and smiling.
"May, send me that photo, please," Tony asked.
"Well, since you asked nicely."
"C'mon kid, let's not keep Happy waiting."
"I'm leaving now as well," May said. She grabbed her purse, and the three of them shuffled out of the apartment and went down the stairs, talking and laughing.

Summary:
Finally, the moment of truth had arrived. The fate of Peter’s dreams resting in this one letter.
“Have… have you opened it yet?” May asked.
Hesitantly, Peter shook his head. “I’m too nervous.”
“That’s okay,” May assured, finally lowering herself into the seat beside him and adding with a smile “We can open it together if you’d like?”
Glancing away from the letter with a clench of his jaw, Peter asked “What if I don’t get in? W-What if I wasn’t good enough?”
Taking the boy’s hands into her own and fixing him with a strong, unwavering stare, May said firmly, “You are always enough Peter. No matter what happens, no matter what that letter says, you will always be more than enough…“

~~~~~
“May?”
Straightening in alarm at the waver of her nephew’s voice, May quickly shut the apartment door behind her and moved across the hall. Her mind raced while trying to guess what could possibly be wrong, and much like a mother would, she prepared herself for the worst as she stepped into the kitchen.
“Honey?” she called, breathing a small sigh of relief when she saw Peter sitting alive and well at the table- if not a little pale. “Is everything alright?” she asked swiftly. “Did something happen at school today?”
Drawing in a deep breath, Peter glanced up nervously through the lenses of his wide, circular glasses and presented the letter clutched tightly in his hands. “I-It’s here,” he said with a mixture of awe and terror in his voice.
Confused, May moved to stand beside the boy and rest her hand on his shoulder reassuringly. It was only when she glanced down at the envelope and the familiar, bold insignia printed over it though that she truly understood her nephew’s anxiety.
Stark Industries.
The company that had sparked Peter’s love for innovation ever since they had shifted gears into green tech, and the billionaire who owned it that had just as quickly captured the attention of the young genius. Tony Stark. Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist- and more importantly, Peter’s hero. Even before Stark had been revealed as the fearsome, invincible Iron Man, Peter had always looked up to him. Admired his intelligence, his creativity, his boldness. And while May wasn’t particularly fond of Stark’s history, she knew how much the hero meant to Peter, and how much Peter dreamed of working for him someday.
That’s why the letter was so important. That’s why Peter’s hands were shaking as he held it. It was his chance. His chance to get into the company of his dreams, if only for a little while.
i’ll be home for christmas (if only in my dreams)
Summary: Christmas is a hard holiday when you’ve lost as many people as Peter Parker has.
Prompt: Peter Parker has anxiety
Peter closes his laptop with a tired sigh. For the first time since he was ten he finished his winter break homework before Christmas. Not by his own choice, he and May are spending a whole week with Tony and his family upstate for Christmas so he’ll have almost no time to finish the work before school resumes. He pushes back his chair, intending to go reward himself with a snack, when something catches his eye outside the window.
It’s snowing.
Despite himself, Peter grins and rushes back over to the window. Not only is it snowing, but it’s sticking!
“May!” He shouts into the living room. “It’s snowing!”
“Really?” His aunt calls back to him. He hears her feet on the floor as she runs to the window and she whoops in delight.
“Can I go swinging?” Peter asks excitedly, already tugging on his spidersuit.
“As long as you wear a sweater over your suit,” May tells him, appearing in his bedroom doorway.
Peter groans, “But Mr. Stark put a heater in my suit, I’ll be fine.”
May rolls her eyes and walks over to Peter’s closet. “Last time, I had to thaw a spider-sicle.” She looks back at him, “Not that I don’t love you, but I really don’t want to do that again.” He watches as she plucks a deep blue sweater off the hanger. “If technology fails you won’t freeze to death, plus,” she hurls it at Peter’s chest, “it matches your suit.”
Peter grumbles under his breath, but accepts the sweater. May kisses his cheek. “Be back before dinner.”
Peter tosses his aunt and thumbs up before begrudgingly tugging on the sweater and jumping out the window. With a hollar, he swings through the streets and the snow. The feeling of snow against his mask is kind of annoying, but Peter doesn’t care in the slightest. Down below him, even the most grumpy of New Yorkers smile at the superhero and his cheerful laughter.
