Sans was curious as to what the young girl was writing,
his eyes wandering to her hand movements to see if he
could possibly make out what they were spelling. He saw
a few of the words, but he couldn’t exactly make out the
sentence properly. Best not be nosy, though. So with that
thought in mind he looked away from the notebook, waiting
for her to finish.
After she finished she handed the notebook for him to read,
and he quickly glanced over it – but before he could finish she
pulled the notebook away, and wrote something else. After a
moment or so she handed the notebook back and he read it.
“i mean.. if you need some schooling or whatever, i’m good
at sciency stuff. but we’ll talk about it while we’re eating i guess.
probably a family discussion thing, yeah?” And with that, the small
skeleton gave a light smile and wandered into the kitchen where
Papyrus was.

The fact that Pap told him that he should rest made the skeleton
laugh. It wasn’t every day that he heard his brother tell him to do
something like that -- usually he’d tell him to get off his lazy butt
and do some stuff, so this seemed different. His grin stayed in
place and he was going to make a remark on it, but for once he
decided that it wasn’t the time to do so. Sans had a bad habit of
saying things he shouldn’t at the wrong time, but he was able to
hold it back just this one time. He should work on that skill a bit
more.
And at the mention of eating leftovers from Grillby’s, his smile
only got bigger. It wasn’t like Papyrus to do things like this, but
he figured that he would make an exception when something like
what just happened would occur. He wasn’t complaining, resting
and Grillby’s were some of his favorite things.
“sounds pretty good to me, skelebro.” He said, his voice glazed
over with a bit of excitement.

Frisk had many talents, but to him the biggest one that she
had would be to make puns on top of his own. That made him
laugh ----- and he liked to think that he was the one that got her
so good at that. However she was probably good at doing that
before, but he wanted some of the credit for her ‘gift,’ as Sans
would call it.
He laughed for a minute at each of the things she said, but
became a bit more serious when she asked him to walk her
back. Of course he would --- he didn’t want anyone harming
her.. Which was unlikely, but you still had some monsters
who would do such things.
“of course kid, not a problem.” He held out his hand for
her to grasp so she could get down from the swing easier.

Sans loved the idea of a celebration for Katie’s newly welcomed
presence, but he wasn’t to sure if he wanted to eat spaghetti again.
But, he would do anything to make his brother happy. The skeleton
glanced at Katie and wondered if she would at least pretend it was
fantastic, but hey -- maybe it’d be delicious this time. There were
times that his food was pretty good.. so he surely was improving
at least a bit!
“yeah, kid. don’t hesitate to ask questions n’ stuff.” He stated
as he put his hands in his pockets, leaning on a nearby wall.
Maybe he’d actually warm up to the feeling of having a family.
Sure, there would be times that he’d not like it too much, but isn’t
that what family is? Where sometimes you have your issues, but
you do your best as a family to work over them? At least, that’s
what he and Papyrus did. But he was sure that it was the same
for humans like Katie. She seemed lovable, so he figured he
could get along with her. He’s just gotta warm up.
He smiled at the thought of having a good family. Maybe it
won’t be so bad after all.

“do you think that after you finish your science
stuff or whatever, you’d wanna hang out with pap
and i? i mean.. if you got the time or..”
He kicked at the ground lightly, glancing down at
his feet. He didn’t want to bother his father, no, but
he genuinely wanted to hang out.

He could hardly contain himself from the laughter that wanted
to escape his mouth. He snickered a few times, and paused for
a moment as if he were stalling to give the child the punchline.
Of course the joke would be silly, but that’s what Sans’s humor
was. It’s something the two shared, and if it made them happy,
then it was all worth while.
“oh forget it, there’s no point.”
oh my god that was so dumb why

Support was the one thing that was needed most between the two
brothers. Self-loathing and despair was a normal feeling for the small
skeleton, but sometimes he needed to feel something else. Something
loving and kind, the feeling of warmth and happiness. Sure he felt that
at times, but he wanted it to be more involved in his life. You can’t feel
alone all the time, right? He was glad to have a brother to help him with
that.
He watched as he went away for a few moments to gather up some
tissues for the two to use. Again, it was nice having a brother who did
care about him ----- he was his rock. They were each other’s rocks,
in a metaphorical sense.
As he took a tissue and dried his tears, a feeling of warmth enveloped
over his body. Sure, the despair was still there, but there was less of it.
Is this what happiness felt like? He was sure that’s what it was. And he
would do his best to hold on to it. Maybe all he needed was to vent out
his emotions and cry.
He gave a smile and sniffled, for the grogginess of the previous crying
session the two shared was still having an effect over him.
“thanks bro. i’m glad we got this out.”

He knew Grillbz was serious if he spoke a few words,
and that alone was a bit comforting to the small skeleton.
However it was a difficult subject to talk about, and he wasn’t
entirely sure he would understand what he was going to
say.
But he decided the only time that it was best to tell him
was when the bar was closed and everyone had left for
home. It, again, was a difficult subject and he didn’t want
anyone else to hear.. plus Sans might get a bit heated.
The skeleton uttered a small ‘okay’ and lifted his head
a bit from the table. However when he noticed a few stray
glances from curious friends and customers, he put his
head back down. This was too stressful, and he frankly
couldn’t wait until everyone was gone so he could get
this heavy weight off his chest.

He was trying to keep cool as he wanted to laugh at the dumb funny
joke he was fixing to tell. At first it threw him off that she said for him
to ‘come in,’ but then saw she fixed herself and said the proper response.
However the previous reply was fairly funny though.
She had a good sense of humor, and he enjoyed that quite a lot.

He could tell that this would grow to be an issue if he didn’t at least
try to cooperate with Papyrus and Katie. He knew that she must be
scared, being in a world where monsters roam and in a house with
two of them herself. So, he had to give the kid some credit. She was
brave for accepting Papyrus’s offer, and it was wrong for Sans to be
acting so rudely towards her. It wasn’t intentional, but he realized that
the last thing he said was for sure a bit aggressive in tone.
He eyed her every few moments, and noticed that she scribbled
something down. Papyrus read it and consoled her, then without a
warning the notebook was shoved right in it’s place. Now that was
highly irritating, and his eye started to flash a blue aura, but he
immediately caught himself and read the paper.
After doing so, his eyes wandered back to Katie, then to Papyrus.
Alright, alright. He understood the circumstances and though it was
a bit hard for Sans to take in so quickly, he would do his best to meet
the needs of the two. But you can’t blame him, right? One second he
was alone in his room doing whatever he does, then the next there
was a girl he didn’t know who was supposed to be living with them.
It was a big change of events.
But if he were in her situation, wouldn’t he want to be helped too?
Wouldn’t he want someone to take care of them -- and have a family?
With a deep sigh, he handed the notebook back to Papyrus and looked
at Katie and spoke.
“sorry kid, this was just a big change of events. you’re not imposing,
and you can stay here. sorry for being an ass a second ago.” After
speaking those words, he extended his hand out to shake hers.

“yeah, sure, that’d be nice. but you really shouldn’t
tamper with that shit. could cause rips and tears in
some fabric of time or whatever. ‘dunno, don’t pay
much attention. but no thanks, sweetheart.”
Sans knew damn well that what she was asking,
though tempting, was a bad idea. It could mess up
quite a lot for him.
“guess it all just depends on what the deal
of a lifetime is. it’s pretty hard to break me with
basic little wishes. it’s gotta, well. wow me.”
