Where he had lost his heavenly home, he found shelter under an angel's wings.

Where he had lost the ability to see his stars, he saw them every time he gazed into an angel's eyes.

And where he had lost God's love, he received abundant flashes of it every time an angel smiled his way.

Because yes, Crowley had Fallen for asking questions.

But in the end, he did find his answer.

The only answer he would ever need, in fact.

He found Aziraphale.

So whenever Aziraphale and Crowley met over the years the chemistry was sizzling between them.

The moment they’re allowed to be together without fearing Heaven and Hell… Aziraphale is touching, flirting, looking at him in love, dancing, wanting to confess, Crowley is softer, protective, gentle, confesses…

All they needed was for Hell and Heaven to leave them alone.

And the second Heaven interrupted it was back to square one.

Aziraphale really needs to learn the truth about Heaven and choose Crowley over everything else finally. Crowley deserves it. They both deserve it.

Something I noticed in the confession is that they don't REALLY respond to what the other is saying

Crowley says "run away with me" and Aziraphale says "come with me to heaven"

Both are saying "be with me" but neither stops to figure out why the other wouldn't want to go

Crowley says "you can't leave this bookshop" and Aziraphale says "nothing lasts forever"

Crowley thinks he ended it.

Aziraphale says "we can make a difference" and Crowley says "good luck"

Both are leaving. Neither stayed until they could agree, or at least understand each other

Aziraphale says "I need you" and Crowley says "no nightingales"

Aziraphale thinks he ended it.

Aziraphale says "I forgive you" and Crowley says "don't bother"

That's the one that sticks.

This whole songs makes me think of them, even the title. It hurts, the whole songs feels like Crowley's pain and heartbreak.

The song ends with "We've traveled very far, I'll keep a leftover light burning, so you can keep looking up. Isn't that worth holding on?"

And I know I'm adapting Mitski's word to something else but I feel that it's a perfect way to say what Crowley feels.

For me those lyrics in Crowley words would be:

"For millenia we've been together just existing, it took us all that time to realize it's love, so even if you aren't with me, just look at the stars for they are yours and for you to look at. Angel, look at them and think of me, aren't we both together enough?"
