Hello everyone! We know this blog isn't that big yet, but we do have an overarching story that will be taking place on the blog. We also have a Discord for just general pokemon talk, and just added the Geona's story category, so if you want quicker responses or get a sneak peek of what we have coming up, my main blog @inkswirl has the link to join in my bio!
We're all going to take a break from posting on this blog until maybe middle of January so we can get some information piled up for everyone! But of course you can still send in asks!
With that said, hope you all have/had a great holiday season, and a great new year waiting for you all! Best wishes, from all of us! -Prof Pyrus

Ooh, he's perfect! Thank you so much, I'll be sure to take care of him and get him what he needs!
I actually do have an evolution variant of Smeargle that loves to work with basically calligraphy and paints, but since he is an evolved form, he's much higher energy. I'm sure they'll work something out together though! If not, we've all had enough training to help pokemon get along in the past. We'll help him feel right at home.
Thanks again, and great to hear you had a great time! Take care, and hope we can talk again soon, I'm loving the work so far that I've seen! -Prof Pyrus
Hello Professor, first of all hope you're having a great season, whether you celebrate holidays or not. Could I get a match up? I'm Prof Pyrus from the Geona region. I like to go out into the fields to study, so my own pokemon help with that. But I was wondering if you had a pokemon that was fine with staying inside and just relaxing with, whether it's by sitting on the couch together or small calm activities to help get my mind off work, I tend to forget to take breaks.
I have had a great season, thank you! And I actually celebrate several holidays at this time of year! I hope you’ve also had a great season!
And I think I have the perfect Pokemon for you!
Tumblr media
So far, I’ve been calling this a ‘charcoal’ Smeargle! They seem to want to work almost exclusively with charcoal, though I’ve managed to convince this one that black pastel is also a decent choice.
They’re quite fun to be around, and generally want to spend their time creating art, rather than running around and battling! This particular one likes drawing still-lifes; I figured that might be preferable, compared to how most of the others want to draw something new and exciting every day.
They’re fine sitting on the couch and hanging out, but you will probably have to purchase a lot of artists’ charcoal for them… Or even just wood and a metal container you don’t mind giving up; these Smeargle’s are Fire-types, and can make their own material for drawing! Of course, if you get lost, I’m sure yours will happily show you what it needs to continue.
It can be a bit of a messy Pokemon to hang around, so I do recommend setting up a tarp on the floor wherever their easel gets set up; They’ll clean up after themselves, but charcoal can stain!
Hopefully you like art, and find them to be a good companion!

Hey everyone, happy holidays from all of us! And if you don't celebrate anything/celebrate something else, hope you have a great time regardless! -Prof Pyrus
We hope you all have a wonderful time, whether it be with friends, family, or whoever you spend it with. -Prof Chestnut
Heck yeah, happy holidays, and hope you all have a great new year too! Do what you want, whatever makes ya happy! But also remember to not harm others. Hoping all your wishes come true! -Prof Hemlocke

So, first of all, love the idea even if it just started, second what regions are you three from, if not from Geona, ad why did you take up your positions here? And happy holidays!
Hey, sorry this was so late, but apparently Hemlocke tried to answer earlier but for some reason it didn't post? So we got together and answered it. Thank you and happy holidays to you too! -Prof. Pyrus
Hey there Anon, thanks for the well wishes, same to you! I'm actually from Johto, but my family moved to Hoenn when I was really young. I always loved watching the contests, they just caught my eye with their beauty and grace. But my family put a bit of pressure to become a pokemon trainer, so I did join the Hoenn league but without our heart in it we didn't get too far. But Prof. Birch took me under his wing until I got into the Academy for new professors, and that's where I met Pyrus and Chestnut. They encouraged me to pick up contests again, and I loved it. I also learned I loved the idea of being a professor too, so I worked hard in both.
Then when we graduated, we all got an invitation to come to Geona, but now that I think on it more, it didn't have a return address, and the professors here before us were confused, but they took us in anyway. Going to have to find that letter later. -Hemlocke
Thanks for the question and holiday greetings. We hope you're having a good time too. I'm from the Unova region. Since I was young, I wanted to train and become the champion, but due to some issues I had no choice but to forfeit the challenge. Both professors were kind enough to help me into the Academy, where I met Pyrus and Hemlocke. Even though this was to study to be professors, they helped me get past the hurdle that was keeping me back before, and I've been training to become a challenger again. But of course my work as a professor helps too.
We all got invitations to a not well known region, Geona, and set off on a ship filled with other people. It was strange though, we were the only three getting off, and no one was there to greet us. We basically had to hitch a ride to the nearest lab and the Professors had no idea we were coming. Hmm... -Prof. Chestnut
Hey, thanks for the ask! Sorry it took so long to respond, but we all had business to do today. Anyway, I'm from Kanto. I actually did go through the League Challenge, but lost in the premilinaries of the last battles. But I always admired Prof. Oak and took extensive notes on all the pokemon I saw and found, having captured all 147 pokemon I could. I know, there's 151 technically, but I wasn't about to capture any of the legendaries, or risk my pokemon from trying. I do still have notes on them though. Anyway, Professor Oak helped me into the Academy and that's where I met Hemlocke and Chestnut. I saw they both wanted to be different things though, so I helped push them to see that they could still follow their dreams! We all graduated from the Academy together though.
Then, we got some invitations to come here, and we decided Why not? Another adventure for us! But it was strange. No one else got off even though the ship was full of people, and no one greeted us. We even had to ask for a ride to the nearest lab. Even though it was practically midnight when we arrived, the professors let us crash on the couches and they took us in as apprentices. -Pyrus

Tonight the three of us have decided to get a more closer look at the pokemon unique to the Geona region. We already had some sightings, such as a multi-headed snake, what seems to be a training group of cats, and a few more. It's just that up till now we were getting settled seriously as we aren't apprentices anymore. -Prof Pyrus
Yeah, we're going out together, but we'll still have our porytranscivers on us, so have any questions, we'll get to them as we can! But first, birthday cake! -Prof Hemlocke
This will be quite the experience for us. But we'll be safe with our pokemon. But now, c'mon you two, time to go relax.

Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard the Lizard pokemon line.
This line of pokemon are very famous in every region because most of them are very outgoing. They are also very adaptable to most places, in the big plains to forests and valleys, to the tops of mountains whether they have snow or not. This is a very hardy pokemon line and very strong workers if trained right.
The most common are the flying fire types, but there has been talk about hidden types. One unique type is the flying ghost type found in the Geona region's place of resting. Another is near Lumiose City in Kalos, a flying electric variation. In Alola, they had mutated to becoming flying dragon pokemon due to the large mountain area where mostly dragon pokemon reside. Another sighting was at Mount Silver of what looked to be an ice type family, though investigation is still underway.
All variations are strong pokemon, and love to show off their strength and power by helping humans in their work. Charmanders use their scorching breath to help cooks or even heat up spas. Charmeleon works well with Machops and other fighting types in doing heavy lifting while also retaining their usefulness of their fire and claws to cut fruit and vegetables. Charizards are much too bulky for most inside jobs, so they enjoy helping lift and carry things and people through the sky, especially seen in Alola.
Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard are all mostly meat eaters. Though they do enjoy the occasional berry platter, they like to torch their food to their own liking, and it is of course different for each individual and may even change upon evolution.
These pokemon are not exactly recommended for young children, with the flames at their tails, sharp claws and fangs also poise a threat to those not able to handle them well. But they make excellent guard pokemon and can be very gentle when taught right once they hatch.
The myth of the flame at their tails going out meaning that they'll die is mostly untrue. The flame is a very good indicator of their health, but it is not their life source and it can be reignited if it does go out. That being said, if the flame starts to go out and the pokemon is feeling rather cold, you should immediately take them to a pokemon center. If it starts popping and crackling like an out of control campfire, they have been working too hard and need a rest, and also a trip to Nurse Joy wouldn't be too bad either.
Because they could easily get sick from their tail going out, and that the tail can catch things on fire if not watched out for, these pokemon are not recommended for places such as Seafolk Village in Alola or Pacifidlog Town in Hoenn.
In battle, this line of pokemon are actually very fast. So the need for moves that go first shouldn't be a priority. And, most people tend to go one way or the other when it comes to physical or special attacks, though the higher stat is commonly special attack. They also learn a variety of moves from Thunder punch, Earthquake, Dragon Claw, Iron tail and more. So, when putting together a team, you should know first what other teammates you are going to have as well as what you want to focus on.
Another thing people seem to forget when they are Charizards, they gain flying type, so they must watch out for electricity and ice moves.
Either way, these pokemon love to work and train. You must always see which you are most compatible with, because if they don't see you as an equal and a leader, they may end up not listening to you.

There are rumors that a small but powerful pokemon guards the castle that's in ruins by the entrance of the Legendary's temple. Man or pokemon, this poor abandoned pokemon doesn't care who it attacks. There are stories of the castle and this pokemon being a beloved partner to the King and Queen. No one knows what happened, but some say this pokemon was the one to cause this destruction and had gone mad.
This is a rendition of the pokemon from an artist who managed to escape the castle.

Yo! It's Hemlock time! Nice to meet you all, my name's Cliff Hemlock or Professor Hemlock. Whatever you want to call me, I don't mind. My lab is in the Reverb Mountains, and I teach and document what pokemon can learn what moves, through level up, TMs, or any other way. I'm usually on the move throughout the region because of it, but the best moves I teach can only be taught when I'm there.
I also compete in the Beauty Contests from time to time. So if you want to see the beauty of pokemon and moves, be sure to keep an eye out! And remember, be the very best you can be!

(Wrong blog, augh!)
Hello, my name is Harold Chestnut, or Professor Chestnut. I have my lab set in the Beacon Forest. There, I study the different types of variations of pokemon. From their types to their moves.
If you have questions of a certain variation of pokemon, I can tell you the description and types.

Professor Pyrus
Walking through a field you see a large observatory like base, that has several pokemon around outside. Getting closer, you see a young woman tending to a hurt Eevee with black and grey fur. She looks up, "Oh, hello, you must be a new to the region. My name is Swirl Ink Pyrus, or Professor Pyrus for short," she smiled, setting the little pokemon into a bed, standing up and dusting off her pants.
She smiled as she got up, offering you her hand to shake, "I assume you seen the special on the Bulbasaur family? If you have, good, because that's what sets our region apart. It encompasses many different terrains and territories so saying they were "regional variations" wouldn't do the pokemon here justice," she explained.
She led you inside the lab where different pokemon relaxed in. Most were the common forms, but there were a few that looked different.
"This is my lab, well my main lab. Truth is I have several sister locations and work with two other professors to deal in exploring and documenting pokemon." She said as she brought up a computer screen showing another lab in a forest and another set in the mountains.
"But those two are so farther into the wilderness, I am appointed to help newcomers learn. Whether it's to become a trainer or whatever else you want to be, or even if you want help choosing a companion pokemon. I have several here that are quite friendly,"
An Aipom jumped onto her shoulder, chattering and waving to you, "I will be releasing documentaries on every pokemon family that can be found here, which is every pokemon found up to the Galar region, and some new ones of our own," she continued as she pet Aipom's head, "But if you want a special lesson, don't be afraid to send an ask to my inbox, and I'll get it out as soon as possible,"
"In short, my lab is for trainers and non trainers alike, and I can get pokemon adopted to you as well if you would like. Just be sure to explain what you can of your situation. What kind of temperament you're looking for, what type of pokemon, whether or not you're living alone, that sort of thing," she explained.
"Anyway, I better start on my rounds of field work. Remember, you can ask me questions when I am available, or you can meet the other two professors, if you're strong enough that is," she smiled, packing a backpack and leading you out, bringing out Swampert that has a more greenish coloration and going with him into the field.

Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur, the Bulb Plant Pokemon family
These pokemon are usually found in lush forests and valleys, surrounded by healthy plants and flowers and clean fresh water. Their most commonly known forms are sea green bodies with darker spots and bulbs on their backs that slowly bloom into a beautiful pink to red flower.
But there are some that have adapted to others as well. From having succulent like plants and becoming part ground instead of the normal grass/poison. To becoming a water/grass pokemon with lotus flowers near wide open lakes.
Through all the variations that can be, their basic instincts include helping the flora flourish. From helping the roots take hold to luring bug pokemon to pollinate them. They work in tandem with other pokemon around them and are mainly herbivores. Most of the energy they get comes from the sun and water.
They are great pokemon companions for gardening and general plant care, whether it's for consumption or not. But due to how fragile their own bulbs can become, the common variant of this family are not recommended for places near volcanoes or in snowy regions, and their cousins are rare to find so other pokemon are suggested for those areas.
They do not do well as companions for younger or destructive children either, as they are protective of their bulbs and may use their vines to restrain the children harshly, or even resort to using spores to put them to sleep. Even a scared Bulbasaur may accidentally use poisonous spores if they are suddenly startled.
If by chance their bulbs are torn or broken, get them to either a pokemon center or a plant care specialist. Thankfully, the grass gym leader has seen many injuries to the bulb and goes around the region, helping in cases such as these. If gone untreated, it could make the pokemon sick or worse it could kill the pokemon. So you must calmly and swiftly take action.
Training them as battlers means learning to avoid many combinations of moves. With being Grass/poison, the moves range from flying, psychic, fire, and ice. And you also must consider that most of their stats end up with Special Attack being the highest. With the ability Overgrow, it would be best to have at least one or two grass type moves. One I suggest would be Giga Drain as it both deals damage and heals your pokemon, but it is rather hard to obtain. If you have no way of doing so, a TM with Energy Ball will work as well. If you're looking for one it learns naturally, there are options of Solar Beam or Petal Blizzard. You may also want to consider Sludge Bomb.
And most of all, whether you want to have a companion in the garden or a powerhouse battler, that you two understand each other and are compatible.
