ok bc @shannarc and @kopynin asked i decided to write what i see of kakaita cos it’s my otp for the life I’m sorry, it’s gonna be simple tbh and i’ll be mentioning @ichaichatactics cos he’s in this hell w me and i can’t leave him out of this post,, by e

ok first, itachi and kakashi will easily (i don’t remember if it was canon or not so?) get along if given opportunity. both have this quiet and easy-going nature, they’re mostly rational creatures and have a lot of interests in common. books, cooking, love for animals, hobbies in general, etc.

insert small headcanon in here: itachi and kakashi actually interacted OUTSIDE their job during their ANBU days, when kakashi was itachi’s captain. there’s this scene in kakashi gaiden where kakashi told tenzo that, after the news of the massacre spread, he felt like in the end he didn’t know anything about itachi. so- can we assume they hung out and interacted and all this stuff? yes :)

insert another headcanon where itachi kinda has a crush on kakashi but not cos he’s wow so mysterious and shit. but bc he’s so strong and disciplined ( anbu days cof ) and that’s!!!!! so cool!!! he wants to surpass kakashi to make him a proud senpai.

bOTH are geniuses and so goddamn good at- everything? that at a v young age both have ALREADY expectations they need to attend to, and none of their fellow shinobis can relate w that. also, both are somehow bitter over konoha, the politics. “wow u ship them cos they’re closeted rebels??” no (no?? adljkslka jk), but again: they can easily understand each other, which means that they wouldn’t judge their actions, the bad they’ve made. they wouldn’t expect anything from each other. they’d accept one another, their FLAWS and everything that comes along with it. (lemme remind u guys that i’m talking abt a non-mass au ok, so when i said they wouldn’t judge their actions doesn’t mean that i’d have kakashi to condone the massacre.)

still on that matter: u remember when itachi casually asked kakashi how HE FELT W THE SHARINGAN? rather than just- crucify kakashi he was simply curious and wanted to understand his senpai, and on the top of that: kakashi answered?? yeah, both are v private and if that doesn’t mean they somehow- bonded, then idk what this is.  i’ll paste here a print w a piece (regarding a specific scene in ita’s book) of @ichaichatactics ‘s response to a similar question:

itachi and kakashi respects each other. ^_^ yes, it’s real. they acknowledge each other’s powers and they respect it, but also- their privacy, their /alone times/ when they need it. and this is just so essential in one’s life, so important. really i don’t believe they’d fall in love at first sight, tbh that’d be boring it they did. because what they need when they first met is not- romance. they need a friend, someone to relate to, someone that can understand them where THEY REALLY NEED THIS UNDERSTANDING. and no one can tell me that with time, after so many years of being there for each other, they couldn’t find love too. okay (’= i’m done

kakaita cooking. together. kakashi preparing the disgusting fish he loves and itachi, after seeing him eating only fish after so many time, decides to take over and prepare something different. they’d have dinner together and itachi would try v hard to not stare kakashi to try and see his face cos that’s unpolite. kakashi knows, and it’s utterly funny to see itachi struggling w it.

itachi likes sweets, but knows kakashi is not very fond of them, so he tries to learn some recipes to please kaka’s taste. (also discussed it w lucas >< we’re weak don’t @ us)

they’d spend hours reading in silence all over each other on the couch, and talk about their books and share thoughts and recommendations. itachi would ask to read kaka’s porn books and he’d struggle so hard not to blush and kakashi would be amazed and hold back his laughter cos, again, itachi:?? pink cheeks??? wow wOW SO F FUNNY.
