I love the idea of Spock being super queer, highly expressive and very emotional from a Vulcan view point. Like...

I like to think that at least once, the Avatar cycle seemed to skip the Water Tribe—like people knew it was the water tribe’s turn, everyone was looking for them, the tests are done on all the kids, but like 60-80 years go by and no avatar until some Earth Kingdom kid shows up. People wonder if the cycle skipped a generation or what, but nothing serious was going on at that time so they shrug and move on.
It’s only many many years later that someone is researching Swampbender oral history and someone tells the story of “Ol Stinky Jess, she was a funny one, could light the swamp on fire an’ all sorts o’ shenanigans! Best catfishgator catcher in the tribe, she was” and thats literally it, she just lived a totally chill life in the swamp and nobody knew what an avatar was at the time so they just rolled with that funny gal’s odd bending ways.

Fun facts of the day
You don’t need to use “delusional” as an insult. You can just say “ignorant” or “willfully ignorant” instead of dragging down people who experience delusions
A difference in opinion is not a delusion. Just because you think something is true but another person disagrees does not automatically make that person delusional

A few of my favourite non-explicit fics, for @hmasfatty (or anyone else who is interested).
These all deserve better descriptions and much more praise than I have brainpower to give them at the moment. My breif window of words being easy seems to be over, and it's headache time instead.
This is the fic that clinched the deal when @mississpithy decided to infect me with her Jason Todd obsession. Consider this also a rec for everything @thepartyresponsible has ever written. It's the banter for me, although there are many more elements to love here. Some sexual content but not explicit. Kidfic.
A short, sweet but not overly saccharin Steve Rogers/Tony Stark huddling for warmth/getting together fic that does not get steamy. Realistic misunderstandings based on character's insecurities and a happy ending - what more can you ask for (aside from smut, but we're not doing that today).
Steve Rogers giving an interview setting the record straight (so to speak) about a lot of things in his past, including the nature of his relationship with Bucky Barnes and a lot of queer history (includes homophobia and slurs).
I love all @gogglor's MCU stuff, but this one is especially creative. The first chapter alone does not give you an accurate idea of what you are in for, so if the pulp-y, noir vibe isn't what you're in the mood for, well...I don't want to spoil anything, so I'm just going to leave it at keep reading.
Probably my favourite @copperbadge fic. Stony.
The first @thepartyresponsible fic I read.
No Sleep Till Brooklyn, by TheCarrot (@waywaychuck )
All the smut in the tags is in the second chapter. On its own the first chapter is a sfw, soft getting-together fic with Rey and Finn taking care of a sleepy Poe. Rey/Finn/Poe

Super weird to me that ‘love languages’ are treated like hogwarts houses and not like, like, different facets that appear in varying degrees of everybody

just remembered a fic on AO3 (or more likely LJ because it had that distinct 00's experimental vibe) that appeared double-spaced oddly, in that some paragraphs would be spaced normally and others would have double or even triple spaces in between. it was about one half of the otp getting over the other's death (or coma, can't remember which), so all the comments were about how poignant the use of visual spacing was as a means to convey all the emotional holes in the character's life.
and then the author replied like... *giggle* guys it's NOT double spaced. try selecting the whole text
and we were all like "no WAY"
but we selected the text, and yes!!!
the "holes" in the story? they were actually lines and actions from the dead/coma character's ghost, rendered invisible to the eye by the simple trick of coloring the text the exact same as the background, revealed by nothing more than a click and a drag of the mouse
a story about the profound loneliness of losing your the partner of your life and having to make do without them, without anything to fill the holes they'd left behind, suddenly became a story about the profound helplessness of seeing someone you love suffer from your absence while you are right there, unable to do anything about it, unable to communicate that you love them enough to suffer unseen and unheard with them, just to keep them company they'll never know about
it was then that I truly realized how *superior* the digital medium is to plain printed paper, how the medium and the format can add to a story.
I think about that fic about once a year. I wish I could find it again

I worked in an anti-censorship nonprofit. You want some real humdingers for book banning reasons? Hold my beer.
BOOK: Lord of the Rings
REASON FOR BAN: Contained magic and was therefore Satanic
CONTEXT: Tolkien was a devout Catholic who explicitly wrote LOTR to be a metaphorical exploration of his faith. He said it was the reason why no one in the books worships anyone; they themselves are meant to be the religious text. Did that stop a mob of evangelicals from burning a pile of LOTR books in the 70’s? Lol of course not.
BOOK: The Lorax
REASON FOR BAN: Contained a biased condemnation of the logging industry.
CONTEXT: This one happened in a Pacific Northwest town with a big population of lumber industry professionals. Which is exactly the place where a book like this SHOULD be, but HEAVEN FORBID we let children THINK.
BOOK: Webster’s Dictionary
REASON FOR BAN: Someone was concerned a hypothetical child could look up the word “sex” in it.
CONTEXT: This was in 2007 (!!??!!)
BOOK: Goosbumps’s The Barking Dog
REASON FOR BAN: Contained a scary depiction of a dog.
CONTEXT: Do I really need to give more context on this one?
One of these days I’ll get into the art bans we dealt with, and the spectacularly terrible interpretations of the first amendment that people used to justify censorship, but for now I’ll just add that these examples didn’t all happen in the American South. Censorship happens everywhere, just with different justifications. Keep a sharp eye, an open mind, and an examined set of principles.
book banning is unequivocally bad and worth being concerned about, but it's funny how this practice has survived into the internet age, where information is more readily available than it's ever been in human history.

I interned with an anti-censorship nonprofit for a summer and had to organize their past cases.
Once they had a case where somebody tried to get Webster’a dictionary banned from the library because a hypothetical child could use it to look up the word “sex.”
In 2007.

*hitting you with a stick* no benoit blanc movies should not interact. they should not lead up to something. you need to detox from the marvel/sherlock bbc poisoning. they should be completely independent movies (maybe w some cameos/little references for fun) and go on for as long as there are stories rian johnson wants to tell in this universe. i do not want an overarching plot i do not want a team up i dont want a benoit-focused prequel i want some good old fashioned episodic murder mysteries that have nothing to do with each other!!!!!!!!!!! also rian johnson has literally said he's not gonna do a prequel and he wants the movies to all stand on their own
