Just a friendly reminder that Lucien has, and always be the moment. I mean, our boy was initially meant to be with Nesta, but now he's mated with Elain. No one does it like him.
Chefs kiss.

Crackpot theory time
Lucien is going to become High King.
We have seen it discussed in SF and Cassian was pushing Rhys to become High King, though Rhys had no interest in it whatsoever.
However, wouldn’t Lucien be perfect for such a position?
He has no declared court and has friends in the Human lands. He has friends and contacts in all the courts. We know Spring, Night, Winter, Day, Autumn, and Dawn have all been mentioned as places he travels or has friends. Helion, if he ever finds out, is his father and as far as we know, he’s the only heir of Day.
Rhys claims to be the most powerful HL ever. Cool. Then why is everyone so threatened by Lucien? Tamlin. Beron and his sons. Amarantha. Cassian, even. All of these powerful characters have either shown some sort of fear/jealousy over Lucien. Tamlin was incredibly jealous of him to a point he was afraid of Feyre falling for Lucien instead of him. Also, Tamlin talked about how his brothers hated him because they saw the power in him and that being the eldest doesn’t mean you’re HL heir. It’s the most powerful.
We know from Lucien’s story that he was very involved with the common people of Autumn and his “father” and brothers saw that as a threat and broke him. Why would his brothers be so threatened by the 7th son doing something as silly as making friends in other courts and with common folk if there wasn’t actually power to back that up.
Amarantha made it a point to torture him and break him any chance she had over something snarky he said? No, I don’t think so but I’ll make that a point later. She was afraid of him and his lack of fear and respect for her. No one else challenged her (besides Jurian) and that shook her so she punished Lucien. More on this later.
And Cassian—egotistical, cocky Cassian was surprised by Lucien’s dominant behavior. Lord Cassian, Illyrian General was caught off guard when Lucien basically told him to stop acting a fool in his house with a look, y’all.
He has more power than he lets on. During Amarantha’s reign, Tamlin is a prime example of how her magic took away power from the HL. He said his power was a fragment of what it used to be. Yet we see Lucien, who isn’t a HL able to winnow and glamour on multiple occasions before going UTM. Now, when he gets UTM he is able to heal Feyre and winnow in and she asks him how he still has magic. His response is basically “oh, Amarantha let me have some power back because we came here.” Typical bullshit Lucien answer. She hates Lucien. Truly, do you think she would ever do him a favor? Even with Amarantha’s spell, he holds on to some of his magic because he is that strong.
Then we see him in Hybern. He breaks the King of Hybern’s spell to get to Elain—Mr, Cauldron Weilding, Magical Spell Book having King of Hybern. That speaks enough. I don’t feel like that was written to be like “oh, mate in danger.” No—that was written to show that Lucien was more powerful than the King of Hybern at least in terms of spell cleaving—which he has been noted of doing before. Spells and fire are Lucien’s specialty though we’ve only ever heard it mentioned and not really seen it much in practice.
He has Day powers and doesn’t realize it. The spell cleaving being obvious, but how about during the Summer Solstice with Ianthe. Feyre was glowing and in one short, blink and you miss it moment, Feyre said that the glow had extended to Lucien. Again, we don’t know he’s Helion’s son yet. I don’t think that this was Feyre saying “yeah, I made him glow to piss off Ianthe.” Rhys isn’t mentioned as glowing when they have sex and she glows. He’s glowing from his own day powers whether he did it on purpose or accidentally in response to Feyre’s power activating it.
There has to be more to Lucien’s story and I swear that it’s not me just wanting it for him. He has many major plot points that haven’t been resolved and the mate thing, to me, isn’t the most pressing. I’m writing this on the fly so it’s not as composed as it should be but perhaps I will go back and include snippets from the books, so I apologize for that.
Lucien will have love and respect and it will be the whole kingdom of Prythian.

lucien shouting at elain about being her mate when the bond snapped in place is one of the most embarrassing misinformations, and I can’t believe it’s still spread around like it’s a fact. I would understand if it was a simple misinterpretation, but how do you get it wrong when the sentence literally goes “his voice broke as he whispered to elain, «you’re my mate»”? do people read with their eyes closed or something?

If Rhys stayed 5 seconds more when the mating bond snapped for him, he would've blurted it out in Feyre's face that she is his mate. He literally winnowed right at that moment to Velaris and the first thing he said to Mor after 50 years was "she's my mate".
He even explains to Feyre that if he stayed one moment longer he would've took her with him. That's how hard the bond hits the male. It's very unsettling for them.
Lucien whispering it in front of Elain in that moment is not him declaring her as his, it was simply a SHOCK. It was a life-altering moment on a biological level. It unsettled his instincts and it clashes with the grief and the pain he lived with for centuries—thinking Jesminda was his mate, only for a stranger to turn out to be his at the worst moment imaginable.
They're Fae people.

@ahrene just made a post regarding Lucien not causing Elain more stress by harming Graysen made me think of this:
Too much. Azriel only said coldly, “If Lucien kills Graysen, then good riddance.”
The battle to the death was so brutal that it was only enacted in rare cases.
“I’ll defeat him with little effort.” Pure arrogance laced every word, but it was true.
Lucien had encountered him, I realized. Somehow, in living with Jurian and Vassa at that manor, he’d run into Elain’s former betrothed. And managed to leave the human lord breathing.
But Elain lifted her chin. “No matter what, don’t kill him. Please.” “We’ll try—” “Swear it.” I’d never heard that tone from her. Ever.
Elain cut in sharply, “I am not a child to be fought over.”
Really, if Elain was privy to the way Az would handle situations versus the way Lucien does handle situations, which do you think would be her true choice?

What's up with this all anti elucien bull shit in their tag. I'm fucking tired, and no point in telling them to tag correctly because they got a bucket load of excuses. How pathetic they are.

When Lucien does not actively run away with Feyre in acomaf, even thought he has tried speaking to Tamlin about correcting his behavior, because Tamlin would have hunt them down and caught them, he's an "abuser" but when the entire IC hide the secret about Feyre's pregnancy from her because they would all rather obediently follow Rhysand's orders over Feyre's right to know about her own body and pregnancy, it's crickets.
