claude is not a huge fan of cats. he doesn't hate them, mind, but an experience in his childhood involving a cousin not wanting him near their cat made him incredibly wary in case they try and scratch. he doesn't mind them being in a room with him, but doesn't like them jumping on him or anything like that.

so naturally, amelia has a riegan tabby in the riegan estate that absolutely adores him and he Suffers.

he LOVES dogs though. absolutely ADORES them. in verses where it doesnt make sense for lear to be a wyvern, he's a burnese mountain dog.

How well do we know each other?: The fact that I’ve fallen asleep in your office on multiple occasions should answer that question.

Do you have a pet name for me?: There’s really not much to work with when one has a single syllable name. I believe I called you a nuisance once back in our academy days though?

Do I have a pet name for you?: Did you steal Dorothea’s nickname for me, or did I imagine that?

Are you attracted to me?: I’ve never been one to be swayed over by crushes or flights of fancy but…. I will admit you’re rather attractive.

Why do you want to marry me?: I don’t like talking about feelings much. Not that there aren’t exceptions of course. Claude, had I been in your position when you found me… I probably wouldn’t have acted the way you did. In all honesty. I suppose that makes you the better man. Of course, I would give you my life now. My point is, you’ve seen me at my lowest point. You had every opportunity to take advantage of that - I was your enemy, for goddess’ sake. Instead you gave me shelter, you protected those dearest to me and the one that couldn’t be saved immediately? You worked with me until we could rescue her… And had the choice to betray my trust at the end, and guarantee she wouldn’t turn our armies on you. You didn’t. I owe you not just my life, but my family’s and my liege’s. Whilst there was a limit to how much I couldn’t potentially act behind your back whilst clearly being watched, you still had to display some trust in me… Claude, how could you not touch my heart in all that time? After everything?

Big wedding or Small wedding?: The moment Iva and Melly hear of this, what we want won’t matter.

Do you see children in our future?: …Perhaps. It depends what your feelings are on the matter. I lean towards yes, but as I’m hardly one for tradition, I won’t be heartbroken if it’s a no.

Are you attracted to me?: I suppose you can surmise as much as I am taking the time to fill this out.

Why do you want to marry me?: Your devotion to your cause is something quite extraordinary, as is your devotion to those who might help you achieve it. I could never consider marriage to someone I did not respect as I respect you.

… it still seems a little unbelievable. somewhere in the corner of your mind you wonder what his angle must be– what could lorenz possibly gain from marrying you, except the eternal scorn of his father?
