“I love you” has meaning, yes. But I feel as if I can say it so casually. Like I told a friend I don’t really like that I love them. I feel like telling someone I love you can be a cheap way out at times. Cheaters tell their lovers that to make them happy. Children tell abusive parents that to make them have a sense of control. Manipulators tell their victims that to make that person think they’re important.

I just feel like there’s so much more weight behind words such as, “I enjoy talking to you” or “we can talk about anything, I just wanna talk with you” or “I enjoy being around you”. They feel like they have so much more weight to them, feel like more than just a cheap compliment. Don’t get me wrong I love to say and hear I love you to my friends and family. I just feel like there’s a extra layer to “I just wanna talk to you” then “i love you”
