Alhaitham
Alhaitham is the type to think his s/o is overreacting while arguing with them. He's convinced that he's right and would just be humouring you by wasting his precious time on this useless banter.
He had already won before you could lay your case, so why do you keep insisting that he's wrong? Like, why are you overreacting by fussing over a small matter when Alhaitham had already voiced out his reasons? There's no way you're even slightly right.
Alhaitham already connected the points and drew them solved right to the finest detail. He'd just rest his back leaning on the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. Stupid turquoise eyes staring directly at you, watching you as you lose your shit in front of him
One crucial point that Alhaitham always forget is, people, grow frustrated when having to explain their point repeatedly to a person who's often said; not up for a debate because they're right. Alhaitham is exactly that kind of person.
So you can only imagine the slight shift of surprise in his expression when he hear your voice crack. Although it was brief because you stopped talking as soon as it happened, it didn't go amiss with Alhaitham. He only began to feel something tug his heart when you looked away from his direction with your head tilted downward, and your fingers lightly touching your eyes.
For once, Alhaitham is taken aback, and his stance begins to waver. Tossing his pride aside, he fast-paced to where you are standing. Although not panic strikened, he dislike being the cause of your tears.
Diluc Ragnvindr
As for Diluc, he'd listen to what you have to say until it involves things he disagrees with such as mending with Kaeya, taking a week off from doing his darknight hero gigs and also letting you help him.
Don’t get him wrong, you are important to him. But some things that you want to happen just does not align or sit well with him, he just genuinely will never be able to find himself compromising for it, so he would rather be straight with you.
"I don't think that's for you to decide." He would start being sharp tongued when you keep pressing on matters he dislikes speaking of. A bad habit of his but he'll never admit it. He would try his best not to dismiss you completely and wants to ensure you, what you are feeling is important to him.
Tragically for Diluc, his main problem is the fact that he forgets he has to be vocal about it. And not just stood there while staring into your soul with his eyebrows furrowed, the idea of you not understanding his thoughts completely leaving his mind.
So, when your voice starts wavering from confident to doubtful, Diluc realised something was wrong. His body would automatically release all the tension he was holding in, his expression softened slightly as he discards his own ego and reaches out for your wrist. His warm hand fills you with comfort almost immediately as he gently pulls you closer to him.
He does not want to see you upset nor does he wants to lie to you, so he chooses to put this argument to rest because it will just disturb you further if you keep trying to change things that his mind is set on. We all know how stubborn Diluc can be once his goal is set. Fortunately, even fire can’t stay bright and roaring forever if you keep trying to extinguish it.

It has been hard for me to talk about how what is going on with Israel and Palestine is affecting me personally, but I grew up in Gaza and most of my family still lives there. My father did not survive the bombings last week and I have not been able to contact my younger sister in days. I am try to being understanding that most people do not have personal connections to what is happening and therefore are justifying their silence, but is heartbreaking to see this misinformation being spread. What’s happening there is a genocide, not a war. It is not antisemitic to support Palestine, it’s not even antiemetic to criticise Israel. There is no grey area or neutrality regarding this, and it is so easy to find resources that will educate you on the subject. It is my people and my home being destroyed so I will never be silent about this, but I please urge everyone to get informed and start speaking up and finding ways they can help.
decolonizepalestine has tons of information on Palestine’s history/propaganda that has been spread throughout the years
UK citizens can email their MP asking for a ceasefire
US citizens can call/email their local government officials asking for a ceasefire
Jewish Voice for Peace also has many resources for ways for US citizens to get involved, including protests
Donate to Palestine Children’s Relief Fund
Donate to Medical Aid for Palestine
Donate to help get food and hygiene kits to Gaza

Alhaitham x reader. Read to find out
I'm not sure where this whole story was going but I tried my best to wrap things up nicely. I do apologise for any grammatical error or bad narration that makes anyone experience displeasure with my writing.
Writing has never been my area of expertise but I am trying my best with everything I have tried to write.
in the middle of the night and you are trying to convince Alhaitham to let you join a dangerous mission newer scholars has to participate in order to gain experience.
"As I've said before, no." Alhaitham stood firm in front of you, Arm crossed across his chest. His unwavering confidence nips at your patience the longer you spend trying to force your reasoning into his thick head as to why you must personally attend to the commission the Akademiya had tasked to the newer scholar in your team.
"Alhaitham, listen. I know that other senior scholars have way too much free time on their hands and that they should be the ones to watch over newer ones but I am also capable-" He sighs, eyes closing. Alhaitham begins to walk away from you, tinkering with books and the historic decor he has. With the sudden movement he made, you find yourself pacing after him like a child.
Or to be more accurate, like a young scholar chasing after her mentor, listening to his speeches while he stacks book after book onto her. God, what a nightmare. A sense of Deja Vu that makes the hair on your skin crawls. And it did.
"Why can't you just listen? It'd make a good opportunity for me too. I get to practice my knowledge in the real world instead of in some old boring office." Frustration grew inside of you. You already knew Alhaitham wouldn't willingly agree to something that could potentially risk your life but the fact that he flatly refuse your idea as if it doesn't worth being pondered over? unbelievable.
"I am listening. Although applying your knowledge in the outside world is far more preferred for many scholars as it does help with developing your skills faster,"
"Then I can go?!" You beamed. Accidentally cutting him off. You truly believe you had finally succeeded in convincing him.
"... I'm not finished. It doesn't mean you have to put yourself on the bridge between life and death. So my answer's still the same." He continued. As soon as he finished your expression slowly turn glum.
Just before you could feel the rejection setting in for the second time, a bright idea popped into your head. ".. why don't you follow me then?"
"I told you, I can't. As the acting grand sage I have multiples matters to attend to at the Akademiya. If I had known you'd insist as volunteering for the mission, I wouldn't have granted it approval in the first place." Alhaitham raises his hand.
Doing his usual gesture where he's staring right into your eyes and swing one hand out while the other stay crossed across his chest. It took every ounce of willpower in you to not roll your eyes over how annoying he looks with his as-matter-of-factly expression.
"If the mission is so dangerous why are you leaving it in the hands of the newer schoolars.." You mumbled your words but it proves that nothing goes unnoticed to Alhaitham especially when it's you he's facing.
"Because I like to see the world burn." his nonchalant-ness had you worried. You slowly backs away from him, opting to drop the topic. Maybe you had been too pushy with him earlier. ".. don't..?" until now you've never understood why people always complains over how hard it is to tell whether Alhaitham is being serious or not.
Over the time you've spent with him, he had always been somewhat of an easy-to-read man. Straightforward and honest to you. Oh but now? now you're sweating because his comment relating to arsonist paired with his serious expression makes you wonder if you should prepare for the day when an unknown fire broke out somewhere in the Akademiya thus burning the entirety of Sumeru city down.
Maybe you'd find your boyfriend standing on top of it all with an unhinged smile and maniac laughter coming from him screaming burn burn burn!
But ofcourse, all your fantasies were interrupted by the very same man. "I'm joking, Y/n." your expression must've told him everything you were thinking about seeing how he's quick to admit he wasn't serious.
"so then.. can I go?" you repeat your question. Continuously asking him until you finally get him to say yes. Alhaitham sighs in pure defeat. It's starting to look like you are not the only frustrated one here.
"Y/n.. Let's just sleep for now." he grabs your forearm gently, pulling you to your shared bedroom after having had enough of your persistent attempt on changing his mind regarding the matter that was so important to you. He still doesn't see the importance of you joining them if you can just stay at the Akademiya and learn with him instead.
But eventually, he'll give it some thought and try to view things from the eyes of a scholar and not the eyes of an overprotective lover. Just keep pestering him so he won't think you've given up the idea of going.

Inspired by the podcast "Dangerously yours". This doesn't have a specific character name, but I did write it with Alhaitham in mind.
Mentions of su!cide and gűns so if you're sensitive to these topics, do step away.
I imagined that Y/n had somehow tackled Alhaitham into the ground and had one of her hand wrapped around his neck. While the other hold a loaded gůn.
Again, although I wrote it with Alhaitham in mind, I didn't use any character's name, so feel free to do whatever.
Usage of she/her pronouns.
"You mean you're actually going to kill me?"
"I mean just that." Her jaw clenched, gripping the gun that's held closely to the side of his head.
"Well, go ahead." His eyes bore into hers. Amused. Almost as if he's sure she won't kill him. What makes him so certain? Thousands of questions ran through her head and each of them tugs at her heart. With every question and doubt that comes to mind, the tighter her grip on the gun becomes.
"Pull the trigger." He spoke. Noticing how she is growing more hesitant as time passes by.
"I'll do this my own way." She replied, pushing the gun into him in retaliation. She chokes on her emotions as her hand quivered. This was hard on her. She didn't ask for this. Who knew the guy she had fallen in love with would be someone wanted by her agency?
"You won't do it."
"You can't pull the trigger." His hand reaches for her cheek, caressing her face gently. His lips curl upwards when he notices her eyes start watering. If she hadn't learned anything from the past few days, his smile would've been a pleasant sight.
One that'd make her giddy and wonder how she could be so lucky to be on the receiving end of that smile. That damn smile. It's a sad feeling when something that used to make you feel full changed into a gutting one.
"You can't pull it because you love me." You're right. She thought. She nod as she pulled the gun away from his head, moving away in shame. He sighs, disappointment evident in the way he rolls his eyes.
"That was pathetic, Y/n. I reckoned you were a person who had higher pride." He rubs his face, looking away from her. "I must say, if you had kept the strong front from earlier, I would've considered this a worthwhile experience."
He heard the gun clicks, he glances over to her, half expecting it to be aimed at him and a tear-stricken Y/n, driven by fury. What he faces instead is Y/n with a gun to her head.
"But I can kill me." As soon as she finishes her words, she shot herself. It was too quick of death, she fell instantly as the bullet killed her.
All lovers have their dispute over major events. Could be one where they forgot to do the dishes or the laundry. You name it. There is nothing such as perfect love in this world.
Unfortunately for her, though. It seems like her version of a lover quarrel involves heavy gunpowder bullshit.

Alhaitham.. fell in love?
The scribe sees you as a nuisance. It's like a story that started well but ended badly due to the poor writing of the author. It irks a certain part of his brain that he can't. Help. But. Be. Bothered. Every logical and rational part of him frowns upon seeing that grin on your feature, which has the capability to make the scribe's gut clench uncomfortably. Wait, him? Alhaitham's stomach.. is turning? Upside down? Surely, Alhaitham is no idiot. He's fully aware of the symptom that he's 'crushing'. But it's just.. unbelievable. Even Kaveh would think he's being ridiculous. And he's never the ridiculous one, Kaveh is.
Alhaitham had always viewed the library of Akademiya as his place to escape when the number of people who don’t know how to do their job properly comes nagging at him, mainly for being the scribe. Seriously, is he working with a kindergarten scholars, who are still in the making?
Nevertheless, both of you are often left alone in the library. Him being the scribe and you, the librarian. Ever the so helpful unofficial assistant of his. Somehow it became a habit of yours to hand him a few sweets you had brought with the intent to snack on them yourself. The first time he received them, he glared at you as if you had just insulted him. Did he look like a stressed 11-year-old? Are you trying to comfort him or were you handing a candy you thought was nasty and he conveniently happen to be there looking like he could eat a few?
Regardless. He was about to open his mouth and goes on a rant until you simply walk away after putting the sweets in front of him. The audacity? He still took them home to feed them to Kaveh though. Who knows if you were a spy and wanted him dead. This could save him from both the trouble of taking Kaveh out and getting food poisoning. A win will still be a win, yes?
As time goes by, it becomes an expected routine for him to receive sweets whenever he spends a few hours in the library. When he's not too engrossed in his work and manage to catch you in the act, you'd always give him a gleeful smile and deliver a small wave. He hadn't realised how much hold that interaction has on him until he catches himself trying not to be too focused on his work around the time you'd make your daily rounds.
Checking and arranging books while Alhaitham ‘busy’ himself in his work-pile. It was during that time he started hating whatever you were doing to him. He's getting no work done when he's in the library, the opposite of why his original intention and he hates it.
He would try to distant himself ofcourse. But after realising that the library is your own separate world, and that his position in the akademiya makes intercepting with you almost impossible, he might just go back to making a work-pile mess in the library to catch more glimpses of you.

Diluc Ragnvindr. Full rides fluff. Mere speculations of his personality. Headcanon
Diluc probably knows how to make small, joyful meals exclusively for his lover. If he can make drinks, he can make dishes.
Maybe when it's dead in the night and all the maids, including the butler, had gone home and you find yourself awake in the dead of the night. You moved even an inch, which Diluc's conscious detect as too much. Resulting in him stirring awake with his arms wrapped loosely around your waist.
His eyelids open slowly, revealing a pair of vermilion eyes that shone brighter dead in the night, staring at you. Frowning once, he realised you were wide awake and sheepishly grinned at him for waking him from his slumber. He stayed quiet for what felt like a whole minute and made inquiries as to why you were awake at this ungodly hour. He's worried, okay?
Once he is sure nothing serious is going on with you and you simply find yourself struggling to sleep this one time, he whispered, offering to whip something up for you because he knows everyone gets sleepy after a good meal in a warm house.
Diluc, who seems effortlessly attractive with his back facing you, broad shoulder moving in motion with his busy hand, chopping and stirring his love meal. Diluc decided to make garlic toast and mushroom soup, as the ingredients required are only a few and he happen to find lots of them in his fridge.
Serving the bowl of thick and hot soup alongside freshly baked garlic toast on the table where you sit, telling you, "Careful, it's hot." As if the hot steam said otherwise. He sat next to you, watching attentively as you eat. Contentment washes over him when you seem to be enjoying it.
"Do sleep well after this. If I may find you awake at this hour once again, I shall feed you with scoldings instead."

Diluc Ragnvindr x fem reader. Usage of she/her pronouns. Angst with no comfort nor happy ending. Death. Fixed
Disclaimer: I am not a writer. this is just something I wrote out of boredom because my finals are almost done. Also, English is not my first language, I hope everyone who reads this will enjoy it without any horrible judgement. Critique is fine. Warning for angst without comfort, tho! I can't bring myself to let anyone have a happy ending in an angsty scenario. Someone has to die HAHA.
"Gah..!" Y/n screamed out as a blade perched through her abdomen in attempting to protect Diluc. Blood gushes from the newly made hole in her stomach. The feeling was excruciating and painful and god.. so, gutting. "Di-" she chokes on her blood. The pain multiplied when she tries to speak. She fell to her knees, shaky hands near the tip of the blade that is poking out of her.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, god.. please." Diluc was never a man of god nor has he ever prayed. But in this dire moment, he finds himself begging, asking, pleading for heavenly help. It didn't matter to him whose help he shall receive, he is not in a place to choose at the moment. as the always famous saying goes, beggars can't be choosers.
His lover, with whom he swore to go through hardships together, is bleeding out in front of him. Life is cruel to Diluc. It seems to always bear its fangs at him no matter where he looks, and this moment is convincing him further that he was correct. Diluc's reserved self was long thrown away as he fell to his knees in front of her gory self. He's holding onto her shoulder, supporting her from falling forward and moving even an inch of the blade. He's teary, no, sobbing. Sobbing and scared. His hand quivers vibrate her body slightly. She's not dead at this moment yet. But surviving the fatality of the wound would be unsensible.
"You- You shouldn't have done that, please." he chokes out. Tears spilling everywhere the reality of you dying because of him, repeat in the back of his mind like curses. He should've died, he thought. It would have been honourable for him to die for her. And yet, why is he the one to watch as the light in her eyes disappears? Why does he have to witness the death of the people he loves, over and over again? "Please, Y/n I can't- I can't live without you." he cups her face with one hand, wiping the blood on her features, staring into her eyes although it's a blurry sight for him.
Diluc picks her up, skillfully picking up the pace while being mindful of the blade in her torso. His steps were fast but tactical, a given for a man who often would come home past midnight from his Darknight hero antics. He rushed to a nearby hospital both of them passed by earlier, heaven wonders how he's not noticing the already dead body hhe wass carrying but it makes sense knowing her were already limp when he picked her up. He ran, frantic search for a sign of the building he'd seen earlier that could 'potentially' save her.
The reaction of the staff will be up to your imagination, fellow readers.

Alhaitham with clingy lover whom he always finds clinging onto him like he's a teddy bear. Alhaitham who often find himself sighing when their embrace just tightens more with each passing time. but does nothing to chase them away.
"You're clingy. You know that, right?" he spat as she tightens her arm around his neck, burying her face deeper into his neck. He swears he accidentally accepted a pervert into his life with how she's sniffing his cologne, pressing the tip of her nose into him, basking in the closeness.
A few moments prior, Alhaitham had a few documents to confirm from the Akademiya as their scribe. Being the diligent worker he is, he kept working on them even after coming home. Alhaitham who only ever focuses on finishing his tasks went straight into his library. Ignorant towards the callings and greetings from his roommate and lover.
Not even an hour passed by after Alhaitham had shut himself away in his library, and the door creaked open revealing his lover who approached him with open arms. Almost like a habit, He picked her up and place her on his lap the moment her arms came into contact with his skin.
As soon as she settled herself Alhaitham wasted no time in continuing his work, his concentration proved to be more resilient than the current grand sage mind towards greed for power. That claim seemed to be true up until she planted a kiss on his right cheek and his rapid typing came to a halt.
"..what was that." His question seemed to have been nothing but mere amusement for his lover, judging from the light chuckle he earned. Alhaitham decides to brush off the affection he received and continued his work, his judgement that his work is far more important, betrays him when her arms tighten around his neck, the warmth of her face is getting mixed up with his own body heat.
"You're clingy, you know that, right?" he sighs, leaning back in his chair. Despite his words, he rests his hands on her lower back. She propped her head onto his broad shoulder, asking him if he'd like her to leave. "No need. Just stay like this for a bit."

Imagine Diluc being pressured into drinking wine by Kaeya who excite the ENTIRE crowd into chanting 'chug it up' and Diluc absolutely detesting his customers for playing along with Kaeya's antic and drinks the entirety of the glass.
''Knights of favonious..always so enthusiastic for the wrong thing.'' Said Diluc before slamming the glass down on the bar with enough force as to not break it but leaves an impact nonetheless. ''It'd be more worthwhile...'' Inaudible Hiccup ''...to invest that energy...into protecting monstadt.''
Even the people who hardly drink (seriously who in monstadt doesn't drink?) Know that the most famous bachelor of monstadt can't hold his liquor. Unfortunately for Diluc, the fact that Kaeya had ordered the strongest alcohol a man could make, fully slipped his mind. Thus, the only proof of that drink ever been requested is the now staggering and unfocused Diluc.
