As a french person, it's kinda funny to me when fanfic writers make Alastor speak french, and it's always things like "Bonjour mon cher, je t'aime" you know, typical french words from the main France french most people learn here and there.

The thing is, Alastor knows french creole from Louisiana, which isn't the usual France french most people know. Alastor would speak like "Bonjou konmen to yê?" Or "Mo laimm twa" instead ahah.

Also, there's different versions of french creole, the one from Louisiana is not exactly the same from Antillean Creole or French Guianese Creole. If you want here's an example to what Louisiana Creole sounds like!

So yeah if you want to spice up your fics and be more accurate with your Alastor speaking french creole, dont be afraid to look out for Louisiana Creole expressions instead of the typical french you'd normally use! Makes it more fun and more accurate 💃

“alastor is touch-repulsed“ what is all this then lads

short meta analysis under the cut:

Here’s some of my theories:

1. Alastor is okay with initiating touch, it’s about control. He is not touch repulsed, he is selective about touch.

2. Alastor allows a handful of people to touch him without him initiating. As of now, these people are all women. Maybe he doesn’t feel threatened by them, maybe he’s a gentleman. But his hug with Mimzy felt so genuine that I’m starting to think he LIKES touch sometimes.

3. the scene where he shakes Lucifer’s hand may be a good indicator of him being touch-repulsed, but it’s also obviously power play (not the kinky type) to not shake Lucifer’s hand, grabbing his staff instead, shaking it with such force it rattles the literal king of hell and then wiping his hand on his coat like he’s disgusted. He seems to do it more to assert dominance, which makes a lot of sense in the context of this episode.

4. I still think it’s canon that he doesn’t like to be touched. It isn’t per se the same as being touch repulsed, it’s just him being selective about touch. And it has a lot to do with him wanting to stay in control at all times. I just think he makes exceptions and those are some of the few people he cares for to some unknown extent.

I like to imagine men have to earn his trust to be able to be so casual with him.
