Well, no tickets today. By the time I found my code this morning (which ended up in my junk folder somehow), they sold out. Hopefully they're staggering tickets and I'll be able to snag some tomorrow, but I'll be in an appointment when they release so I'm guessing not. Sadge.

How are people buying tickets already?? I was checking out Ticketmaster to see if prices were listed for the Des Moines show and there were like three options for 2 seats left, each being at least $250/ea. I thought the pre-sale wasn't supposed to start until tomorrow morning? I'm so disappointed, I can't afford to go if they're really gonna be this expensive.

very happy to hear there's a des moines date! It's only 5 hours away and wouldn't interfere with my normal work week. i signed up for the pre-sale, so hopefully i'm able to get tickets for my sister and i!

I'm currently at work and don't have time for much, but I just wanted to say a few things regarding the obsession some people have over the band's identities.

I have heard that someone gained access to their birth certificates, as well as photos of the boys, their families, and their partners. I've heard conflicting reports of there being intimate photos as well, and that they were trying to hire a stalker. I don't know how accurate this is, but due to recent events (iii's ig), I wouldn't be surprised if there was some level of truth to it.

I don't want to add more gas to the fire, but I was pissed when I read about this and felt like I needed to say something.

They don't owe us a damn thing. Grow the fuck up.

They've only ever asked of us one thing, and that was to focus on the music. Their identities were never important, and they do not want to be unmasked. It's a violation of their privacy to do so without their consent, and I'm sick of people thinking they have that right. I love the ST Tumblr community--it's without a doubt one of the most positive communities I've been in--but this just breaks my heart.

i will say i LOVE that sleep token is a drum centric band

i’ve always enjoyed drums, ever since i was a kid. so hearing sleep token and the gut wrenching, absolutely nasty(in a good way), drums makes my heart incredibly happy. i also really like that II is focused mainly of cymbals then the actual drums themselves, creating this amazing sound while being SO FUCKING LAID BACK!!!

Ok I had a thought during my drive in to work that I wanted to share... I might write down a deeper dive into this, idk, but here ya go.

"Crumble like a temple built from future daughters."

It's a line that I've always found interesting but could never quite identify what Vessel was trying to say. It's been on my mind for a while, but I just... couldn't think of what it could possibly be referencing. At first I was thinking it was some obscure history reference (which would explain why I didn't get it because I'm more of a science nerd), but I couldn't think of what. That's until I was driving in to work and, while listening to Telomeres (which I also have some thoughts about), I started thinking about DNA replication, which got my brain onto the cell cycle. The cell cycle is essentially a process in which one cell duplicates itself to create two identical cells.

What are those two identical cells called? Daughter cells. What do we often refer to our bodies as? Temples.

Let's go back to that line: "crumble like a temple built from future daughters."

We already know that the common interpretation of Atlantic is that it's about waking up in the hospital after an unsuccessful suicide attempt. An attempt to destroy the body, which is composed of trillions of cells that would, in the future, become daughter cells.

I dunno, just a thought.

There's a few that speak to me, but lately, I think DYWTYLM has been resonating with me a lot. The idea of looking into yourself and realizing you don't like what you see. Wishing that you could love yourself and fighting desperately for it but just... falling short every time. Masking whenever you're around other people ("I would turn into a stranger in an instant if I could," "do you ever believe / that we can turn into different people") because if you don't like your true self, then who would? More in the tags 🩶

Eep Token friends, I'm super curious about something. What is that one Sleep Token song that you have an inexplicable connection to? I don't necessarily mean your absolute favourite, or the one you think it's their best.

I mean that one song that feels like yours. That one that moves you in ways you can't really comprehend. The one that feels like it was made for you specifically.

For me it's Drag Me Under. It's not my actual favourite, but it's the one I feel like it's mine. Can't exactly put my finger why, but yeah.
