@totally-excited , it was the same exact thing for me! So very, very, very glad I found "When did Oliver..." That one post led to being a part of this awesome fandom and making some incredible friendships.
Tumblr media
So this is not a question but a thank you. I wanted O+F together pretty much from the start so I took to the internet just to check if I was crazy. Which brings me to you. Your meta „when did O fall in love with F“ was what made me stick with it and I never regretted that decision (though the writers like to test me every now and then) so what I‘m trying to say is thank you. This Blog is a lot of work which you do just because of your love for this show and its characters and I appreciate that.
Wow!!!! What an amazing message to receive. Thank you so much!!! And I am always thrilled whenever I hear this blog helped with the enjoyment of Arrow. And “When Did Oliver Fall in Love with Felicity” is near and dear to my heart. Thank you for taking the time to read what I write. I appreciate it so much.

So excited and pleased how well this project turned out. I'm thrilled Stephen & Emily loved it. Well done, Christy!!
I especially love the letter in the beginning. How very touching!
If anyone is wanting to fix delicious sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving, you can't go wrong with the Sweet Potato Casserole recipe in this cookbook. 😉
Thank you Christy, and everyone who worked on this project, for all your hard work! Well done!
Tumblr media
Mission Accomplished!
Our cookbook has been completed, printed, and delivered! It turned out really well, and I’m proud of the work we did.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I gave the cookbook to Stephen on Saturday. He flipped through it and said it was really cool. He was thankful for everyone who contributed. The volunteer helping run his line also said she loved the name (Olicity ❤️) and that she wanted a copy. Haha.
I gave a copy to Emily on Sunday. Her line was really long on this day, so she wasn’t allowed to have long conversations with fans like she had been having the day before. When I gave it to her, she really liked it and started flipping through it. She said it was so cool and that it would be a hit among her friends (who were sitting at the end of the table keeping track of her gifts for her). She thanked us for it. ❤️
While I waited for my friend to have her photo signed, I talked with Carina and another of Emily’s friends for a minute. They both were looking through the cookbook, and Carina said it was one of the sweetest ideas she’d seen. I told her that even if Emily doesn’t use it, it’s still a cool representation of the people and cultures that are included within the fandom. She said, “Oh, she loves to cook. She’ll definitely use it."  ❤️  Carina even tweeted about it later that day:
Tumblr media
To sum up, thank you all for participating. We made a lovely product, and our effort was appreciated. If you would like to download a copy for yourself, please go here. I have made a page on the blog specifically for downloading a PDF version. Cook/bake away!  ❤️❤️❤️

So happy he answered my question that I asked on behalf of @scu11y22
Glad to hear something is coming very soon on his cancer campaign!
David Ramsey FB Live Recap
I wasn’t able to be there as he recorded live because I was prepping dinner, but I just watched the video.
For 610, Dig has a bandage on his hand with the tremors.
Good Delicity scenes that he literally just filmed before FB live in 610.
Again, he’s not heavily in the crossover but Stephen and Melissa’s scenes made him go “What? Woah” in 608 of Arrow specifically. Also he hints at Tommy’s return in that episode. Cc: @queensoverwatch
Interesting scenes with Dig and Agent Watson in the coming episodes. Lyla will also return in 606. Also, fans don’t fret, Dig is still a married man cc: @almondblossomme @yet-i-remain-quiet
Working with Stephen and Emily is fantastic. Their chemistry is like lightning in a bottle in regards to OTA and Olicity.
Will Felicity fix Dig’s tremors? “If anyone can do it, she and Curtis can.”
His favorite character in the entire Arowverse (all four shows) Martian Manhunter
Lastly, @scu11y22, @hotcookinmama or another fan asked his cancer charity campaign. Charity announcement to come in the following week.

So sorry @emmilynestill I’m just now seeing this. Your post makes 100% sense!  I guess I missed that Sara was back in Star City for her time in retail hell. Of course, she would re-join Team Arrow. Maybe she might take a retail job on the side, purely for cash and insurance... like Felicity’s “soul-crushing exercise in misery that offers health and dental”... but her nights with Team Arrow would help with the boredom. And she CERTAINLY would have let her dad know she was back in town. (sigh)
All very good points, emmilynestill.
All too often I turn my brain off when watching Legends because logic doesn’t work with that show. Most of the time, it’s a more pleasurable experience if I don’t think too hard. Kinda of like the old MST3k saying “It’s just a show. I should really just relax.” These horrible Arrowverse errors, however, are worse than their usual time-travel nonsense. It does make you wonder if the writers even watched the other shows. They obviously forgot about them.
Why Legends of Tomorrows 3x01 Arrowverse Easter Eggs were incredibly misguided
First let me say I enjoy LOT, I love the characters, but I had a hard time enjoying the first episode (which would have otherwise been a fun episode) because the “cute little” Easter Eggs, that they presumably put in there for hardcore fans of the Arrow verse (like me), frankly pissed me off.
And I’m not just talking about the Felicity shade, but the fact that they actually caused HUGE continuity errors.
Here are my issues:
1.       Sara
For those who didn’t watch LOT on Tuesday, the Legends were fired and spent 6 months elsewhere, Sara went back to Star City (logical) and…worked at a Supermart?  Bored and dreaming of being a hero again.
Why this is stupid:
a.       Her father is Deputy Major and her good friends, Oliver Queen, mayor of Star City, they couldn’t get her a better job as say…a body guard?  Maybe to Oliver’s brand new and very vulnerable son?
b.       Even if she wasn’t a body guard (which was most logical) why couldn’t she go back to being a bartender since she was one at Verdant (everyone else in the Arrowverse is a bartender when they’re down on  their luck).
c.       Sara in Star City would have immediately rejoined team Arrow.  Immediately.  She has close friends there who respect her and Oliver needs back-up because of said new son.  So…probably wouldn’t be that bored.
d.       None of this is even taking into account I’m pretty damn sure tonight’s episode isn’t going to mention Sara being in Star City for 6 months.  And if Lance doesn’t do that HUGE continuity error.
2.       Ray
After the firing, Ray goes to silicon valley where he tries to sell his nanotech to the social media company he is working for.  His snarky gives-millenials-a-bad-name boss throws shade on Felicity by saying, “if you hadn’t given your company to a woman who ran it into the ground…”
So…if you aren’t a fan of Arrow you wouldn’t even catch that reference, but if you are a fan, the majority of us are pissed because if you love Felicity (and most fans do…sorry reddit) you know that is untrue and rude. (Though, I’m sure that small group of fanboys who hate Felicity due to her being bad for their fragile egos enjoyed it).
I could write an essay on how Felicity did NOT run Palmer Tech into the ground.  She and Curtis were saving it with their tech, but she was fired because she wanted to make the tech available to everyone (and because she was too busy saving the world to make board meetings).
Also, this would be the first time Ray officially came back from the dead. For this?  Makes no sense.
3.       Nate
They were kinder to The Flash, as they usually are, but this still made no sense.
Nate was in Central City working with Kid Flash…only wally didn’t really need him. Except we had just watched an entire episode about hoe team Flash was struggling without Barry and could really have used an indestructible Superhero those last 6 months.  But, nope, Nate wasn’t mentioned once!
(Cisco DID mention Felicity and Curtis in a very appropriate if spoilery Easter Egg where he was mentioning all the geniuses he had consulted to get Barry back, so kudos Flash writers).
So, LOT writers, please don’t try to please Arrowverse fans if you don’t know as much as Arrowverse fans!!!!
Tagging the ladies who had me ranting about this in my head on the way to work today: @dmichellewrites @scu11y22 @hotcookinmama @ireland1733

Janis is an amazing writer. I'm not doing NaNoWriMo this year, but I might someday, and I sure want Janis's tips nearby when I do!
Don’t Panic - (Sometimes Hypocritical) Tips For NaNoWriMo Participants
So, sometime in recent memory, perhaps egged on by friends or in a fit of madness that seemed reasonable at 2 a.m., you signed up to write 50,000 words of fiction in the month of November. Right about now, with the calendar moving way too fast and pumpkins on all your neighbors’ doorsteps, you might be wondering what the hell you were actually thinking. It’s cool, though. You’ve got this. And here’s a few tips to hopefully help get you there.
Prepare:
Plan and freeze meals now - If you’re anything like me, food prep takes up a lot of your otherwise free time so do it before November hits. Make and freeze hamburgers, chili, spaghetti sauce, lasagna and quiches. Have fast things like ravioli, frozen pizza and rotisserie chicken on hand.
Do all your laundry (yes, all of it) - By the end of November you’ll probably be swearing your ex-boyfriend’s oversized sweatpants and a shirt with ancient coffee stains on it while you mumble incoherently at your screen. The bottom of your drawers, that stuff that hasn’t seen the light of day in ages, will all get worn. Just clean everything now. This is doubly true if you have kids.
Prep your space - What kind of environment do you write best in? Is it at home or elsewhere? Do you need more light? Another cushion on that chair? A good set of noise canceling headphones? Do you write on paper and need more pens and notebooks? Do it now.
Daydream - Whether you plot extensively ahead of time or not, keep those characters you plan to use in your head while you do all that cooking and laundry we talked about. Know them inside and out, even the minor details you’ll never wind up writing about. It’ll make your job a hundred times easier once you sit down to write.
Feed your inspiration - Do you listen to music when you write? Great! Make a playlist that feels like your story. Have graphics skills? Create a bookcover. Use models for character inspiration? Pick them now and make a Pinterest board. Whatever drives your imagination and fuels your passion for your story can only help.
Take Care Of Yourself:
Don’t forget to eat - Those meals we talked about? Eat them. A hungry writer is a pissy writer and your characters will suffer for it. (And so will you which is more important anyhow)
Hydrate - Hand-in-hand with this, if you’re a caffeine drinker, then also caffeinate. Caffeine headaches can derail anyone from their daily tasks. Also, if you’re a migraine sufferer like me, avoid red wine and other triggers. But really… definitely hydrate.
Take breaks - Take a walk. Take a shower. Go for a drive. Call a friend. Watch a TV show. Sometimes powering through is the right move but other times your brain is gonna need a break.
Share the burden - Prep all you want, housework still happens. If you have roommates or kids or a spouse, consider talking to them ahead of time about needing to rely on them more for mundane chores during the month.
Forgive yourself for setbacks - We all have bad days, days where the words just don’t come. One day with nothing written isn’t gonna break you. A week of being beneath your daily goal won’t either. But letting that drag you down? Telling yourself it means you can’t do it? That’s where it gets near impossible to finish. And, hey, if you don’t, that’s okay, too! Attempting this is already more than most people will ever do. And, you’re pretty badass for trying.
Celebrate your wins - Whether you finish or not, just attempting NaNoWriMo deserves a solid pat on the back. Let yourself be proud of what you do, whatever that may be.
Do not compare yourself to others - Someone will churn out their novel in a week and a half. You don’t have to be them. Be you. That’s better anyhow.
Focus:
Turn off your notifications - Social media is the best distraction there is. Don’t give in to it. Checking in a few times a day or tweeting about your progress is a far cry from watching every like and retweet you get roll in.
Delete time-waster games from your phone - Farmville isn’t going to help you finish your novel and it’s (for me) way, way to easy to get sucked into these kinds of things for far longer than you expect.
Schedule - Budget your time and stick to it. Whether your goal is in hours spent or word count, do your best to follow through.
Power through the hard parts - Sometimes you hate the part you’re writing. Write it anyhow. Get past it so you can move on. Editing will come later and maybe you’ll hate it less as a reader than as the writer. The key is to keep putting one word in front of the other. It’s the only way to finish.
Don’t sweat the small stuff - If a scene is really hard, write *insert fight scene here* or *somehow he gets to the airport here* or *aliens do alien things, IDK, figure this out later.* You can come back to it. If you have momentum, just keep moving forward.
Ultimately, all of these things are what help me write so much day in and day out. It comes down to consistently choosing to write over other things in my life, even when it’s hard and I’d rather not bother. Everyone has their own methods and tricks, but these things help me (when I’m not being a big old hypocrite) and hopefully they’ll help some of you, too. Remember that you can do this, even if you never have before, even if it seems daunting. Every single person who has ever written a novel had to figure out their own way of navigating that process and I suspect it has never once been easy for any of us. I’m sure someone out there will disagree with some of my advice. That’s cool. Everyone has their own way of doing things. But these things help me and, since I’ve been asked a lot how I manage to write so much, it seemed as good a time as any to share.
Happy writing, all! See you when we all come up for air in December!

YAY!!! This lovely fic arrived in my in-box for editing at 11:58 on my birthday! What a fantastic birthday gift from @jbuffyangel
Thanks Jen!
And yes, having my all-time favorite Arrow line repeated in this fic made me tear up.
Reunion: An Olicity Ficlet
I haven’t written any fanfiction for awhile, but I thought I’d give the Olicity reunion post explosion a try! It was highly enjoyable to write a fic that didn’t take six months to write. Short does have its upside. Thanks to the wonderful @hotcookinmama for editing.
This story takes place immediately after the flashback scenes shown in 6x01.
POSTED ON A03
***Music I listened to while writing the scene.
Reunion
***Wide Eyed" by Billy Lockett
Stunned, Oliver remained kneeled next to Samantha as the ash and smoke swirled around him. The crackling of the still burning trees was the only sound between Slade and him. A rustling in the brush raised both men’s defense’s and they rose. Slade handed Oliver his bow before pulling his sword from his sheath.
Wild Dog stepped through the trees into the clearing where Thea and Samantha’s bodies lay holding a medical kit. He froze when he was met with Slade’s sword.
“Easy Samurai. It’s the cavalry,” Rene warily said as he motioned to the bag. Slade sheathed his sword again, pointed at Thea, and stepped aside as Rene rushed to her side.
Felicity stepped into the clearing behind Rene.

I found these two sweet fics thanks to @dust2dust34 's recommendation on Twitter. Thanks! Lovely!
When I Reach For You (Come Home To My Heart)
Happy Arrow day, friends! This is a fluff-filled sequel to We’ll Figure It Out (One Step At A Time) , but you by no means need to read one to enjoy the other. Also, it somehow turned into almost 5,000 words, and I don’t know how that happened… Enjoy!
Oliver doesn’t know why he’s so nervous. It’s not like Felicity and William haven’t met before and yet, as he waits for the tiny blonde to show up at his apartment door, he paces through the living room with sweaty palms like a goddamned teenager who is about to have a girl in his room for the first time. Then suddenly, there’s a knock from the hallway, and he has to take a quick breath to collect himself. Finally, he moves to open the door, but his smile falls instantly when he realizes it’s just the college-aged delivery boy who works for the pizzeria down the street.
“Oh, hey Mateo,” Oliver says slightly deflated as he pats his pockets for his wallet.
“Mayor Queen,” The young man nods in acknowledgment.
“How are you doing, are your classes off to a good start this semester?” Oliver inquires, thinking back to their conversation from two weeks ago when the man had just started his sophomore year.
“Can’t say there’s too much to complain about, sir, although advanced calculus is a real bi-… pain in the butt,” The young man corrects himself with red cheeks under a head of curly brown hair, and Oliver can’t help but smile.
“Yeah, I can’t say I’m a huge fan of math myself these days,” Oliver replies with a laugh, handing Mateo a generous tip in exchange for a large pepperoni pizza.

Oh, I LOVE THIS! What a lot of work! It’s so, so beautiful!!!
Great job, Ruth!!!
Season 6 is almost here!
I decided to write and record an arrangement of Oliver Queen’s themes: moments that were of great impact to him and people that greatly shaped him, both in Season 1 and the seasons to come. This project (like many of my ideas) became huge so I have had to break it up into Seasons. I hope you had a good hiatus and I look forward to delving into Arrow music with you in a few weeks!
