There was only one origin that mattered to him, and he was already apprised of how the golem called Malivore had come about. How that same monster had been trapped away and been used by an organization as the dumping ground for other monsters, and then he was born out of it. “Doing research, on the origins of the phoenix. Or, at least, the myths of it.”

“Well, we don’t have many of those around here.“ And the heretic chuckles slightly at the thought. A couple of years back she would think the idea of phoenix and evil mud pits as insane, as insane it could get in their supernatural world. But now? It’s just another day in the office. “Well, you’re looking in the wrong section.” A finger taps his books, a shake of her head. “What we have is very little. I figured you would want some information, so, I got you some books from my contacts in Greece, since the most common myth of the phoenix goes back there.” And maybe that would be a clue.

                    people would argue that kai was still alive and kicking because he was a roach;  a thing that just wouldn’t stay dead.  maybe they weren’t wrong,  but it was because he was smart and knew how to survive― people who knew him well knew not to underestimate him and valerie was no exception to that.  a mock gasp followed,  still with the gleam of a grin.   “sounds to me like you already think i’m pretty.”   after all,  she said prettier.

“josie,  right,  right,”    he agrees,  with the wave of his hand.  of course he knows her name.  for now,  he believed enough that she would work with him,  both having a similar endgame in mind.  not to mention,  outside of the prison world,  she could actually kill him more officially―so,  him getting out was more beneficial to her than not,  right?   “sounds like a win,  win,  win,  all around.  alright,  vally-val,  lead the way to the bennett blood.”   a few steps in her direction,  and he paused by her side.   “you missed me,”   smirk.

“𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐌𝐘 𝐓𝐘𝐏𝐄.“ and blue steels look from the ground toward the other with a warning, even if knowing him, he would ignore it without a care. she is not here to let him toy around with her mind or small chatter. “I don’t go for sociopaths.” But sure you go for rippers, valerie. But hey, she is not discussing that with him either. Or how she was actually mad at this whole situation with Alaric, and how the man she trusted put students into a prison world.

It takes strength to simply clench her jaw and roll her eyes at the annoying nickname and not snap his neck, he would just come back all over again. Even if the silence for a few minutes would be very much welcoming. Eyebrows quirk in a perfect bow, amusement spread at his statement. “𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐂𝐀𝐍 𝐈 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐆𝐔𝐄?” she doesn’t miss the drama, the troubles, the double-crossings. “But hey, I surely do miss draining your blood from your body. Good times.” Ah yes, the good old days when he had been the one trapped with the Heretics instead of one of them and a clever one. An enchanted talisman leads them both to the prized Bennett Blood. “I don’t like going down memory line.”

𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐃. The twins are still young, a couple of years separating them from the official Merge ceremony. But she gets it, the desperation of the situation, one twin would absorb the other in a crazy, off the chart curse that her coven got eons ago. She closes the book before her with a flip of her hand, leaning against the wall as they talk. “Technically, it would be enough to have Parker blood to open it. But Kai took precautions.” Damn little shit. 

Last of the last resorts. Valerie wouldn’t say he recommends being a heretic to anyone, and vampirism isn’t bad, considering how Caroline handle it, or how Valerie herself did. But still, it’s a choice the girls need to have. “In theory, if I found the ingredients of the original curse, then it’s possible we could reverse it. As well the bloodline of the witch. It’s not a coincidence that siphoners are only born inside the coven.” Siphoners were anomalies in the witch species. It’s all connected. She shifts forward, now a glass of scotch being handed over to Caroline as Valerie takes one for herself. “I’ll find a way. Trust me, the last thing I want is to talk to Kai.”

HC 001. Valerie could potentially still have children. Much like Klaus’ loophole around his werewolf side, her witch’s side is still very much human and the constant siphoning of magic out of the vampire blood could lead to Valerie get pregnant once more. Heretics could still procreate, though I do believe after Valerie was made, nature might had made some modifications for everyone else, as if, correcting itself. But yeah, Valerie could have children, though she does think it’s possible, she didn’t exactly had time to test every theory, as she was turned so quickly after losing her child (who she already felt was a boy) and then getting stuck in the prison world.

ᴀ ꜰᴀɪʀ ᴡᴀʀɴɪɴɢ, ᴏɴᴇ ꜱʜᴇ ᴋɴᴏᴡꜱ. it does bring a smile to her lips, to see that at least, he shows concern over her, despite valerie being a grown woman, who can handle her own.  she isn’t used to people caring for her so when it happens, it’s a bit of fresh air. “relax, I don’t know her much but her family was thankful for helping. never in my life i thought I would owe a favor from the original family.” in the end, she doesn’t speak why she helped them, because the subject is a sore one but it reduces to one; hope mikaelson was an adorable little girl back then. and she deserved to have her family. valerie might had never reached maternity, but she has the instinct. “best payment is see hope and the twins being friends now.”

when she can, she works at the school. odd, very much so. that valerie and alaric fixed some of their differences to work together, but being the last remaining member of the gemini coven is enough to keep her around for the girls. “well,” and she presses her hands on the bench, blue eyes looking down as a quiet smile forms in her lips. “I like the bench. it’s nice. even if back then there was more color around. and the dresses were bigger.” she recalls that moment then. sure, the one thing she doesn’t miss from that time is the dresses, even if they looked good. “but i don’t think it’s impossible to let go. we did, right? or we try.”
