you know how v3’s theme is truth vs lies?

kokichi is the embodiment of lying for obvious reasons

and that leaves shuichi

he’s a detective and detectives are always supposed to find the truth. he’s also the protag so it makes sense that he’d embody truth.

but then there’s his backstory about how he’s scared of finding the truth because of that one murder

idk where i was going with this but yeah

Ok hello! Here we are, first post on my little blog about danganronpa and I hope you enjoy. Warning! This is NOT spoiler free. Expect to have spoilers for everything except for v3, nagito Komaeda and the destroyer of the world, and any of the manga. Thank you!

Ok so, today we’re going to be talking about dr3 and the first two games + udg’s overarching hmm. Chronological order? Yeah, that. That’s definitely what was confusing me most when watching the anime. (By danganronpa 3 I mean future and despair arc)

So at first, I was under the impression that the order things went in was frost, dr1 (the first killing game, despair arc, sdr2 (the second killing game), and then udg + future arc. What I’m thinking for udg and future arc is that drae happens either slightly befor or slightly after future arc events. I’ll explain more on that later. REMEMBER THAT V3 IS ENTIRELY IRRELEVANT. At this point, I’ve come to the conclusion for several reasons that that was completely WRONG.

The new timeline that I’ve come up with is: first are the events of despair arc, the first killing game , the second killing game, and then future arc/udg. Let me explain to you what led me to believe this.

Let’s start off with despair arc and why that comes before trigger happy havoc. There are three reasons why I think that. What happened first was some guy was talking to the principal and mentioned a girl who had been winning undefeated in the casino lounge. First things that came to mind was Celeste, but then I realized she’s dead. I wondered if the creators just threw it in there to be funny or something and this being a different ultimate gambler. This next event is what really drew me to my conclusion. While the principal and other guy were talking, the camera panned to his desk where you can see three student profiles. You wonder who these students may be? Kiyotaka Ishimaru, Celestia Ludenberg, and Kyoko Kirigiri. What I REALLY should’ve noticed first was about the principal. Jin Kirigiri. If you don’t know, he was executed in the beginning of thh. Also just the fact that the school was running should have made it obvious.

We can skip over dr1 because we all know it comes before goodbye despair. Now we can talk about dr2, future arc, and drae. This part it’s a little more complicated so bear with me.

For a second let’s ignore future arc and talk about sdr2 and ultra despair girls. Originally I thought udg came before sdr2 because Nagito Komarda was in despair. Now I’m thinking otherwise because of two events that happened in future arc.

First we have when Kyoko and asahina were talking about miya gekkogahara. She was supposedly one of the main developers for the New World program. Hold on I wonder if it says is or was lemme check. K I spent like three hours checking and I can’t find it but everything I did find suggests it says was so. Now, why would they say this unless the New World program had already been made. I understand it could’ve been in the process of being made but what Makoto says says otherwise.

While he’s addressing the building during the final killing game to prove he skit the traitor, he talks about how he isn’t assisting the remnants of despair but rather sees their past selves, hopes, and dreams and their potential they lost due to Enoshima. He also says something about “the new world program that did not go as intended” this is obviously referring to the sdr2 killing game on jaberwoxk island.

That’s basically all the basis I have for that one, so let’s move on to the udg situation.

The key thing that makes me think that drae happens slightly before future arc is this. BYAKUYA. andtokotooig. The reason I know it’s not during this because Makoto is suspected as a traitor. I don’t think that they would send Makoto’s allies on a major mission like this who could potentially be a traitor. especially when they’re also suspecting Kyoko and Hina. This means that they would’ve been sent after his name was clear. In episode six when we FaceTime byakuya, he is not in towa city. Toko, on the other hand is with komaru in towa city. It’s pretty clear that they are already friends, so it must be after their journey. At least that’s my assumption. There are still a few holes here that make me wonder, but I’ll figure it out eventually.
