Atlanta VIP’s gathered at Atlantic Station Regal Cinemas to celebrate the season four premiere of the hit TV One docu-series “Rickey Smiley For Real.” The live-watch party was hosted by Rickey Smiley and the cast of “Rickey Smiley For Real.” Following the packed to capacity screening, Rickey Smiley conducted a brief Q&A with attending members of the press.

In celebration of the upcoming release of the highly anticipated Tupac biopic, ALL EYEZ ON ME, cast members Demetrius Shipp Jr. and Kat Graham as well as Creator & Producer L.T. Hutton came back to Atlanta where the movie was filmed, for a press conference at Means Street Studios on Thursday, June 8th.

TV One, Hip Hop Weekly and Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey celebrated the premiere of the new scripted series “Here We Go Again” at Boogalou Restaurant & Lounge. Show stars LeToya Luckett, Wendy Raquel Robinson and Kyndall Ferguson were on hand to walk the carpet, greet fans and thank attendees for their ongoing support.
TV One SVP of Marketing, Lori Hall, opened the program with an introduction of the network’s re-branding and new “Represent” slogan. Then Hall previewed a clip from the premiere episode, followed by remarks from the cast in which they shared their excitement and pride in the show. DJ Bomshell Boogie took over from there and turned the event into a full-blown bash.
Additional attendees included Trina Braxton (“Braxton Family Values”), Syleena Johnson (“R&B Divas Atlanta”), Dr. Heavenly (“Married to Medicine”), Drea Kelly (“Hollywood Exes”), Cocoa Brown (“For Better or Worse”), D. This past weekend I was able to learn from major female goalgetters from various walks and experiences of life. The epic Sabrina Peterson, founder of Glam University finally had the chance to see the fruits of her planning as women with entrepreneurial hunger filled the W Hotel in Atlanta to attend the third Girl Power Sleepover. <more>
The hungry entrepreneurs attended various classes such as her Flip classes and Business A-Z, followed by engaging sessions including a Branding 101 class hosted by the humble media maven Karen Civil, Rolling Out CEO Munson Steed, and Michelle Alexander of General Motors. The sessions didn’t stop there either. There was a breakout session with Zane, movie producer and New York Times best-selling author.
As well as a class on “Taking Your Product from the Kitchen to Mainstream Stores,” by CURLS CEO Mahisha Dellinger.
Sophia Amoruso, founder of popular fashion retailer Nasty Gal and New York Times best-selling author of #GirlBoss was the special guest and keynote speaker. She shared the challenges she faced when launching Nasty Gal, which started as an eBay store and currently a multimillion dollar clothing company. The rainy weather did not stop fire that burned inside the ladies.

Def Jam recording artist Jeezy hosted a free Thanksgiving meal giveaway this past Wednesday, as part of his Street Dreamz Foundation’s annual turkey giveaway at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 422 Merritts Ave, NE in Atlanta .
Jeezy’s Thanksgiving meal giveaway was made possible this year by a generous donation from the Atlanta Hawks Foundation.
Over 200 families received a box a turkey or a ham, can of green beans, can of corn, stuffing, package of rolls and can of cranberry sauce plus a bouquet of beautiful flowers from Trader Joes.
The Street Dreamz Foundation has made tickets available to various Atlanta churches, including Mt. Sanai, Ebenezer Baptist Church, and more.
Although I was sick, I couldn’t miss this event. I remember when I was younger my mom had to receive assistance to feed my brother and myself. Now I am in a position to give back to the community and extend a helping hand. Remember to give back 365. I even made new friends too!

V-103 hosted an ATL-style salon takeover for NBC’s highly anticipated new show, THE WIZ LIVE at celebrity stylist’s Gocha Hawkins, midtown hot spot with a live on-air afternoon broadcast.
Twenty five young ladies from the non-profit organization, Saving Your Daughters, transformed to little “dorothy’s” for the day, as they attended the event and had a chance to get primped and pampered with nail and salon services, as well as the girls were able to meet some of their favorite local celebrities who were in attendance including WVEE-FM on-air personality Ramona DeBreaux, Quad Webb-Lunceford (Bravo’s Married to Medicine), Dr. Heavenly Kimes (Bravo’s Married to Medicine), Shamea Morton (Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta), LaTavia Roberson (TV One’s R&B Diva’s Atlanta) and LaKenya Morris (WEtv’s Cutting It In the ATL).

Another day. Another event with great people. I had the divine pleasure of attending a private media dinner at STK Atlanta for Will Power Packer’s new comedy, Truth Be Told which is one of NBC’s latest Friday night shows. The event was hosted by newlywed Will Packer and the handsome Tone Bell.
Truth Be Told centers around two diverse couples where no topic of discussion is off limits. From sex to race to politics and porn, this foursome has no problem being open and honest with each other and having those candid conversations that you only have with your real friends.
The show features Bell as the hilarious, wise-cracking Russell who is newly married to Angie, played by Bresha Webb. Their best friends and neighbors are ethics professor, Mitch and his attorney wife Tracy played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Vanessa Lachey.
Atlanta Media had an opportunity to chat one-on-one with both Bell and Packer, who were very pumped about the new comedic series. Did I mention I had the chance to have a sneak peek at the show before our one on one? It is super funny and it is coming on during the right season. I will be warm and at home watching!
For Bell, playing a comedian on the show is a lot like playing himself considering he began his career doing stand-up. (Will said if he didn’t pick him up,he would have still been in Decatur on the streets)
“My character Russell actually sounds a lot like me. I mean, other than the fact that I play married and own a house, I pretty much get to be myself,” said Bell. ” I was also very adamant to the producers that I didn’t want to change my own comedic sensibility to become someone else’s ‘voice’ and they agreed with me 100%.”
Truth Be Told premieres tonight beginning at 8:30 p.m. on NBC.
