The fandom is a bunch of immature, hysterical babies when it comes to humans. They've had a major role in TWO of SEVENTEEN books, yet everyone's claiming "Oh Tui is going to make the series all about dragon riders and the dragons aren't going to be the focus anymore" and every single time I see something like that I just get...SO annoyed...

Okey pokie take TWO of doing this! This time, no blog chain. Too long and literally broke Tumblr for me.
So, heya gaymers. I have the new WoF guide with me. Ain't that wacky? Wanna read certain sections? That's cool. Here. Take this. PDFs. Not described unfortunately as I'm. way too tired... I'll try to space them out so it isn't a massive dump of pictures on my blog all at once. I dunno.

some icewing headcannon stuffs because their written design kinda sucks
icewings tend to have darker coloration on their underbellies and lighter spines, since the ground in the ice kingdom is often paler than the sky and camouflaged dragonets have a better chance at survival.
dark markings in front of their eyes prevents the intense reflected arctic sunlight from damaging their vision.
iridescent scales because yes. silkwings aren’t the only ones allowed to be shiny. it makes icewings a bit more interesting than the “pale blue, moon white, silver” descriptions they get in the books.
instead of a row of spikes along their spines, icewings have elongated, overlapping scales/quills. fallen or broken scales are replaced in a few months. this “ruff” never stops growing, so older dragons usually have thousands of spikes that are almost mane-like in quality.
icewings don’t have nerves in or around their horns and spikes, a trait likely developed by early ancestors that could still be damaged by frigid temperatures. some modern dragons use this to their advantage by snapping off extra points to give their horns a desired shape. (maybe this even led to some weird fashion trends where dragons would remove as much of their horns as possible)
