Adele's Ramsay Living for TS3

2 years ago, on a fateful evening, I decided to convert this set to TS3. Although this had already been converted, I had my reasons to do my own conversion. Long story short, there were things that I didn't like and things that I liked.

One thing that I liked in the previous conversion was the effort to make the table tops glass. So I experimented with the Basic Shower which is supposed to have frosted glass. I don't know why EA use horrible textures; when you replace the NormalMap with a proper frosted glass texture it looks amazing.

So, using this knowledge as a base, I worked on the frosted glass table tops and after countless failures, I finally managed to have the effect I wanted. The key is having the right values for UVSelector parameters in the shader.

I also changed the textures for the bottle; tried to recreate it as a multiplier. Then made another version. Bottles are semi-transparent glass and recolourable. Don't ask me how I made them - I don't remember. But I if have to guess, there is this tutorial that I know of. The first part is about recolourable glass.

I wasn't feeling Adele's art for the painting. So, I used the recolours made by @timeparadoxsims. The artist is @len-yan and the art is amazing. If any of them want me to remove the painting from my downloads, I will do so but cry inwardly. 😢

I know people hate reading and just want to download but THIS IS IMPORTANT: Several items share textures. So you need to have the 'masters' in your game for the 'slaves' to work. I will group them and explain further.

The Loveseat is the master for the following objects: Armchair, Sofa, End Table (Solid Top), Coffee Table (Solid Top).

Loveseat, Armchair, Sofa -> 4 Channels - 2 presets with second being Adele's black overlay & metal and wood parts still CAStable.

Loveseat Polycount -> HLOD: 1746 MLOD: 702

Armchair Polycount -> HLOD: 1578 MLOD: 726

Sofa Polycount -> HLOD: 1962 MLOD: 1096

End Table, Coffee Table -> 3 Channels - 1 Preset

End Table Polycount -> HLOD: 710 MLOD: 444

Coffee Table Polycount -> HLOD: 1322 MLOD: 720

The Cushions for Loveseat is the master for following objects: The Cushion for Armchair, The Cushions for Sofa.

All Cushions -> 1 channel, 3 different multipliers - 5 Presets with 2 of them being overlays. You don't need moveobjects on to place them on their appropriate seating. If you use alt to place the seating you need to use alt to place the cushions as well.

Loveseat & Sofa Cushions Polycount -> HLOD: 160 MLOD: 80

Armchair Cushions Polycount -> HLOD: 80 MLOD: 40

The Glass Top End Table is the master for The Glass Top Coffee Table.

Both tables have 1 Channel & 1 Preset. Polys are same as the solid tops.

I love how nobody cares about the brawl at all. Just chilling.

Satori is still mourning Danzig. Maybe she recalls how she treated him on his last day. Apparently, she believes the best cure for pain is more pain because she tortures her feet with the firewalk pit and regrets it immediately.

Yet, Satori is not a quitter. A while later, she goes back to conquer it.

I had to raise 3 generations before a robbery ever happened in this save. And now, it's a break-in each week with the same idiot, at that, constantly getting busted.

What's weird is that Satori just couldn't care less. She shows no reaction at all. I can't make her fight the burglar, either. She always waits for the cop to handle things. You'd think she'd be itching for a good fight, but no...

Note: Switched to Satori's side because of another bug.

As an addition, not only the ones that disappeared but also the ones who are generally lurking or not as active as they were anymore for reasons, I hope that you'll find solace in things that make you smile and find strength in things you do. Hang in there.

online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.

and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.

there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't think anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.

i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.

The baby gnome throwing a tantrum is totally me right now. I had to switch to my main hood earlier than planned because the hood Bodhi is in threw a new bug at me.

If I have two sim-weeks of smooth gameplay, it has to end with some game breaking bug.

This time it's the clock freeze. The game clock freezes at a time as you continue playing. Everything seems normal; then you check the clock and it's stuck. Because time is broken, you cannot travel. And I don't think it fixes itself when you just continue playing.

I remember it happening in one of my earlier saves, but I can't recall how I fixed it if I ever did. This time I was able to fix it after doing the Dump Alarms thing via Debug Enabler and checking the events around the freeze time. When I reset a lot right before the freeze, the clock was able to move after the expected threshold.

Alas, the bug returns the next day around the same time. I suspect it's related to having too many sims on a lot in tight spaces but I don't have the will or the desire to deal with it right now. I just want to remain weak and useless and enjoy my escapism.

So I fixed my CAW and been decorating a desert world while watching Baldur's Gate 3 playthroughs. Sorry for not being engaging enough; I guess I just exist in a void right now.

Announcing @simfluencer-network

An expansive, new cc blog that aims to be a complete archive of SIMS 3 CC! With a completely finished navigation menu to find that specific item you need. Why, you ask? Well, I'm sure I'm not the only one that misses our dear @katsujiiccfinds as they are no longer maintaining their blog. We still have blogs like @kpccfinds, @pis3update, @wanderingsimsfinds and many more that reblog new cc, but I like to keep things more organized than what their tagging systems offer (please don't take offence I love all of you!) With that in mind, I had an idea and some time. Put those two things together and you get a new tagging system which in my opinion is pretty detailed. You want an accessory hat? I got you! Maybe some fantasy decor for your house? I got that too! You get the point, you want it, I got it. Another fun thing I'll be doing is adding preview pictures to CC that does not have it, and expanding the tagging system to include things such as lookbooks, archives and more!

All that being said, this blog is still in it's early stages. This means that I urge you to give me feedback on the tagging system, spelling mistakes, and everything else to make sure this blog can become the best version of itself.

So please, give me feedback, and give me suggestions! check out my navigation menus and don't see something that you think should be an option? Tell me and I will see if it is something I should add to my system.

Sorry for the notification hell. Bodhi has some achievements under his belt now. He's been desiring to grow forbidden fruit for some time. I guess, he couldn't find a suitable gene donor to start a life together and now he just wants to clone himself in the plant form. Anything that would continue his line is good.

He also conquers his career and is immediately rewarded by this random townie with bitch-slapping. Funny thing is their relationship improved after the slapping. Maybe Bodhi has a kink for a good smack in the face, like Grandpa Fendi did.

Bodhi learns that Lola is in town so he tries to rekindle things with her. They have a lovely date and Bodhi gets his woohoo wish. Unfortunately this relationship isn't going anywhere. As much as I like Lola, it's just a fling.

In less than 4 sim-weeks - although, it would be years in real life measurements - Bodhi is able to pay all his debt. 🥳 He decides a celebration is in order and goes to that floating boat club that he discovered the first night he came to town. He drinks, sings and dances all night. 🍾 🎤 🕺🏿

No more busking; working at local green houses or scavenging the junkyard. He's going to become an adult in a few days; it's time to focus on serious things in life.

After the funeral, Bodhi returns to his daily grind in Saaqartoq. Honestly, he's doing better than I thought considering he started out with a 45K debt, yeah. Of course finding out that the house was filled with valuable paintings helped him out a lot but he doesn't like to talk about it.

Oh, his male roomie, Monte, is really into him, asking him out and all. Unfortunately for Monte, Bodhi just can't see him more than a buddy, I mean, not even a f-buddy.

And just like that, spring comes to Saaqartoq removing the white blanket that seemed eternal sometime ago.

Danzig gets a fancy tombstone just like his ancestors. Out of all his progeny the little triplets cry the most, which is understandable. I guess, he was a better father to them and they're still children. Also, Simurg never shows up despite being invited.

Bodhi still can't seem to feel anything; he just stares at his father's grave with an empty heart. Funeral is all over the place with attendees crying one moment and socialising the next.

Satori makes sure she forces all the crying out of her system in a distant corner of the cemetery, before meeting his brother for the first time after the graduation. She needs to look tough, you know.

But Deedee passes out meaninglessly right when Satori is about to interact with Bodhi and everybody gets distracted. And it was a nice interaction too. Bodhi clicks with both Alice and Deedee, emphasising his interest in Deedee.

Definitely not because he's broke and needs money immensely, Bodhi decides a small concert might cheer everybody up and makes some money in the process.

Tori proves to be loyal to Danzig. Unlike Ayesha, she really never cared that he had other relationships. She also seems to share Danzig's view on Alice and disapproves their daughter's choice of partner. Is this foreshadowing?

Other than gathering all of them in one place, I had no control in any of their actions including Bodhi's. This was the best funeral I had in game, quite realistic, well, besides the kicky bag.

On Sunday, Bodhi receives a call from his estranged sister, Satori, with some uncalled-for infodump. Like she's still an arsehole, rich, and Danzig is dead.

Bodhi isn't sure how to feel about it all, but he still makes the effort to go to his useless father's funeral in an unplanned trip to his hometown.

Well, not really Satori calling him since their relationship is still in the negatives. Also, I have to turn on the Ageless Foreign Sims option in Traveller. Otherwise, everyone in the other worlds will age when I'm not playing them. Danzig's death notification is from my test-play when I forgot about the option. Yay, unnecessary info.

Thinking that it would help his situation Bodhi agrees two of his colleagues to live with him as roommates. However, they turn out to be utterly useless.

His days go by working his butt off: busking, gardening, and scavenging the junkyard. Then he comes home to dirty dishes and laundry everywhere.

Well, they at least provide some distraction. There's a three-way flirting going on constantly. I gave both roomies the No Jealousy reward trait, so that Bodhi would be cool with them. But they still get jealous when the other flirts with Bodhi.

Still, he wasn't getting much out of them other than the Naughty Reputation. They also needed to be upgraded in the Woohoo department.

We're taking a small break from Satori and her self-indulgent life style, to take a trip to Saaqartoq by @nilxis and see what Bodhi is up to. Why am I more excited to play the spare?

Upon landing here with a mere §3000 which is all he could make since he was a kid, Bodhi decides to start anew in this cold town. His belongings are Roxy's guitar, his keyboard and violin and Macy's Hot Rod. He gets a position as a Band Member thanks to his degree and finds a place to rent.

Unfortunately, in this town security deposits for rentals are sky-high, so he has to take a high risk loan at 25%. Even after getting some of his money back his debt is too big and by the end of the week he still owes 25K and his net worth is in negatives. 😭

The stark difference in conditions of two siblings is mind-blowing.

Well, let's say this is how Satori mourns. I would believe it, if it wasn't the same scene each morning. I wonder if they'll keep this crap up when the babies come.

Alice gets her first tattoo. Because, why not? And Satori spends the day sliding on the water slide at her resort. Otherwise, she would cry all day. In the afternoon, she calls Bodhi for the first time.

"What's up, dickhead? Guess, who's calling you from her luxurious resort? I'm at the poolside right now and making 5K daily! Haa! By the way, our loving father is dead. If I'm going to spend the whole day crying, you should too! So, you're welcome."
