Zayn Malik Problematic

Zayn being ignorant and problematic over the years, a thread, since many people are forgetting racism he defended, “All Lives Matter” statement, cultural appropriation, etc. Some have been strict judging other artists, to the point to harass them every day, so let’s be like that with everyone. Let’s begin!

1. All Lives Matter 1

In 2016, Zayn Malik responded to a tweet that accused him, Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian West and Taylor Swift of benefitting from black culture, but being unwilling to speak out against police brutality. All of this happened after Alton Sterling, a 37-year-old black man, was shot dead at close range by two white officers in Louisiana. This is what Zayn said.

2. All Lives Matter 2

After faced criticism and people were calling him out about his tweet. Even a twitter user took it herself to educate him about the history of police brutality in the United States. But the same day he tweeted “Love Humans”. Which in the context of the situation pretty much means “All Lives Matter”. Again, people have been hurt.

3. N word

In 2016, Zayn's manager and best friend, Ned, posted a video of them on snapchat. You can see both of their mouths moving and hear the n-word. The video has been deleted from all social media, all the articles, etc. There are still some commentary websites talking about. 4. Shirt

Zayn wore a racist shirt with a stereotype aimed towards black people, even some of his fans have acknowledge this mistake. Zayn hasn’t said anything.

5. Defending racism towards Asians

In 2017, Gigi held up a Buddha cookie next to her face, imitating the face. She was being called out on Twitter for being racist, bc people were offended. So Zayn tweeted “She likes Asians”. Even his own fans didn’t like that. He hasn’t said anything since that.

6. Don’t educate me

Being part of a minority doesn’t mean you can let other people’s racism slide like it’s nothing *Like that person said”. After that he ask people to not try to educate him. In summary fans and others told him he’s not woke or educated just bc he faced racism.

7. Cultural Appropriation 1

People have been quick in calling out for appropriating cultures through clothing. So here is one of Zayn: Zayn had a teepee in his yard. Here is why it is CA.

8. Cultural Appropriation 2

Another cultural appropriation has a Yin Yang Tattoo. Since we don’t know if Zayn is aware or educated about the meaning taijitu or the taosim (and people in Twitter always supposed the worst in people), this is another example of CA.

9. Gender Fluid Icon

Vogue considered Zayn and Gigi gender fluid icons. Some people found it odd that the magazine would profile a cisgender, straight couple for a story about gender fluidity. This offended and shocked many people of the LGBTQ+ community. Vogue apologized, however neither Zayn nor Gigi have said anything.

10. Bonus 1: Gigi

12. Bonus 3: Chlamydia joke

So... some zayn stans were angry about this, and that’s ok. This doesn’t mean your fav is a horrible person, just that he made mistakes.

However your anger doesn’t justify you being racist. This person believes that I’m from some asian country (mentioning a different one every time), even tho I told them I’m not. Really people, be a little more respectful please. How does twitter exposes someone’s race?

SO HARRY STYLES: this person thinks I did this bc I am a harry styles fan, so they promised to do a super long “Harry Styles is problematic”. I promise them that I was going to do one too, but in two days bc that’s how long it takes me to do the research, but they demanded that it had to be today. I can’t do that.
