“Please let me go,” begs Whumpee, huddled on the ground at Whumper’s feet, injured and starving. “I’ve done everything you want. Please let me go.”

“Of course,” says Whumper. “You can leave immediately.” They pull Whumpee to their feet and march them to the door. They pull it open and a gust of wind blows in, carrying a flurry of snow that bites Whumpee’s bare skin. Whumper smiles at them. “Bon voyage.”

Whumpee couldn’t breathe, and neither could Whumper. Whumper was going to die of laughter. Whumpee was on the ground twitching and shaking; they looked like a worm. Whumper had never electrocuted anyone before, but this was definitely their new favorite form of torture.

“Ss-ss-sto-p-p,” Whumpee gasped out in pieces, but Whumper couldn’t hear them between the sound of the electricity and their own laughter. “Sst-o-op, pl-l-le-ease.” Whumpee got a quick break when Whumper dropped the stun baton in their fit, which made Whumper laugh harder, but then they just bent down to pick it up again. The tears in Whumpee’s eyes were very different from the ones in Whumper’s.

“You just–” Whumper laughed some more. “You look so pathetic and helpless, and I–it’s just so funny. Oh my god, you know what I should do? I should put some music on so it looks like you’re dancing! I’ll be right back!”

Whumpee took the few moments to catch their breath. Had they had the energy, they would have picked up the stun baton Whumper had left behind only a few feet away from them. Whumpee guessed it had been left there on purpose, probably to show them just how weak they were. They whimpered at the realization and then let out a sob at the music. Whumper re-entered with a speaker, camera, and even a tripod.

“Wait, let me restart the music,” Whumper decided. Whumpee had thought that would come first, so they closed their eyes, not expecting the stun baton to be pressed into their side before “Electricity” by the Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark started playing.

As someone who only recently entered the community, there are so many amazing stories I want to read but I have immense problems getting into bc i can only find half of it.

CW: Fluff, affects from pain medications

At last, Whumpee would go home. Caretaker had just said they’d been released from the hospital. Whumpee slowly dropped their legs out from under the hospital bed’s sheets. “Whoa, take it easy,” Caretaker warned, while grabbing onto Whumpee’s arm. Whumpee didn’t have the energy to flinch at the sudden feeling. “There’s a lot of pain medication in you right now. Maybe we should wait a bit.”

“No!” Whumpee whined, using their cry to push themself up. They took one step to balance themself before falling. “Sorry, I just—”

“Whumpee, you can’t walk to the car. Let’s wait an hour or two, okay? Or maybe an extra day.” Whumpee gave a small groan before Caretaker bent to grab Whumpee’s arms and lifted them up. Whumpee was lighter than Caretaker wanted to admit, and this was without Whumpee trying to push themselves back up again.

When Whumpee was standing again, they fell into Caretaker’s arms, though Caretaker wasn’t sure if it was because of a problem standing or because Whumpee was desperate. “I want—” Whumpee was starting to breathe faster as they cried in Caretaker’s arms. Caretaker could feel the tears starting to drown their shirt. “I—I want to go home. I want to lay—lay on the sofa. I w—want to make bacon in the morning. I want what it was before—before—”

Caretaker shushed Whumpee, gently rocking them. “Alright, okay. Let’s go home. I’m going to pick you up now, okay?” Whumpee didn’t say anything, which Caretaker took as an “okay.” Putting Whumpee down only when they reached the front desk to announce they were leaving, Caretaker carried Whumpee to the car, and then to the sofa when they got back home. Seeing Whumpee’s red eyes, tired from crying, Caretaker made eggs and bacon for an early dinner before Whumpee fell asleep with Caretaker on the sofa beside them.

I misread that at first and thought, what if the onlooker was implying that Whumpee didn’t deserve someone abusing them, assuming that person was Caretaker?

When the caretaker and the whumpee are in a relationship, and a skeptical onlooker none-too-subtly implies that a helpless, damaged weakling like Whumpee doesn’t deserve Caretaker’s love, leaving Whumpee to stew in self loathing and shame and Caretaker absolutely livid and protective 👌👌👌
