Eren had to think. He always sensed the hostile thoughts and anger from the others as he walked through the doors and down the halls of the base. The basment dwelling sure did not help. But this question, well the answer was easy. His lips curled into somewhat of a sadistic smile as he looked to Erwin. “Simple, to kill all the titans and finally free humanity from this god damned cage.” Was all he could say and think

“I know there is no replacement for me. Don’t you think that was on my mind when those damn traitors had me Commander?” Eren glared at him some. He was somewhere between there and in that tree still, at least mentally. Taking the mental abuse from his peers and so called comrades was taking his toll. And iut wasn’t like Armin or Mikasa really cared, they always backed off when they told him so it seemed performative on their part to try and protect him. “Sometimes it feels that way, but I am sure you can imagine why Commander.” He staryed to shake, he was fighting back tears. “I am starting to think my powers are just coincidence.”

He took a deep breath as he shook.

“I’m sorry.” He finally manages. “Everything is just eating at me because I let it get to me.“

The fear required to be conquered to pledge to the scouts, which was already done. To free humanity of the corruption which chained them to fear and havoc. There was clear purpose of the titan wielding to be bared to him, but with Hange’s studies unable to bottom the requirements to gain full control. Although, the commander could not affirmed that Eren’s gain the full control. “ Advance into territory.. ” He uttered acknowledging the dedicated titan soldier’s expression. Too many deaths in the battles that had him adjusted to the brutality of the reality in the corps, thus poise reinforced him to remain unfazed.

“ You are acknowledging the truth, but not quite entirely. Myself, must admit to not be in full grasp of it... ” To think they were within grasp, but have slipped. Their strategic methods have been to utilize Eren’s ability. “ It’s proven already, there were incentives within those containing proficiency. We are guaranteed to encounter the implementation of the ability against us. & they will be anticipating that you will reflect to it, which can be used against you.”

The commander lectured. The intention to degrade was non-existence within his words. Erwin did value and respect the dedication, thus create the foundation to find Eren’s own incentive. “ ...Our time to depart should be amplified enough, but can be altered if approach with no choice to deploy sooner. ”
