Maybe YOU would go on a murder spree or start an incestuous relationship or commit some other atrocity if your favorite character does it and is lauded for it, but that’s bc your moral compass and critical thinking skills are clearly underdeveloped, which is frankly a you problem

Maybe you should stop projecting those issues on people who are just out here for compelling stories and living their lives and work on your own shit if that’s the case. And if you think the sort of characters or stories someone enjoys is the end-all be-all of whether someone is a good person, maybe take a chill pill and check yourself and think about how similar you sound to the same pearl-clutching puritanical assholes who still think any kind of queer content, however innocent, isn’t appropriate for children and that all “bad” content should be wiped from the internet.

And maybe if you care so much about moral purity, you should pay more attention to the people you’re friends with or that you agree with who are suicide baiting people over fictional characters and take a good look in the mirror to consider why you care more about fictional characters than real people, bc if you see nothing wrong with that picture you’re a truly fucked up individual and my first point about projecting your own fucked up moral compass on others stands.

If you don’t like certain content, do what the rest of us adults with common decency do and exercise the block button, use ao3’s filter and tag system, and take responsibility for your own fucking experience and go enjoy your own little puritanical corner of fandom.
