It wasn’t that you were drunk, because you weren’t, but you just couldn’t stop giggling. Neither you nor Hyunjin had had more than three drinks, of whatever-the-fuck Changbin was serving, but the grin would not fall from your lips.

It was an ordinary day when you had recieved the text from Changbin (to the group chat) telling you that you would be attending the party at his house in a few hours. It wasn’t a question but you doubted you would’ve declined even if it was, Changbin’s parties were always fun and it had been quite a while since all everyone in your little group had been together. Plus Hyunjin had already agreed to go when you read the text – you hadn’t seen him in at least five days – and you missed him.

Now it would be a lie to call Hwang Hyunjin your best friend, for that honour went to Han Jisung and he would never let you forget it, but the two of you were like peas in a pod. Both of you were very physically affectionate and tended to gravitate towards each other in social settings because not everyone you were friends with was comfortable with prolonged skinship whereas the two of you felt more comfortable in the embrace of someone you trusted.

It was just a plus that Hyunjin gave the best hugs.
